Revival In Pictures - Colquitt, Georgia

We have been in several cities in South Georgia and we have preached a good number of revivals in the area, but we had never been in Colquitt, Georgia or visited Mt. Olive Holiness Church. This week changed all of that.

Pastor Jonathan Prickett had invited us to Mt. Olive pre-pandemic and we are just now showing up. We are very grateful for the invitation and happy to meet many of these folks for the first time. We enjoyed five great revival services, visited with old friends and made a bunch of new friends along the way.

We appreciate the warm welcome we received this week and we look forward to going back again. God has wonderful people all over the world and we love to meet them.

Odie snapped a bunch of great pictures so that you could see this Revival In Pictures. I hope you enjoy. Thank you for dopping in.

The Cost of Living's Going Up, But So Am I

The cost of living is going up, but so am I.

It seems our leaders and some of our fellow countrymen have a short memory.

It was fourteen years ago this month, March 2008, when I first saw and purchased diesel for four dollars a gallon. This was not in California, but in central Florida. Gas and diesel prices were soaring all over the nation and common people began to have to make serious choices on buying fuel to get to work or paying bills.

It was the extreme gas and diesel prices in 2008 and 2009 that revealed the shakiness in the mortgage and financial markets and brought the economy to its knees during that time. Hundreds of thousands of families lost their homes, banks closed by the hundreds and big business was bailed out by the government in a big way.

Oil soared to $130 a gallon recently and gas and diesel prices followed. Two days ago, oil had gone back down 27%, but gas and diesel prices held firm. Maybe they will go down in a few days IF oil stays down or lowers more.

The consequences of even higher prices in 2022 are yet to be seen, but IF they stay up the ramifications are gonna be painful, that is for sure. Sky high fuel prices are coupled this time with horrible inflation across the board.

Families and individuals that have to drive are already feeling the pinch and are sure to feel it even more as this progresses. If you have to eat, as most of us do, you may be crying in the checkout lane at the supermarket. Ugh!

When diesel prices go up, we receive text and phone calls from concerned family and friends. They know it takes diesel to go and they are worried about how the prices affect us. Thank you. We appreciate your concern.

We are OK at this level for a while. We have tried to be prepared and the Lord has helped us every step of the way. Please do not worry about us. We learned in 2020, if worse comes to worst, we can stop alongside the road and have revival online.

IF it is God's will for us to go, He will always make the way for us to go. Where God leads, He Feeds. Where God guides, He provides. Where God directs, He protects. We may need to load up in the Green Machine and hit the road, but we are certain God will always make the way to do His will.

Let me use this discussion to remind us to pray for our nation, pray for our president, pray for our economy, pray for Ukraine, pray for Russia and pray for one another.

Keep in mind, the cost of living is going up, but we are too!

In these troubled times, pray will not hurt us at all.

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Word For Wednesday - Beloved, Believe Not Every Spirit

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Why in the world are we so gullible? We are supposed to be on the lookout for false prophets in the last days. Instead, the American church swallows everything whole!

I John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

We should not believe every spirit. We should put prophecy to the test. We should try the spirits. Are these modern day prophets teaching the truth? Are they confessing Christ? Are their prophecies true? Is their doctrine Biblical?

Beloved, Believe Not Every Spirit

Thank you for joining us today.

Mistakes and Experiments

We change time zones frequently. Mostly we go back and forth between Eastern and Central with occasional sojourns into Mountain and Pacific time zones. The time zone changes do not seem to bother us much until we make big jumps into Africa. We have detailed our adventures with adjustments before.

KJo and I struggled for three weeks when we returned from Australia and New Zealand in March of 2020. Our first three weeks of Coronavirus CAN'T Meeting were a blur to us. We could not sleep much day or night. The only time I was really sleepy was about 30 minutes before going live with revival each night.😊

Even though changing between Eastern and Central time zones does not seem to bother us much, Daylight Savings Time messes with all three of us! Changing to Daylight Savings in the spring and changing back in the fall, seems to rock our little world.

This year, I made a doozy of a mistake. We have been on Central Time for two months. Going from Alabama last week to revival in Georgia this week, moved us from Central to Eastern Time Zone. This past Sunday was also the beginning of Daylight Savings Time.

Which means,
We woke up Saturday morning on Central Time.
We woke up Sunday morning on Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

That difference meant we lost two hours between Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Odie informed me that was not good scheduling on my part. She is correct!

That prompted an experiment on my part. We were traveling Friday and Saturday, so theoretically, time did not matter.

Friday morning I set my phone two hours forward. I also had KJo change the clock by the dash of the bus and by the bed. I wanted my mind trained to Eastern Daylight Savings Time all day Friday and Saturday.

How did it work? Well...Pretty good. I was tired from camp meeting and from the stress of traveling Friday, so I had no problem laying down at 10:30 by my phone, even though it was only 8:30 Central. I woke up at 5:00 on the clock. That was 6.5 hours sleep, plenty in my world, so I got up and ignored the fact it was 3:00 AM Central.

Saturday, we fueled the bus, drove, unhooked the Jeep, carried in sound, parked the bus, hooked up utilities, set up sound and then spent the balance of the day trying to be prepared for revival. When I laid down before 10:00, I had been up and going for 17 hours and I had no trouble going to sleep even though it was only 8:00 PM Central.

I mostly slept until 6:00 Daylight Savings Time and got up well rested. I should be rested, that is 8 hours of pretty good sleep and that is pretty incredible for me. I felt good all day and it was easy to go to bed Sunday night.

Our voices were still on Central Time Sunday morning, but morning singing is always a little rough on us. It is difficult to warm up our voices and keep them warm during Sunday School.😊

So far, I would say my experiment worked this time. The trick was keeping my mind on the two hour forward time and ignoring Central time. If we had church Friday night or plans to meet someone Saturday at a specific time, it would probably have thrown me off.

Lesson learned? Watch the calendar better when scheduling revivals at the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. Odie will thank me for it!

Thank you for dropping in today.

The Weekend Dispatch 3/14/22

Our weekend began at Tanner Williams Holiness Church on Friday morning as we prepared to crank the BoggsMobile and drive east toward Georgia. As I was unhooking the water and electricity, Bro. Donnie and Sis. Gayla drove up so we had a great conversation with them while saying goodbye. We surely love the Apostle and the Epistle.

Then we cranked the BoggsMobile, drove to the upper parking lot and hooked up the Jeep. We were ready to roll.

The first leg of our journey was mighty slow working our way through Mobile, then under and across Mobile Bay.

We stopped at Love's in Loxley, Alabama to do the work of the evangelist. Leaving Love's, we were 90 minutes into our journey and had traveled only 45 miles.

For my own records, the dump station at the Loxely Love's is tight, but doable IF the parking lot is not too full.

The next 165 miles melted under our wheels and by 2:00 PM, we were pulling into Love's in Cottondale, Florida for the night. We considered resting a while and then finishing the trip, but we had enough excitement for one day.

We had a quiet night nestled among the trucks, except for some high winds at one point. The wind advisory forecast guessed a little low in my estimation, but it passed in a couple of hours.

Saturday morning we cranked up, fueled up and hit the road. This was our first time filling up since diesel prices have jumped radically. Wow! I am willing to pay a little extra to starve Mr. Putin's cash box, but we need to turn on the USA oil spigot to relieve the pressure.

The last 70 miles to Colquitt, Georgia was mostly non-interstate, but we took our time, moseying along Saturday morning. We arrived before noon, unloaded our equipment, parked and hooked up the electric.

After setting up our sound, we spent most of the rest of the day decompressing from both campmeeting and traveling. The weather was cool, so staying inside reading and resting was easy.

This is our first visit to Mt. Olive Holiness Church in Colquitt and we are super glad to be here with Pastor John Prickett and these great folks. Both services were great and Odie captured some great pictures too.

We should have many more pictures on Friday. Thank you for spending a few minutes with us today.

Odie’s Allentown March Meeting Notes 2022

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from The BoggsMobile. We are On The Road Again traveling to Georgia today.

Public Service Announcement
It is time to spring forward our clocks. Remember to prepare your clocks to change correctly tonight. We can not be late for church tomorrow!

Allentown March Meeting
We have been attending the March Meeting at Allentown for many years. I grew up loving Allentown Campmeeting. I have collected numerous happy memories!

The meeting has been a spiritual charging station for me! God has ministered to my life in countless services. I have many spiritual landmarks that happened during the March Meetings at Allentown.

The fellowship with friends, old and new, is always fantastic! Many of my friendships today were forged from spending time together at campmeeting.

I have been excited to be at the campmeeting at Allentown again! It was wonderful to feel God again at Allentown! I am grateful for the preaching, songs and altar services that encouraged my soul! We enjoyed getting to see many friends and fellowship with them!

In today's Mile Markers I have my notes from the services. We were able to attend two of the three days this year.

Thank you for reading today. I will see you next weekend.
