A Very Morgan Christmas 2020

We want to thank every person that joined us for any or all of our 12 Days of Christmas on our YouTube Channel. We enjoy it so much. You can view the 12 Days of Christmas Playlist HERE.

I hope that everyone had a good Christmas. This season has been difficult for many of our friends. Some are just coming through COVID, others are dealing with COVID now and way too many of our friends are having for Christmas for the first time without a loved one because COVID related death. Our hearts ache for many of our dear friends.

Let us please remember to pray for those that are suffering, those that are grieving and those that are hurting. We know that God is able to help and that He is our only real help.

Our Christmas gatherings were a little different and abbreviated this year, but we had a wonderful time with our families. Several individuals in both of our families have had COVID, but everyone was present and accounted for. Praise God for that!

Christmas Eve we spent the afternoon with our Morgan family. This is KJo's side of the family and we always have good food and good fun with them. This year was no exception.

Odie captured a few pictures of the afternoon.

Thank you for joining us today on Mile Markers.

Our View Out The Window 12/27/2020

We plan to leave Ohio later this week so our view will be changing soon by God's grace. Until then our view is the same, so here was my view outside the barn on Christmas Day about 3:00 PM.

Sunday Morning Sanity
Ephesians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

If we are indeed endued with the quickening Spirit, who causes us to die to sin, and live to God, let us show it in our deeds, that is, by holiness of life. 1599 Geneva Bible Notes

We hope you are having a good Christmas weekend. Thank you for stopping in.

Jesus Loves Me

Note From Davy:
Let us continue to pray for our nation and specifically this morning for the people of Nashville, Tennessee. It appears at this time, the explosion in downtown Nashville before daylight Christmas morning was intentional. God help us all.

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in with you for another Saturday. I hope you are doing well today. Yesterday was Christmas and we enjoyed time with our immediate families the last two days. Our traditions were necessarily a bit different this year, but we loved every minute.

I hope you were able to spend a little time with those that you hold dear.

I am thinking today about an awesome fact. Jesus loves me! Dad preached recently reminding us of the simple truth that Jesus does love us.

I learned this truth at a young age, but it was good to be reminded that I am loved by Jesus! It brings great comfort to my heart to know that He really does love me. Knowing that I am loved by Him helps me navigate life.

2020 has been full of uncharted territories for all of us. We do not know what is happening today, tomorrow, or next week.  I wish we could find the answers to correct everything in an instant, but it is impossible for us to magically fix our individual problems or heal our world.

Even in the midst of uncertainty in the world, we know that Jesus loves each of us unconditionally! I just wanted to take a moment to remind you that you are loved! Rest today in His love. We can be triumphant in the love of Jesus.

I am thankful that I have experienced the true love of Jesus.  His love is life changing! I want everyone to really know the power of His love for them.

As I have written this post I have been listening to the song Jesus Loves Me. I learned this song as a child. It is not just a children's song. Today I am choosing to hear it with fresh ears. I am letting the message wash over my soul. I have cried tears of joy as I rejoiced because of the gift of His love for me.

Click here to hear the Gaither Vocal Band's version of the song. This was released around 2006. This  GVB line up was Marshall Hall, Wes Hampton, Guy Penrod and Bill Gaither.

Thanks for reading. I am thrilled to visit with you. I am going to leave you with the lyrics of Jesus Loves Me. I encourage you to let them soak in and ponder them for a while.

Jesus Loves Me
Written by Anna Bartlett Warner

Verse 1
Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak, but He is strong
Chorus
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so

Verse 2
Jesus loves me He who died
Heaven's gate to open wide
He will wash away all my sin
Let His little child come in
Chorus
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so

Merry Christmas

Today is our final installment of 12 Days of Christmas on YouTube. We have enjoyed this so much and we appreciate you coming along for the ride. You can see all 12 Days HERE. Today's song is one of my favorites, Getting Ready For a Baby. We hope you love the whole video.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, dear friends! It has been and continues to be a tough year for many of you and I believe that we could all use a good dose of Christmas Joy! Bring it on, Lord!

I wrote this yesterday.

What is Joy?
What is joy?
It is not the tinsel and lights.
It is not sunny days and clear nights.
It is not an abundance of money and lots of toys.
It is not clothes for the girls and tools for the boys.
It is not a weekend in the mountains, a vacation to the ocean.
It is not a holiday trip to the city with its festive commotion.
It is not objects and things or a collection of stuff.
It is not fame and fortune or any of that fluff.
It's not?
Then what is joy?
It is contentment in your heart and peace in your mind.
It is opening your hand to help and a chance to be kind.
It is reaching out to others with cheerful giving
It is beholding life beyond yourself and stepping up your living.
It is rejecting hate, pushing anger aside and allowing love to ascend.
It is eliminating enemies by making them friends.
It is Christ abiding in your heart and affecting all you do.
It is love overflowing every action and goodness flowing through.
Happiness is fleeting, joy is tried and true.
Joy is everlasting, because HE lives inside of you!

Thank you, friends, for adding to the wonderful joy in our lives by your kindness and your friendship. We thank God for every one of you!

Getting Ready For Christmas

This day 11 of our 12 Days of Christmas on our YouTube Channel. Thank you for all of the kind comments over the last 10 days. We will have one more installment early Christmas morning and we hope you enjoy that one too.

Getting Ready For Christmas
KJo and Odie spent some time Wednesday finishing their shopping. They had completed most everything online, but they had a few things to purchase in person. I suppose they finished since they came home. I try to stay as uninformed in those matters as I can.

I did go to Home Depot today for some building supplies. Does that count as Christmas shopping?

I had a bus project that I struggled with most of the day. I hate it when I end up doing something three or four times to get it right, but that is the way it works for me sometimes. Once KJo came home, everything came together. I love that woman being around when I am working.

We have been eating entirely too much salsa and trimmings, but I have been enjoying each and every bite. We will be gone soon and we will be far from Acapulco salsa for many months IF things go as planned. I am stocking up. 😁

We are beginning our Christmas celebrations today, as carefully as possible. We are going to KJo's parents for a meal later today and then we will have a meal with my family on Christmas day. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and may God bless each and every one of you.

Thank you for stopping in today.

Vintage View Vednesday Navarre Part 2

This is Day 10 of our 12 Days of Christmas on our YouTube Channel. KJo and I wrote today's song many years ago.

Vintage View Vednesday
Hey all! I had a bunch more pictures to show you from Navarre, Florida in 2009. However, it has taken over 45 minutes to upload less than 30 pictures. The other 30 or so will have to wait.

Enjoy your Vintage View Vednesday.
