Vintage View Vednesday Richton Tent Revival 2011-2014

Can you believe that today is the last day of September 2020? Even though the world felt like it was standing still for several months this year, evidently the calendar pages kept flipping over. Nine months of 2020 are gone. Wow!

I heard someone say they were not going to buy a 2021 calendar until they saw the previews!😊

Revival

Vintage View Vednesday
Since we are in Revival in Richton, Mississippi this week, I thought it would be nice to walk through the dusty archives and find a montage of pictures from tent revivals in Richton. Wow! I have found some great, great pictures!

We began preaching revivals in Richton in the spring of 2008, but our first tent revival here was in the fall of 2011. We have been back every fall since. Revival in 2017 was inside the church due to weather and this year it is behind the church around the pavilion due to the city park being closed because of the pandemic.

I have pulled together a few pictures from tent revivals in 2011 through 2014 for Vintage View Vednesday. I hope you enjoy.

Thank you for stopping by.

A Bumper Remodel

We had another great service last night in Richton, Mississippi. Praise God for His help.

A Bumper Remodel
The BoggsMobile was due a small remodel and we finally got it done last week. Actually, the BoggsMobile needs lots of remodeling, but you have to begin somewhere. We began on the front bumper. There is nothing like starting at the beginning.
1995 Prevost XL
We have had an official license plate from the state of Ohio for over 12 years. When we put it on, we also purchased two custom frames and a mirrored plate from a store in Nashville. The frames had a lifetime guarantee, but by the time they faded and degraded, the Nashville store was destroyed in the big 2010 flood.

As of July 2020, the state of Ohio no longer requires a front license plate. The old front plate was looking warn and the mirrored plate was too. A change was in order. The frames have not looked good for years, but we left them on out of laziness I suppose. It was time to make the frames vanish.

I found these customizable plates on Amazon.

One evening, KJo helped me remove the frames and the old plates and install two new plates in their place.

I love the MICROBUS plate! The Prevost Community plate has been in the window since 2014 or so. I may come up with something else for that spot, but it is fine for now.

The front plate on the Green Machine was a mess too. It takes a lot of abuse rolling behind the bus. How do you like this?

2006 Scion xB Envy Green
The old plates will hang on the wall in the barn when we get back to the ranch.

Only 45' of remodeling left to go.

Thank you for stopping in today.

What's Up, Weekend? 9/28/2020

Thursday afternoon we drove the BoggsMobile through the woods 76 miles from Lusk Assembly north of Gilbertown, Alabama to First Assembly in Richton, Mississippi. It took us two hours.

Once we were in Richton and set up, we pretty much did nothing the rest of the evening until we enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Sis. Kim Morris and visited with our dear friends for a couple of hours, properly distanced of course.

Friday morning we zipped down to Mobile in the Green Machine to have lunch and a long overdue visit with The Apostle Donald C. Williamson and his dear wife the Epistle!

We have missed them so much, but they have been an amazing encouragement to us since the world turned upside down.

Saturday morning we carried our sound equipment into the church and had Soundcheck Church for a while.

Later in the day, Odie went back in with us and we sang and played for a few hours. We have no pictures of any of that.

Before we visited and ate with our friends again Saturday evening, I took a few minutes to change the air filter in the BoggsMobile. I usually buy this filter at Speedco and they are much cheaper than anywhere else. Since Love's purchased Speedco, I have not found one in stock.

I ordered one from Amazon at a good price and it appears to be new stock and in very good shape. I do not really change this on a set mileage or time rotation, I normally keep an eye on it and change as needed.

Sunday morning we had a super great service inside the church. The Lord was moving from the very beginning. I think that is a good indication the Lord is going to help His people this week.

And help us He did Sunday evening. We had a wonderful crowd with most of them sitting in chairs outside their cars. We are praising God for His help and looking forward to great things the rest of the week.

We reached one thousand subscribers on YouTube a week or two ago and that is the threshold to Livestream on our iPhone without the use of third party app. We tried it for the first time last night. It said we were live about 10 minutes before we were actually live so I need to understand some more about it.

That wraps up the weekend. Thank you for joining us!

The View Out The Front Window 9/27/2020

Sunday Morning Sanity
How do you eat a Thesaurus?
You curl the pages into synonym rolls
Just like Grammar used to make.

This is our view out the front window of the BoggsMobile this week in Richton, Mississippi.

Normally this time of year we are at the Richton Recreation Park and the front window view contains the Blue and White Gospel Tent. The park is still closed due to COVID and we are having revival this year under the pavilion behind the church. Hopefully, we will show you pictures tomorrow.

Almost Left Behind

Hey Friends,
Happy Saturday, this is Odie reporting in today from Richton, Mississippi. I hope that your weekend is off to a terrific start. We are still enjoying life on the road, one adventure at a time.

We began our summer circle on the road on a Tuesday morning in mid-June. Except for a week in West Virginia in late May, I had grown accustomed to life at home and I knew I needed to shift into road gear.

I asked Dad to give me a one hour notice before our estimated time of departure. I knew that would be plenty of time for me to tie up my loose ends at home. It is important to note that when we set a "roll" time it IS roll time, not start heading for the door time.

Dad sent me a text Tuesday morning around 7:20 AM. The bus would drive up the lane and would stop by my house to pick me up around 9:30. The two hour notice of our departure time was great! I would not have any problem being ready and waiting to go in two hours.

I rolled over and set my alarm for 8:15. I did not want to be left behind for this entire circle! Well, I drifted off into a fantastic deep sleep. I was thrilled to have some good sleep before my day started.

I found myself in dreamland. It really was a wonderful dream. I was visiting with family and friends. COVID was over, because we could hug again!

My dream was suddenly over. I awoke to a nightmare. When I looked at my watch to see the time, it was now 9:04! I never heard my 8:15 alarm!

YIKES, I jumped into action. I was frantically speeding around my house. The bus was supposed to be rolling in less than thirty minutes. I could hear it warming up that very moment.

Could I make it out of the door on time? It was officially time to rush faster than ever! I quickly got myself dressed and got the necessary last minute things done.

My heart was racing so fast! I did not want the BoggsMobile to roll without me. I was successful. Soon the time came to officially be On The Road Again.

When I climbed onto the bus the clock said 9:29 AM. Friends, miracles do still happen in 2020! I was ready early! I breathed a huge sigh of relief! I would not be left behind. Then I could laugh about my crazy morning.

Have you been left behind? I would love to hear your stories in the comments. I know that there are some hilarious stories out there. I did not want to be left behind for a full circle. Running late was scary enough!

Well, I will close for now. Thanks for stopping by to visit with me.
