Taking The Tent Down In Oklahoma City

We had a great day around home Monday July 4th. It all started with a great night of sleep. We pulled the bus in the barn Sunday evening so it was dark and quiet inside. I slept like a baby for the second night in a row. After weeks of running and tent revivals, two nights in a row of good sleep is wonderful! I am writing most of this post late Monday night but I am hoping for three in a row.

The morning started with work though. I had some work to do in the barn and I had to drag out 200 hundred feet of water hose and fill up the fresh water tank on the BoggsMobile. We had not added water since Friday June 24 in Wichita, Kansas and the tank was bone dry. We like showers so it was time to fill it up. Of course it was raining like cats and dogs the whole time I was outside messing with the hose!

We met Kelly Jo's parents and two nieces at Acapulco for lunch at 11:00 for another great meal and fellowship.

Kelly Jo and Odie spent the afternoon kicking around town with them while I changed the oil in the bus generator and worked on some ongoing projects at the barn.

By a little after 3:00 we were all gathering at my Dad's barn for a cookout for the 4th. It was wonderful to see most everyone in my immediate family along with several others that were there as well. We had a good time. I think Odie took some pictures that we will post later.

In today's post I have pictures of the tent take down in Oklahoma City. Everything came down smoothly, quickly and safely and that is exactly how I like it. Thanks to all the folks that worked so hard and efficiently to take it all down.

Today I will plan to keep working at the barn and drive to our City Reach Dayton location and see what needs to be done to prepare for setting up the tent. A brother went by Sunday and sent me some pictures and it looks to be in better shape than I thought it was. Let us hope so!

Thanks for reading and enjoy the pictures.

#27 Weekend Wounup and Weview

There is always plenty to do on the last day of tent revival but we had a few added steps on Friday. Bro. Larry and Sis. Rosemary Landress had stored my tent trailer since February. I had drove down to get it Wednesday and had sorted and strapped down some of the stuff inside on Thursday. Friday I hooked onto it with the bus and twirled it all around so it would all be in place to ride after church.

I also made sure it was ready to ride inside and blew all the dirt and debris out too.

Right before setting up the sound system Friday evening we loaded the Green Machine inside the trailer.

We had lunch with Bro. Mitch and Sis. Lynn Boggs and their four youngest boys and Pastor Jeremy Brooks and his family. We had a wonderful visit and before we knew it almost two hours had passed by.

We had a few friends drop by the tent from Kansas and Texas.

After setting up the sound system, Bro. Jimmie worked on getting the trailer ready for the tent as well. The tent take down goes so much smoother when everything is organized and ready to go.

We had a great crowd Friday night and a great service too. It was great to see folks praying and getting help from the Lord!

Something interesting happened at City Reach OKC Friday night. There was a woman that came to the altar and God helped her. She was telling later that she attended City Reach Wichita back in September. She just moved to Oklahoma City and passed by the Blue and White Gospel tent and decided to attend the last service. She had no idea it was the same tent she went to in Wichita with the same evangelist too.

She was amazed and so were we! It seems to me that God loves that precious woman and is going out of His way to speak that love to her! Praise God!

As soon as service was over Friday night we packed everything up and headed out!

Bro. Jimmie drove to Sapulpa, Oklahoma (his home base) and we drove about 215 miles to the rest area near Joplin, Missouri. We arrived about 2:45 AM and about an hour later I crashed into bed, exhausted from a long, long day.

This is the BoggsMobile and the tent trailer Saturday morning at the rest area.

We were going to meet Bro. Kurt McCrorey  around 10:00 AM at a truck stop in Joplin but they had a family member in the hospital in Springfield and were delayed. Bro. Kurt sent a couple of young men including his son to meet us about 2:15 Saturday afternoon.

It was an important meeting because they were bringing my library that Bro. Kurt has stored and protected lovingly for over 13 1/2 years!

After it was all strapped down, we loaded the car back in the trailer and hit the road about 3:00 PM. It was probably 90 degrees in Joplin and super sticky with humidity. Less than three hours up the road it was barely 60 degrees and felt wonderful!

We drove until about 8:00 and decided to get a bite to eat once we were east of St. Louis. We parked at Walmart and by then we decided to call it a day.

I probably slept better Saturday night than I have in weeks! We hit the road Sunday morning and though we had a safe trip, most of the day looked exactly like this!

We pulled into the Lazy OD Ranch about 5:00 PM on Sunday and Dad and Mom were waiting on us. It was super great to see them again after 6 months. I dropped the trailer in the driveway and Kelly Jo pulled the BoggsMobile in the barn. It is good to be back.

We hooked Dad's truck to the tent trailer and parked it next to the barn.

After catching our breath we slipped down to our favorite little Mexican place in Lebanon. I loved being back at Acapulco and evidently they were glad to see me. You think they know I love the salsa?

That pretty much wraps up our busy weekend. We had a great day Friday at City Reach OKC, I was reunited with my books on Saturday and drove nearly 900 miles to arrive safely at the barn. Not a bad weekend.

Today I hope to work some here and then tomorrow we will begin the physical preparations for City Reach Dayton.

Thanks for reading.

We stopped here Saturday evening just before dark. We intended to make it farther but I wimped out. We will finish the trip today by God's grace.

I hope you have a great Sunday.

My Parents My True Heroes

Hello friends, we have made it to another Saturday and another month. 2016 is whizzing by us so quickly. If you blink your eyes a few times Christmas will be right around the corner.

This week was great for us. We had a grand time at City Reach Oklahoma City. It was once again rejuvenating to watch God change lives!  It was our great privilege to work with so many dear friends. Thanks to everyone who made City Reach Oklahoma City possible! Dad posted lots of pictures yesterday and I know he will have more about OKC soon.

Today the BoggsMobile is supposed to keep rolling eastward toward Ohio. We left Oklahoma City last night after the tent was down and drove to Joplin, Missouri. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at home. We have some important stops along the way but we are on our way to the Lazy OD Ranch!

This week we will be busy planning and preparing for City Reach Dayton. We are scheduled to put the tent up next Saturday. I am excited about having City Reach in our home area. The dates are Sunday-Friday July 10-15. For more details on City Reach Dayton, including location and service times, check out Dad's post from Wednesday.  Please come join us if you can!

I have put up a few posts this year about my Holiness Heroes. I am honored to have many awesome people as my friends and Heroes. These are not just people I know from a distance but I know them as true friends. God has placed them in my life for my good and I feel very blessed!

Today I want to write about two of my greatest heroes. Who are they? I have the honor of living with them. My two greatest heroes are my very own Dad and Mom!

My parents show me Godly examples in everyday life. By example Dad and Mom have taught me to take life one day at time, trust God and to keep pressing toward the goal. Life is full of ups and downs and twist and turns and even dead ends, but we must keep moving forward, growing in grace and knowledge and truth.

Also I am grateful they encouraged me to dream big. They have challenged me to believe that I can do anything that needs to be done by God's grace and my own determination. I appreciate that even though I do have some built in limitations they have not allowed me to use those limitations as excuses.

They have taught me to live life despite of the obstacles that have blocked my path. They are the first ones to hold me when I cry, to wipe my tears and lend a helping hand. They are also the ones I laugh the hardest with. They have personally demonstrated that laughter helps heal some of the heartaches of live.

Mom and Dad are my biggest cheerleaders. They are also my best and most trusted critics. I treasure their influence in my life. I am so thankful they encourage and push me to be the best person I can be. Most of all they have given me a Godly foundation and pointed me to rely fully on God and His Word.

I am thankful to live in a family where being a Christian is top priority. They have struggled with decisions and have been tormented by obstacles but ultimately being a Christian was the top priority. I picked up on that at a young age and it affected me deeply.  Their decision as a young couple to follow the Lord in everything has changed their lives and my life!

Mom and Dad, thank you for the life you have given me! I truly appreciate all you do to make my life easier.  Thanks for being my support system. Thank you for placing a hunger for holiness in me.

Tomorrow is my Mother's birthday, Happy Birthday, Momma!

Earlier in the week was my parent's wedding anniversary. I want to say, Happy Anniversary to my two favorite Heroes!  I love you both more than I can express with words!

My cousins, the Isaacs, sing an awesome song titled Heroes. They recorded it several years ago. It addresses the parents of special needs child and also those that have adopted  a child. Those parents change countless lives for the better through their love and unselfish support. I cry every time I truly ponder this song's lyrics.

One night when we attended a service with the Isaacs, they dedicated this song to my parents and I was proud for them to receive just a little smidgen of the honor they deserve. Since I entered this world my parents have been my stronghold. They are definitely my Heroes. Below is a YouTube link to the beautiful song sang by the Isaacs.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a fantastic 4th of July weekend!
