Travel Day-Ohio to Alabama

Pa and Ma brought Odie to the Ranch just as we were hooking the Green Machine to the BoggsMobile Tuesday morning. It was very hard to leave them behind this time but when it is time to go there is only one thing that can be done. So after hugs all around and prayer, we hit the road about 9:45 AM.

My Dad and Mom are so precious. They do so much behind the scenes to help keep us on the road and to take care of the Lazy OD Ranch most of the year while we are gone. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts. We love you.

Even with all of the construction I-65 in Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama we were able to move right along most of the day. The speed limit was lowered in the construction zones but it only slowed to a crawl in few places. The temperatures were in the 70's most of the day so that made it a great day to travel too.

We made such good time that we could have pulled into Ellisville, Mississippi by 9:00 PM central time. That would have been a shade over 12 hours driving time but I know my limits and I am trying to learn to respect them. I drove 9 hours and 524 miles and that is enough. If I press on through and finish the day at 700+ miles I know that I will pay dearly for it the next several days.

I have nearly 400 miles to drive on Saturday and then nearly 300 miles to drive on Monday after a weekend full of services. With all that in mind I shut down a little early yesterday and I will finish the drive to Ellisville this morning by God's grace.

We are really looking forward to being with Pastor Kenny Morris and all of his folks for service tonight. We dearly love being with Bro. Kenny, Sis. Joan and our other friends in Ellisville. Tonight is going to be a special treat for us.

Another special treat will be getting to be at Minister's Restoration at First Assembly in Richton, Mississippi Thursday and Friday. We are really looking forward to being with Pastor Scott Morris and all the preachers that will be in attendance. It is going to be awesome.

Well, time to roll in a little bit. Thanks for reading.

Last Day At Home For A While

We spent Monday trying to wrap things up in Ohio. We will be gone a few months this time so there were several things that needed to be done. The tent trailer needed a new license sticker, I had quite a bit of business to take care of, I needed to buy several things from Lowe's and Rural King for City Reach and the barn had a seemingly never ending list of projects to complete. Thankfully I was able to make headway on most of the things and the rest can wait until another day.

We did make time for a couple trips to Acapulco. We ate and early lunch with the Millikins, the McCoys from Castle Rock, Colorado and the Lambs (Sis. Tara McCoy's parents)

It was great to see our friends again. The McCoys are headed back to Colorado right now so it was nice to catch them before they left. We hate to leave the Millikins but it is great to know we should see them in Wichita City Reach very soon.

We also had a late supper with my parents and my brother Steve. I tried something new last night. I ordered the Acapulco Taco Salad. It was very, very good but I left the wonderful gigantic taco shell on the plate as bad as I hated too.

I was mapping out my route to Mississippi and noticed that the interstate looks like a giant construction zone all the way down. This could be a really fun trip!

We are planning to leave this morning and drive as far as we can. I would imagine we will stop in Alabama some where after driving about 500 miles or so. We are supposed to preach Wednesday night service for Pastor Kenny Morris and in Ellisville and then we will be at the Minister's Restoration Thursday and Friday in Richton. We are really looking forward to it.

Thanks for reading.

Weekend Woundup and Weport August 24

This weekend was filled with friends, family, food and fellowship. Dryden Rd. Indoor Fellowship meeting ended Friday night with several folks seeking for salvation and God blessing his folks in a great way. We stayed up way too late but we were enjoying the fellowship of God's people and hated to see it come to an end.

Since we were up too late it was a little difficult to push ourselves out of bed early Saturday morning so we could get the BoggsMobile moved down to the Lazy OD Ranch and get started on a few projects. We did get cranking though and we pulled up beside the barn about 9:00 AM.

I worked on a few different projects in the barn and then we met the Millikins at Acapulco about 11:30. We had a wonderful meal as usual and really enjoyed visiting with our friends. The Millikins were at the Dryden Rd. meeting Thursday and Friday and they are now in revival at Corwin Pentecostal Church until Wednesday.

After Acapulco we drove to Trader's World flea market and walked around until our feet hurts and our pockets were quite a bit lighter. I love the flea market.

Here is my twin selling Reuben sandwiches.

Carli and I barely escaped the clutches of a smiling gorilla!

Saturday evening we spent working at the barn, mowing the grass and getting the sound ready for Homecoming at Dodds. We spent most of the night praying, hoping and waiting for news about my Aunt Hulda Livingston that I mentioned in yesterday's post. It seemed like a long night for us but not near as long as it was for my parents and many of Aunt Hulda's family that waited at the hospital. Please continue to pray for them.

Sunday was Homecoming at Dodd's Free Pentecostal Church. I appreciate Pastor Kelly Rogers inviting us to take part again this year. It is an honor to be asked to preach in the church I grew up in and a very special privilege to preach the Homecoming service. We had a great service, a wonderful response in the altar and a fine meal afterward.

Kelly Jo made a special salad that was delicious and beautiful too.

After a full day at Homecoming and visiting a bit with my Aunt's family we slipped into revival at Corwin to hear the Millikins sing and hear Bro. Jimmy preach. We really enjoyed the service. I hope some of the local folks that read the blog can be in revival with them the next three nights.

Our plan has been to take care of some business things today and then hit the road Tuesday morning on our way to Mississippi. We are supposed to be in Ellisville, Mississippi Wednesday night and to be at Minister's Restoration in Richton, Mississippi Thursday and Friday. I will let you know if any of that changes.

That wraps up our weekend. God bless you for reading.
