Desert Cove Assembly - El Mirage, Arizona

We are back at Desert Cove Assembly for another revival and we are having a blast. We love these folks so good.  They know how to have church, how to have fun, how to treat people and they know how to feed a fat boy! With my strong passion for Mexican food this is a perfect place for me! You can see some pictures from Humberto's at the bottom of the post.

We are eating our way through another revival AND having good fellowship and good services too. I told you yesterday that Sunday services were good and Monday night was good as well. I wish the preaching was better but I have no one to blame for that but myself. I am working hard to correct  that situation...

We not only enjoy being at Desert Cove but we enjoy being in the valley of the sun. We love the Phoenix area. This week the temperature is supposed to be in the 70's during the day and around 50 at night. Since December and January will be spent mostly in Ohio, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas we are really savoring the nice weather. It will probably be a while before we are this warm again.

Kelly Jo and Odie enjoy the malls and stores in this area even when they are not buying. It is a really pleasant place to shop although I don't have much experience in that area. Although the Phoenix area is huge and the traffic can be a bear, it is pretty easy to get around. Bro. Jorge Stevens has provided his truck for us to use this week so the girls won't have to walk to the mall! lol

Desert Cove has a house a few miles from the church that we are staying in this week. We miss the BoggsMobile so bad so it is nice to have a private place and some room to stretch out. We have had nice accommodations on this trip in every place but having your own place is best. Changing beds is hard on me and I have been reminded why I spend the money to take my bed with me. We pray that every home is blessed for opening their doors to us. It is a big job to keep me especially if they have to feed me!

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Fresno, California to Phoenix, Arizona

Saturday was a travel day and for a day spent in airports and small airplanes it was actually a good day. We have spent three out of the last four Saturdays in airports and this one went the smoothest. The other two days started very early in the morning following very little sleep and we rushed all day. This Saturday we had a full night to rest, all morning to pull things together and a long layover in Los Angeles so the day was much better.

We started the day at FAT. That is the designation for the Fresno Airport. It's pretty appropriate in my case! They have replicas of the giant Sequoias in the lobby. Although not as impressive as the real thing they are very neat and lifelike. Fresno is a real easy airport to use and easy is always better when we are dragging suitcases and pushing the wheel chair. Security was a less strenuous on Odie but the TSA wasn't very careful while searching a suitcase.

After the layover in Los Angeles we had a short flight into Phoenix and Pastor Jimmy Munoz picked us up and took us to the house we are staying in this week. It was very late when we climbed into bed but after good rest we hit the ground running this morning. We had good services on Sunday, good Mexican food Sunday afternoon and we are expecting more great things the rest of the week.

We will try to put up pictures of the church folks tomorrow. Here are pictures from Saturday. God bless you all.

Happy 40th Birthday, Theresa!

This is my sister in the picture with Odie. Her name is Theresa Osborn and she is 40 years old today! It is so hard to believe it's been 40 years since Mom and Dad brought her home from the hospital. Birthdays do not bother me in the least but it is a little strange for my little sister to be 40. Several of our friends helped us prank  Theresa on her birthday a few years ago so we will take it easy on her today.

We love you, Theresa! You are my favorite sister. Happy 40th Birthday!

Avenal, California - Pastor Doug Spencer

Friday we drove down to Avenal to be in service with Pastor Doug Spencer and his folks. If his name sounds familiar and the people look familiar that's for good reason. Bro. Doug Spencer is the oldest son of Bro. Charles Spencer at Riverdale. He is also an Associate Pastor and Principle of the School at Riverdale. His whole family is involved deeply in both churches and the school. To say they are a family busy working for the Lord would definitely be an understatement.

We always enjoy going to Avenal and last night was no exception. We appreciate the warm hospitality of Bro. Spencer and his family. The people responded great to the singing and preaching and several received help in the altar. I love watching folks respond to God's Word. It is amazing the change that takes place in lives when that happens.

They brought the bus down from Riverdale so it was good to have several of them there as well. We knew some were coming but all the rest were a surprise to us. After church we headed to In N Out for wonderful greasy hamburgers and great fellowship!

Today we will be flying to Phoenix by way of Los Angeles. We are suppose to be in Phoenix late tonight and begin revival tomorrow morning. We are looking forward to seeing Pastor Jimmy Munoz and our great friends at Desert Cove. We are also looking forward to all the good Mexican food! Stand by for pictures coming soon! Until then, here are some great pictures from last night.

Souls Harbor Holiness Church - Fresno, California

Last night we were in service at Souls Harbor Holiness Church in Fresno. This is the church that Bro. Anthony Munoz pastors. Bro. Anthony is still in the hospital due to his treatment for cancer but we were honored to stand in his pulpit and minister to his congregation again. These are dear friends of ours and they are under a heavy burden for their pastor and his family. I know that God is going to help them all and we could sense that last night in the service. It was good to feel God ministering to His people.

Pastor Jared Burris and some of his folks came down for service last night as well. It was great to see them one more time before we leave the state on Saturday. Bro. Jared and his family have been busy moving this week so we appreciate them taking time to come. It was also great to have friends there from Merced and Raisin City. It was almost like fellowship meeting.

Several of us also went to Five Guys afterward. It was good as always. Here are a few pictures from last night. Please pray for Pastor Munoz, his family and his church.
