Here are some more pictures from Trinity Holiness Church in Blair, Oklahoma. We ended two weeks of revival last night with Youth Rally and what a time we had! Great friends, great service and great food afterward. Bro. Hudson and his people have treated us so very good. We leave this morning with a longing in our heart to stay but duty pushes us on....

If all goes well we will end today in Neosho, Missouri and we will start revival for Pastor James Link on Sunday morning. This is another place that we have never preached revival and we are looking forward to it. Please pray that our travel is safe and trouble free.

BoggsMobile Ready to Roll

Long story short... Hole in air line fixed. Thank the Lord. The search and learning curve has revealed some more problems but we are ready to roll tomorrow by His grace. Youth Rally tonight so I must be off!

Driving Tent Stakes/Reinventing the Wheel

Bro. Larry Landress and I have been looking for better ways to drive tent stakes. I believe the 48 ft round tent I have ordered has 26 stakes. If it is set up as 48x70 it will have more. That is a lot of stakes to drive over the course of a summer. Especially if we set up on clay, gravel or a parking lot!

Bro. Landress has access to a used electric jack hammer at a decent price and it will surely drive the stakes. I have found out since I was with him that the rental tent industry relies heavily on the electric jack hammer. It is pretty heavy so he has also been trying to see if a large Milwaukee hammer drill will do the job.

Pastor Hudson mentioned an air powered t-post driver. I have looked up several and the one below is the best I have found.

Now this would be awesome for driving tent stakes....




It is also pretty pricey! It lists for nearly $2000.

Any opinions or ideas? (Especially from some of you guys that helped me swing a sledge hammer last summer! Lol)

Revival, Air Leaks, Chairs and Tent Revivals

Revival is going good at Blair. Pastor Hudson scheduled two weeks and we are now at Wednesday of the second week and things are still cranking. These folks love to have church so they make it easy on us to sing and preach. We have more pictures of the folks and we will probably post them Friday or Saturday. Friday is Youth Rally so I may wait until we snap some pictures that night as well.

I am still working on the air line that is leaking. A very nice gentleman (Bob) from Indiana sent a piece of the hose and a fitting so I could show people what I was talking about and possibly use the fitting for the repair. I spent the morning going several places and explaining the situation. I was finally pointed to a diesel mechanic who thinks he can use the parts Bob sent and also use his idea to fix it. He wants me to bring it in on Friday. Pray for me that I can make the right decision. I am very picky who works on the BoggsMobile.

All three comments in response to the last post about Chairs for Tent Revival have chosen black. I was really hoping for more of a response so mosey on over there and leave a comment. It is looking like black may win the day. Put your two cents in either way...

We now have 13 tent revivals firmly scheduled for this year. That is probably about all that I dare to fit in. We are still receiving calls inquiring about tent revivals so we may be doing these for a while. I am certainly open to whatever, wherever the Lord leads.

I need to prepare some more for preaching tonight. Thanks for praying for us.

Chairs For Tent Revival - Which?

It is time to get serious about ordering chairs for Tent Revival season. Our first revival of the year starts 11 weeks from yesterday in Citronelle, Alabama. That will slip up on me quick. The chairs I used last year belong to Bro. Whiffen so they were returned with the tent. They were light weight and folded very small which is very important with hauling everything around the country. The one drawback to them was their 220 lb. weight capacity.

I have found the same light weight chair in an 800 lb. capacity for around $10 including shipping. That comes to a shade over $2000 for 200 chairs. I know that is a bunch of money but we have to have them unless we expect everybody to stand up! This is the best deal any where online and the company is great to work with. They will even ship to a home or church without a loading dock. THAT is a big help. Most more expensive places would only ship that many chairs to a loading dock.

We do have a decision to make before we order them. The decision should really be black or white. In fact it does come down to black or white. Do we order black chairs or white chairs? There are some pros and cons of each.

These chairs are going to be handled dozens times in the first year. They will be leaned against poles, stacked on the ground, carried 6-8 at a time and will travel several thousand miles strapped in the trailer. They will be used outside in all kinds of weather and endure some rough treatment. White or black these chairs are going to get scratched, dirty and stained. 

The one white chair we ordered as a sample was scratched with light use in the bus in just a few days. We are sure these will show wear and tear much more quickly. 200 white chairs will look nice and neat under our new white and blue tent. In the heat of the day I believe the white chairs will absorb less sun and be cooler to sit in.

The black chairs would probably hide stains and scratches better and would be easier to touch up with a marker. 200 black chairs will still look nice and will probably hide scratches better but will they be hotter in the sun?

What do you think? Which chairs would you recommend we buy and for what reason if any? I will tell you that there is a consensus of opinion in my house and among others that we have asked but I am the lone dissenter. Everybody we have asked agrees together but I still lean toward the other color. I won't tell you which until I hear from some of you.... It doesn't really matter to me I just want to spend $2000 wisely.

Speaking of $2000... These need to be ordered shortly after February 1st. I mentioned earlier (In Odie's Newsletter I think) that we had some money toward the purchase of these but not all of it. God has proven faithful in this whole venture so I am confident when the time comes there will be money to pay for it. God provided the money for every Tent Revival last year. He provided the money for the new tent and plenty of places to put it up. I believe God will provide this as well.

Revival Pictures - Blair, Oklahoma

We are enjoying our first revival in Blair, Oklahoma. Bro. and Sis. Hudson are fine folks and their church is full of hospitality. We visited and preached here on Easter morning in 1996 when my sister Theresa and her husband Jay lived in Lawton about an hour away. Jay was in the army and stationed there.

Many years ago Bro. Hudson had a burden to see a church pioneered in Lawton. He and his church and others financed a church plant in Lawton and as a result Jay and Theresa are saved today! They were the first fruits of that church plant effort. I told you these were fine folks! The Lawton church is still going strong. Bro. Brandon Murray Pastors the church and they should be here tonight. HERE are a few pictures of when we preached revival for them in 2009.

I thank God for these people and their desire to see souls saved from sin into the kingdom of God!

Protect and Serve

Hey everybody, this is Odie! I have been making Dad shoulder most of the blogging load but I have been feeling pretty guilty about it. I want to get back in the swing of blogging in 2012. I am so glad that Dad does a wonderful job with keeping everyone updated on our daily lives!

The man in the picture with me above is Bro. Joe. Bro Joe is a police officer who attends church here in Blair, Oklahoma. In fact he is the Chief of Police. Wednesday night after service he saved me from a great fall! Mom had pulled my power chair up behind me. Some how when I backed up to sit down in the chair my judgement was off. Meaning I was headed directly and quickly toward missing the chair and crashing on the carpet covered concrete floor.

Since I have very little balance once I start down there is no reversing the tide. Bro. Joe saw me going down and came to my rescue. He threw down what was in his hands, caught me and guided me in the right direction. Thanks to Bro. Joe I was saved much hurt and embarrassment!!!

When I was settled he told me "I am here protect and serve". I am so thankful for his service and protection!! His services even come in handy at church for the evangelist daughter.

I am gonna have get my rear view mirror working right so I can avoid another incident. LOL
