Revival In Pictures Ellisville, Mississippi

It is time today for Revival In Pictures from Ellisville, Mississippi. Odie captured some great pictures of revival this week and we are happy to show them to you.

We have had a wonderful time this week during the day and the services have been tremendous. Praise God for His touch in each service. Hallelujah!

Pastor Kenny Morris and his people have been our dear friends for many years and they always roll out the red carpet for us when we are here. This week has been no different. I think we may be spoiled with all the kindness and love. Thank you, Bro. Kenny, Mama Joan and all of our friends!

This is the first week this year that we have been scheduled to preach a full week. In the fall of 2021 we had revivals Wednesday or Thursday through Sunday. In 2022 all of our revivals have been Sunday through Wednesday.

It was time to step it up a notch and try to go all week. I have made it through Thursday so far and I will reserve my final thoughts about it until later. I am thankful that I have felt pretty good each evening. Thank you, friends, for praying for us.

Here is the Revival In Pictures. Thank you for stopping by.

No Time For Laziness

I wrote recently about going back through our Mile Markers in 2020 and 2021 and finding some good posts that I do not remember much about writing. I think some of them are worth repeating. Maybe I will remember some of them this time. This is one of them.

No Time For Laziness
I often tell my wife and daughter. There must be an easier way for a lazy man to make a living.😍

Sometimes, I think that I might slide into being lazy. Yes, that is the truth. However, there are a few things that keep me from sliding into a life of slothfulness.

Number One: I am a Christian and Christians can not be lazy. Was Christ, the son of God, Lazy? Absolutely not! What is a Christian? A Christian is Christ like. Therefore a Christian can not live a lazy life and live up to the name of Christ. It is not an option.

There may be men and women that go by the name Christian and yet they are verifiably lazy. Please take note of a lazy "Christian" and remember there is another name for that type of Christian.

1. I refuse to be lazy because I am saved, I am a Christian.

Number Two: I am 55 years old and I still live in dread of my Dad catching me being lazy. My Dad taught us to work, emphasized the importance of work and set a blazing example of work. Every time I am tempted to be lazy, I hear my Dad's voice, I understand his teaching and I think of His example.

I hear my Dad saying, "What's wrong with you? You got the dropsy? Stand up. Get your hands out of your pockets. Nobody wants to hire you with your hands in your pockets"

1. I refuse to be lazy because I am saved, I am a Christian.
2. I was raised with an emphasis on work and warned of the dangers of laziness.

Number Three: I am married to the hardest working woman that I know and definitely the hardest working evangelist wife. Her example inspires me and compels me to get up and go find something productive to do.

KJo is like the energizer bunny. She keeps going and going and going. She takes care of me, the bus, Odie and then helps me work on the barn, the house, the bus and the yard. She carries sound equipment and hooks it up too. She breaks it down, rolls up cords and I have to threaten her to keep her from carrying heavy speakers.

She buys groceries, cooks, cleans, washes laundry and then does it all over again. She helps me with the bookwork of Boggs Family Ministries and she also helps me with our personal finances. If I am not real careful, she will do the things I need to do and leave me to wallow in my laziness.

No, I can not be lazy and allow my wife to do it all. My Lord would not be happy. My Dad would not be happy. Kelly Jo would not be...Well, I am not sure that is correct. She might still be happy working and me being lazy, but  I could not live with myself.

Therefore, I must get to work. I have spent enough time on this today, I better get busy!

Thank you for dropping in.

A Word For Wednesday See That Ye Be Not Troubled

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Jesus was detailing some of the events and signs leading up to the end of time in Matthew 24. He tells us of false prophets, wars, earthquakes, pestilences and several other things the world will see and experience before and during the end.

Notice what Jesus inserts in one of the key verses.

Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

In the middle of all the turmoil and uncertainty, see that ye be not troubled. Wow! With wars and rumors of wars and nation against nation and famines and pestilences and earthquakes and so much more, see that ye be not troubled

How in the world can we keep from being exceedingly troubled when everything around us in falling apart. It can not be done in this world. It requires steady assistance from another world. With God's help, we can hold together when the world is falling apart.

Russia is invading Ukraine. I should say Russian leadership has ordered its army to invade Ukraine. It seems there is lacking a groundswell of support from the Russian people. The Ukrainian people are suffering horribly from this unprovoked attack.

Yet, Ukraine is putting up a brave, courageous and amazing defense of their nation and their people. It has been incredible to read the accounts.

There is no telling what the Russian dictator may do. He has threatened to use nuclear weapons and it is nearly certain he intends to expand his reach into other eastern European nations. He is breaking longstanding international rules and upsetting world peace in ways not seen since WWII.

No wonder people are speculating that this may be the build up to the beginning of the end. I have no way of knowing. But I know one thing for absolutely sure. Jesus said when you see all of this, see that ye be not troubled.

The end of days will not slip up on God unaware, friend. God is still in control. Please help us pray for the Ukrainian people, the Russian people and for thousands fleeing the area.

Bro. Rick Bradley and his family are missionaries living in Ukraine. They have narrowly escaped with their lives and are now in another country. They are on their way to an American Embassy to get their paperwork in order to come back to America for now.

Please pray for them. They need God's help and I am sure they need financial assistance too. We have helped them and I will list a couple ways to get money to them below.

Pray, friends and see that ye be not troubled. Thank you for reading.

Two Years and Counting - March 1, 2022

Wow! Is it March 1st already? How in the world does this keep happening? It seems we began 2022 a few days ago and two months, 1/6 of the year is already gone.

It is amazing to me how time marches on so swiftly. In some ways it seems like time has been standing still during two years of pandemic, but in other ways, March 2020 to March 2022 has zoomed by in a flash.

Two years ago we were finishing revival in Ellisville, Mississippi and KJo and I were busy getting the BoggsMobile to Tennessee and Odie to Ohio. We were leaving for a five week trip to Australia and New Zealand. We were planning to vacation for two weeks and preach for three weeks while meeting new friends and exploring parts of Australia.

We had one eye on the news of the new coronavirus in China and we were aware the world could change pretty quickly. While we were in Ellisville the last week of February 2020, we purchased N95 masks and I also had KJo stock the bus up with a few weeks of groceries before we left.

When the world turned upside down and our trip was cut short, we had weeks of groceries when we arrived at the bus in Tennessee. Two days later we were back home preparing to have a week of online revival during the initial shutdown.

That revival lasted 61 nights before moving it to a church in West Virginia for another week for a total of nearly ten weeks of online revival. KJo, Odie and I were so blessed to be part of that revival and we have lifted our hearts toward God many times since then to praise Him for it.

We zigged and zagged the rest of the year, preaching all the revivals we could and dodging Covid when necessary. 2021 brought our own personal experience with Covid and that funneled here to where we are in March 2022. Wow! What a ride!

Here we are in Ellisville again for revival and it feels like we have come full circle. Can we dare to hope that maybe we are turning the corner with this worldwide mess?

I wonder what the next two years will bring? One thing I know, God knows what is in store and that is enough for me. He's got it all in control!

Hold to God's unchanging hand, friends! Thank you for stopping by today.

The Weekend Dispatch 2/28/22

Ellisville, Mississippi is obviously west of Citronelle, Alabama, but Thursday morning, we got up, jumped in the Jeep and headed northeast instead. We were scheduled to meet some family in Thomasville, Alabama for catfish and fellowship.

We had a great lunch with my brother, Steve and his daughter Deidre, her husband Ben and their son Charles Ray. As you can see, there were lots of smiles all around.

After lunch, we drove a few miles to Ben and Deidre's house and met Chloe Jean for the first time. This may have been our first time meeting Chloe, but we have been praying for her quite regularly. Odie told you about that Saturday and asked you to pray with us.

After that, we drove back to Cedar Creek Church intending to crank the bus and drive. However, the spirit of slumber overcame me and I asked Pastor Templeton for permission to stay overnight and leave Friday morning.

Tacos must have been involved at some point, because I have a picture.😍

Friday we cranked the bus, unhooked the utilities, hooked up the Jeep, drove 93 miles to Ellisville and reversed all of the above. That short sentence and doing the work of the evangelist, covered my whole day.

Saturday, we carried in our sound equipment and set up.

We did not film the soundcheck. We were dealing with a buzz in the system and our soundcheck lasted over four hours spread over three sessions including Sunday morning. We finally got it with the help of Pastor Andy Stringfellow.

Saturday afternoon, Pastor Kenny Morris picked us up and we drove an hour to eat at Berry's in Magee. Wow! It was so good!

Sunday was a beautiful day all the way through! It is so good to be back in Ellisville. We have missed these people so much. We have seen many of them in Richton in the fall of 2020 and the fall of 2021, but we are super glad to be here right amongst 'em!

Wow! It was an amazing Sunday! Praise God! We are planning to be here in revival all week long. Thank you for praying for us.

Thank you for reading today.

We are praying diligently this week for the Ukrainian people.

Meeting and Praying For Chloe Jean Shoemaker

This is Odie checking in today. Thank you for joining me. If all goes well, we should be in Ellisville, Mississippi by the time you read this and we are very excited about that.

Thursday was a special day for me and I want to share it with you. I also want to ask for special prayer for the newest member of our family. I will get to that in a moment.

We have been in Citronelle, Alabama all week and that is only about one hour and twenty minutes from my first cousin, Deidre. She lives there with her husband Ben Shoemaker, son Charles Ray and new baby Chloe Jean.

My Uncle Steve and Aunt Karen are visiting them this week so that was added incentive for us to drive up for lunch and hugs. The truth is, we really did not need any extra incentive, Chloe Jean was enough. 😁😍

Thursday we left the BoggsMobile in Citronelle and drove the Jeep to Thomasville. We met Uncle Steve, Ben, Deidre and Charlie for lunch at the catfish place in Thomasville. It was so good to see them all.

After lunch, we loaded up and drove a few miles to Deidre's house to be introduced to Chloe Jean.

Chloe is only about a month old and has not been feeling well. In fact, she was in the hospital recently and she is supposed to have more tests run soon. She needs a miracle touch from the Lord and we are asking you to pray for Chloe Jean. Will you do that for us?

Chloe Jean is so precious! Please, please, please help us pray for this sweet little girl. We know that God is able to heal her completely even when we do not know exactly what she needs. He knows!

Thank you, Deidre, for providing some of these pictures.

Thank you, friends, for joining us.
