Revival In Pictures - Forts Lake Assembly

Breaking Schedule Change News:
Our revival next week at Cedar Creek near Citronelle, Alabama has been canceled due to a widespread flu outbreak, including Pastor Darius Templeton. We are sad to miss Cedar Creek this time around, but there is not much you can do about the flu raging through. I pray they all get well quickly.

Revival In Pictures

We have had an unseasonably cold week in south Mississippi but we are having a wonderful revival. Tuesday night was below 20 with some freezing rain that froze the roads solid. There were wrecks all over Wednesday morning and then the temperature plummeted again Wednesday night. It was cold again last night too! It is not cold compared to the north but for a region that does not see cold often, It Is Cold!

Those three cold nights the crowds were lower but the altar services were great. The folks that were able to press through the cold were ready to have church and really responded to the preaching. I really appreciate that.

I am happy to say that it has warmed up considerably and the BoggsMobile and the Boggs family are nearly thawed out. I think every one in the south is glad for the cold to move on. Most of the folks love the novelty of snow, but the newness wears thin pretty quick!

Tonight is the grand finale of revival at Forts Lake. We are sure to have a wonderful service with Pastor Tim Cauley and all the folks. Come be with us when you can.

I will leave you with the Revival In Pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Odie Is Excited!

I am running short on time this morning so only a small post. It may be a small post but it carries a great big bunch of excitement. Odie is bouncing off the walls! If she does not tear the BoggsMobile to pieces, she is still going to be sore and bruised!

We have a lot of great pictures that my Dad and Steve took from the siding install. I am planning to post them when the siding is completed. However, yesterday evening cousin Lisa sent these pictures and sent Odie into orbit.

This is the first completed side of the house as far as siding is concerned.

More

And more.

These were obviously taken at the end of the day and Lisa apologizes for the dark pictures, but we appreciate her forwarding them to us. The color is Deep Ocean blue and you will be able to see that in later pictures.

Here is one Dad took the first day as the first couple of pieces were being nailed on. Maybe you can see the color a little better.

That is all for today. Tomorrow we should have Revival In Pictures from Forts Lake. We are having a great time here, even with all of the historic cold and ice!

Thanks for dropping in. I hope you have a great day.

Vintage View Vednesday Sony Digital Mavica 1999

It is time for another Vintage View Vednesday post. Thank you for all the positive comments, texts and emails in response to our first Vintage View Vednesday post last week. That was cool. I appreciate the feedback.

Yesterday's post was kind of accidentally a post with vintage pictures. You responded great to that post too. If you read that early in the morning, you might want to check it again. I updated it later in the day with quite a bit of information about the pictures.

I told you we have a bunch of pictures in our archives and the pictures I am posting today are reaching way back. These pictures were taken in the late 90's with the first digital camera I had ever seen, at least the first I remember seeing.

My brother Steve purchased a Sony Digital Mavica in March 1998 for over $700. It could take 480x640 or 720x1068 pictures and also 15 or 30 second video depending on resolution. The video was max 320 pixels across.

The storage for the pictures was 1.4MB 3.5" floppy disc. It was so cool to take picture with his camera. I have a few batches of pictures taken with it and I will post more at a later date.

These pictures today were taken at various times in 1999. We were living in Kansas at the time so we missed these events. I remember the thrill we received when Steve would send a CD with pictures.

Holy Batboy, Robin!

Isaac feeding Victor. This may have been the day Isaac learned there are limits to everything in life!😛

Deidre, Victor and Isaac in the Cemetery on the bench near our little Ali's grave.

Baby Lauren in Steve and Karen's van. I think that is Deidre and Victor peeking over the seat.

A great picture of Isaac boy!

Victor boy!

Beautiful Deidre

The camera

Most of the rest of these were taken at Isaac's 5th birthday party in September 1999.

I hope you are enjoying the pictures. I am having fun going through them and showing them to you.

Update: I have updated this post with names of the children in the pictures thanks to my Mother and my brother Steve.

I am having trouble getting anything to post correctly late Monday night as I prepare this post for Tuesday. My Mother Dear text me these pictures Monday evening while we were in church and they seem to be small enough to post well on low cell signal.

I will post the pictures Mom sent today. Hopefully  I can get the post intended for today, posted at a later date.

These are from 48 years ago this week. I do not remember the cake or birthday party but I do remember playing guitars with my brother Steve at this age. I also remember riding the little plastic motorcycle until it would go no more. It did not have pedals, I pushed it with my feet. I believe I had another one and I rode the wheels off of that one too.

I fondly remember my first bicycle in the picture below too. The training wheels did not last long and I was soon hooked on riding a bike. I would like to know how many hours I spent riding bikes between age 3 and 15.

I will need my Mom's help identifying the other kids in the pictures but I know this is my brother Steve below and I think the girl in red is my cousin Missy Upton.

According to Mother, left to right, Missy, Steve and Kelly Stroop.

If any one recognizes yourself or another of the kids, let us know who is who.

I hope you enjoy the pictures from 48 years ago. Thank you for dropping in for a while today.

Starting with the blond girl across the table and moving clockwise, Kelly Stroop, Mom thinks the boy in blue was a neighbor (Steve said his name is Scott Woolard), first cousin Eric Coffman and me.

Starting with the little one anxiously leaning toward the cake, me, Eric Coffman and first cousin Toni Upton. Mom says right behind me is first cousin Rhonda Livingston and right behind her is first cousin Annette Livingston.

Starting again with the blond girl across the table and moving clockwise, Kelly Stroop, neighbor, first cousin Paul Smith, Eric Coffman, me and Vikki Stroop.

Starting with the boy standing across the table on the left and moving clockwise, first cousin Mike Coffman, Toni Upton, Missy, Steve Kelly Stroop, neighbor boy, Paul Smith, Eric Coffman, me and Vikki Stroop.

It looks like I must be standing in the chair in this one then Missy Upton, Annette Livingston. Kelly Stroop is on the other side of me.

Me and Vikki Stroop eating cake. Thus began my life long love/hate relationship with luscious fat grams!

Here are a couple of bonus pictures in black and white.

Hello, I'm Johnny Cash!

Also a little more information that I confirmed with Mom. The pictures were taken in the house we were living in at the time on Franklin Rd. in Waynesville, Ohio. Dad and Mom and Steve were living there when I was born and we lived there until I was about 4 1/2.

I thought that was the house in the pictures but my memories of that house are a little sketchy. I remember our bedroom, the living room, some of the furniture and the outside.
