We have been eyeing this place and their monster Reuben sandwiches for a long time. When Bro. Goodwin asked me to come for revival I instantly decided it was the right thing to do since it was close to this heavenly Reuben.

We decided to try for Odie's early Birthday celebration Tuesday evening after our day long visit to the Prevost shop. Wow! What a sandwich! What a great way to cap off a stressful day! They have about 10 more sandwiches that I would like to try but I do not know if I could ever pass up the Reuben.

Yes, it was that good. We like our sauerkraut without sugar and this Reuben was great even though the sauerkraut was slightly sweet. A person should not do that to good kraut but Reuben was awesome any way. You can order it with a combination of four different meats but the pastrami was the best hands down in my opinion.

Kelly Jo and I love horseradish on our Reuben so she took a little bottle of chopped horseradish to spice things up. It was the perfect compliment to a near perfect sandwich.

Odie is giving her approval on a great birthday meal!

Kelly Jo and Odie ordered the mid-sized Reuben and I ordered the New Your size. That is the big one. It was definitely big but it was no kind of step for a stepper like me. It was pretty pricey but it was Odie's birthday so it was absolutely worth it.

If you ever get near Houston, Texas you should try it.

Beech Creek Assembly Near Livingston, Texas

This is our first visit to Beech Creek Assembly in Livingston, Texas and we are enjoying every minute of it. We have had two services so far and both have been good. We had a really good prayer line tonight and I believe that folks were touched by the power of God. We are expecting even better things the next four services.

We are really enjoying getting acquainted with Pastor Don Goodwin and his family. We preached several revivals for his Dad, Bro. Bob Goodwin when he was Pastor in Neosho, Missouri and it was always a blessing for us to be with him. He is a super great man and great friend as well. It is a pleasure to now preach for his son.

Pastor Don Goodwin and his wife have three grown children and all three of them are active in the church here. That is a blessing in any pastor's family. Their grand babies are beautiful and a lot of fun too. They have worked their way right into our hearts along with several other of the church kids.

We have taken a few pictures these first two nights but we will try to snap a bunch more before we are through. God bless you all.

BoggsMobile Update and Travel

This Morning's Post

For most of you these pictures of valves from the air brake system in the bus may be boring but that is exactly what our life is sometimes, boring. The second half of Yesterday's Post tells all about our boring day on Tuesday.

We arrived at Prevost Houston facility about 6:30 this morning and they directed me into the bay right on time at 7:00. When they got the BoggsMobile in the air the only leaks they could hear or see were in two valves that control the air flow for the brakes on the drive axle and tag axle on passenger side. They had pointed out these were leaking some on Tuesday but they did not recommend replacement then.

They seemed to be leaking much more today.

The bus is holding air pressure much better although it is going down a little lower than normal. At least I do not seem in danger of losing pressure and being stranded along side the road.

I did not get any pictures of the RV Park we stayed in Tuesday night but it was pretty full and the spaces were terribly close together. The motorhome to our right was parked about 10 feet from the engine on the BoggsMobile. I hated to crank the engine before 6:00 AM but it had to be done. I let it run about 10 minutes and then I pulled up into the parking lot so those sleeping folks could have a break. I am so sorry folks.

We left Prevost a little after 9:00 and drove about 90 miles or so to Beech Creek Assembly near Livingston, Texas. Bro. Don Goodwin is the Pastor and we are looking forward to getting acquainted with him and his folks this week.

After we were parked and set up we ate lunch and have done as much of nothing as we could possibly do this afternoon. I needed a little time to decompress from all of the stress of the last four days. As I am typing this it is time to set up the PA and get ready for church. I feel amazingly better than I did. I am looking forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do among His people tonight!

Thank you all for praying for us the last few days. Our little problems are nothing compared to what some of our friends are going through right now but they are still our problems. I appreciate you holding us up before God. May He bless you for it.

Bro. RG Logan Jr.

Yesterday's Post 

We met Bro. RG Logan Jr in the early 2000's while we were pastoring in Wichita, Kansas. He invited us to preach revival for him in 2003. It was our third revival after going on the road and it was the first of many revivals we would preach for him.

Bro. and Sis. Logan have labored for God for many, many years and have been a blessing to a tremendous amount of people. It was always a treat for us to be with them. They were so much fun together.

Bro. Logan has been too sick to pastor the church for a couple of years and has been confined to bed for several months. Sis. Logan has faithfully taken care of her husband every step of the way.

Tuesday evening the struggled ended for Bro. Logan and he slipped out of this place of sorrow. I spoke to Sis. Logan last night and assured her that we would be praying for her, the family and their church. Would you pray for them too?

Although we were in Gainesville last year and were blessed to see Bro. Logan and visit with him we did not take any pictures. This is a picture from a few years ago. 

Bro. Logan was a precious, Godly man and a dear friend.

Travel Days

Monday and Tuesday were travel and work days. Hey, it can not be vacation all the time, right?

We rolled out of bed at 5:30 on Monday morning and the Green Machine was hooked up and we were pulling out of Tanner Williams Holiness Church by 6:45 or so. We cut through the woods to I-10 and stopped at the first rest area to empty our holding tanks so we did not cover very many miles our first hour.

But we made up for it over the next several hours. Without the trailer behind the BoggsMobile I can bump the speed up closer to the speed limit and cover some ground. We stopped for fuel in Louisiana and a time or two for a quick bathroom break and walk around the bus and that was it. 440 miles just faded away and we were pulling into Baytown, Texas area by around 2:30.

I had contacted an authorized Aqua-Hot mobile repair man, Rudy, in the Houston area and made an appointment to have the engine coolant leak repaired. I told HERE about the coolant leak and I needed to get it fixed as soon as possible. I was also way past due on regular service for the Aqua-Hot and needed some help on other issues.

It turns out our system is burning really clean so it did not need to be serviced even though it was plenty past due according to the calender. That saved me a pretty good hunk of change. Rudy also gave me some very good information/diagnosis about a long standing problem I have been having with the unit as well. I should be able to take care of that once I have the time.

As far as the leak is concerned he was afraid it was a bigger job than we had daylight to finish and messier than the location allowed too. But he left me some parts to fix it and I paid him for his time and knowledge and we parted happier to have met.

Rudy had made arrangements for us to park on the property of one of his friends in order to do the work and then stay there overnight Monday. The friend's place is beautiful with a nice big concrete slab, 50 amp hook ups, water and sewer. I could get comfortable there for a week or two! Oh, did I mention it is right on a lake? Yep, we are parked just a few feet from the lake. The sunset was gorgeous. I even sneaked/snuck a few peaks at it while I was working.

Here is a picture of our new friend, Ralph and a couple of his dogs. He has some real cool dogs, some birds and even a Mountain Lion. I neglected to get a picture of his lovely wife, JoAnn. We sure appreciate all of their kindness and hospitality. We had a super visit.

We left our lakeside parking place a little after 8:00 Tuesday morning and gingerly made our way across Houston to the new Prevost facility on the northwest side. I have had an intermitant air leak near the drive axle for about 1 1/2 years. I could not get it to duplicate when I have had the bus in for other repairs in all of that time. However, I could hear the leak more often recently so I was hoping it would present its ugly head Tuesday morning and it did.

They were able to trace the leak to a leveling valve on the driver's side immediately in front of the drive axle tire.

They finished up the repair just before closing and we loaded up and headed out. In just a few miles I noticed my air pressure was not holding properly. It usually holds between 120-130 lbs on each gauge but as you can see in the picture below it was down to 110 and 100 lbs. The lower gauge even dipped down to 95. The system was holding perfect pressure even with the previous leak so this is new.

That is not good. When the air pressure drops suddenly it is time to get off the road now! If it drops too far the brakes will lock up and that would not be pretty especially in Houston rush hour traffic. Ouch!

I called Prevost but it was already past closing time so we headed for an RV Park that we had scoped out and parked for the night. I sent the service manager an email and he is expecting us at 7:00 AM Wednesday morning. I sure hope this pressure is dropping for an obvious reason and it is an easy fix. Will you pray that God will guide us?

We did go eat Tuesday night at a special place for Odie's upcoming birthday. I hope to tell you all about that later in the week.
