Richton, Mississippi Tent Revival in Pictures

I love this picture from Tuesday night.

It is hard to believe that tent revival is over already in Richton, Mississippi. In fact, tonight marks the last night of tent revival for us in the USA for 2013. We have one more tent revival with Bro. Larry Landress and Holiness In Mexico in December. It has been a great year of tent revivals.

It has been a really great week in Richton with Pastor Scott Morris, his family, his church, other local churches and the community. I believe there was at least one seeking salvation in the altar every night. God has blessed in a tremendous way and we are already looking forward to doing it again sometime.

These folks always work hard and tonight the chairs, lights, banners and all the rest were taken down and packed away in a jiffy. All that remains to do is taking down the tent and packing it away. We plan to do that tomorrow about 1:00 PM. It should be dry by then.

I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

God is Still Saving in Richton, Mississippi!

God is still saving folks under the blue and white Gospel tent in Richton, Mississippi!

The services under the tent this week have been excellent. The last two, Tuesday and Wednesday have been super excellent. We have had somebody saved each night and the last two nights several young folks have been in the altar getting saved and seeking deeper experiences in God. It has been simply amazing.

The weather was very threatening Tuesday afternoon and late evening but it settled down during church and the people filled the tent up. Honestly I expected that some would stay away because of the weather but if they did God must have sent two more to take their place. It was a super great crowd.

As I was preaching to the lost I noticed lightening in the sky to the south of us but it was never close enough for us to hear the thunder and it was perfect weather for the great altar service God gave us. I do not know how many were saved Tuesday but there were several. Wow! What a service!

One young man that was in the service text Bro. Scott Wednesday morning wanting to be saved. Bro. Scott asked the young man to meet him at the tent but he was working. Bro. Scott told him to pray right there and them meet him at the tent later. The young man was saved right on his job and was rejoicing in the things God was already doing in his life that evening. Praise God!

Wednesday I did not get to my text. I "slipped" right into preaching from one of our songs and God gave us another great altar service. I am can not tell you all that God was doing in lives but some of the things I do know are miraculous. I should not be surprised because that is what God wants to do in every life, yet I am amazed each time.

One of the great things that happened in the altar service Wednesday night involved a man that was just passing through Richton. He was on his way from a distant state to some where east and was all alone and discouraged. He had even considered taking his own life yesterday but he saw the sign for tent revival and decided to attend. Under the tent, in the altar, that man found what his heart was searching for all along. He found Jesus! Hallelujah!!!

There is no telling what God will do tonight. If you are close enough to get here, come and see for yourself. God bless you all.

Preparations For Nigeria

Things are coming together for our quick trip to Nigeria. We received our Visas from the Nigerian embassy Tuesday. With the Visas approved we were able to purchase our tickets. The tickets have been bouncing in price between $1000 and $1200 the last month or so. When I checked Tuesday afternoon they were $993 each including all taxes and fees so we booked them.

That is the lowest we have paid for tickets to Nigeria in nearly 6 years of going there. I am so thankful for the lower price. They are good flights too. We will have a short flight from Pensacola, Florida to Atlanta and then the overnight flight straight into Lagos, Nigeria. That is the flight we really like since we do not have to make a connection in Europe.

Our flight should arrive in the afternoon in Nigeria. That gives us plenty of time to collect our luggage, meet Bro. Shobanke and make the drive from Lagos to Abeokuta before it gets too late. The dedication service will be the next day, November 2nd, in the afternoon. We are excited to be a part of the special service. It is amazing what God is doing at the new church and we can hardly wait to see it for ourselves.

We plan to leave Odie in Mississippi and the bus in Pensacola, Florida. They both should be in good hands. Please continue to pray that everything will come together. We are getting pretty excited.

Thanks,

Davy
