Travel Days and BoggsMobile Work

We started early Thursday morning. Kelly Jo had Odie at the Dayton Airport before 5:00 AM. I cranked the BoggsMobile and drove over to a rest area on I-75 and KJ pulled in about 5 minutes later. Pretty good timing. We made the trip to Nashville with no problems and parked in the Prevost lot while waiting our turn in the shop.

Soon they took us in and started to work. I had sent the service manager an email and they concluded from the symptoms I described that the air compressor was going bad. After seeing it in person they confirmed that diagnosis. This is not the compressor for the air conditioning but the compressor for all of the air systems on the bus. If this went out while we were travelling we would be stranded right there! The air bags would empty and the brakes would lock up and we would be out of commission.

The coolant has to be drained and all kinds of things have to be disconnected to remove and install the compressor so Kelly Jo and I decided to celebrate Christmas. My parents had bought us a gift card for Christmas and one of the places it is good for is Carrabba's. We knew there was a Carrabba's over in Hendersonville so we decided it was time for a little Christmas cheer!

It was so good! Thanks Ma and Pa!

They finished the job about noon on Friday and we were hooked up and on our way before 1:00. The blue thing in the picture is the new compressor. It did not fix all my air problems but the old one was definitely bad and had to be changed. I hope it was on sale for $49.99. Lol

We only drove about 230 miles after we left Nashville. Kelly Jo and I both have been running from sickness for weeks but it caught us in a big way Thursday night. Please pray that The Lord will touch us.

We have about 180 miles to drive today and then about 2 hours to drive to pick up Odie at the airport. It will be good to get Odie back on the BoggsMobile.

We start revival in Waynesboro, Mississippi on Sunday morning. God bless you all.

Every Little Member is Important

Here is what was left of the air conditioner cover that we lost on our way to Ohio last week.

This is what it is supposed to look like.

Dad climbed up through the escape hatch and took the tarp off, removed what was left of the old one and installed the new one. Thankfully we had a warmish day with no wind so it only took a few minutes. I appreciate Bro. Joe Dikeman for ordering the cover and going way beyond the call of duty to get it to me in time. Thanks, Bro. Joe.

The AC covers are held on by four screws. After the old one flew apart, I could see from the ground that one of the back screws was missing. I assumed that the back two screws had came loose and then the cover had flapped about in the wind until it came apart.

Dad found that three of the screws were still intact. That means only one screw had came loose and three had held. Only one screw came loose and the wind beat the cover to pieces. Kind of shows you how important one little thing can be. You can read all about it in I Corinthians 12. You may feel like you are not important in the body of Christ but the body needs every one of you.

There is one more amazing thing about it. The screw that came loose was still on top of the bus. It was wedged under some wires. We drove well over 400 miles and the cross winds were 25-30 MPH and that little screw was still up there. Isn't that wild?

We made it to Nashville Thursday and the BoggsMobile is in the shop. I will write about it all later.

Time to Move On

The nine days at home have flown by so fast. We have enjoyed our time with family and our short revival at Corwin so much but it is time to move on down the road. If all goes as planned Kelly Jo will take Odie to the Dayton airport very early this morning. I will crank the bus and meet her south of Dayton, hook up the Green Machine to the BoggsMobile and skedaddle toward Nashville. We have an appointment for the BoggsMobile at Prevost at 2:00.

Odie is flying out to Joplin to be in Bethany Crafton and Brad Bohan's wedding. She will fly to meet us in Mississippi Saturday evening. All of this is subject to weather and God's grace. IF it all works, then we plan to start revival in Waynesboro, Mississippi on Sunday morning. If it does not work then we plan to be serving God where ever we find ourselves.

We want to say thanks to our families for all the meals and smiles over the last week. It sure has been nice having a little extra time with you. Thanks as well to Pastor Acy Lamb and the whole Corwin Pentecostal Church for your fine hospitality. I promise I will try to stay longer next time.

I will let the pictures from this week tell the rest of the story. God bless you all and thanks for reading.

Monday Lunch

Tuesday Kelly Jo and I made an early morning trip to the dentist in order to find out that there was Nothing wrong with a tooth that has been bothering me really bad since Saturday. I gave them $98 for their helpfulness and then we went back to the tire store so they could put the correct hub rings on my the new Green Machine wheels. Then we swung by the bus to pick up Odie for her first trip to Acapulco this year.

We met Bro. Wendal and Sis. Crystal Lamb from the Corwin church and my parents for a "lite" lunch. We had a good time visiting with everybody. I hope they all enjoyed the lunch as good as we did.

Several folks have asked me what makes the Burrito California so special. Well, I will give you the description and let you decide for yourself if it is something you would like. It is filled with steak, chicken, onions and beans. It is topped with crumbled chorizo, chunks of pineapple and grilled shrimp and smothered in white cheese sauce. I get the shrimp and pineapple on the side but bring on the white cheese sauce!

I think I will take that description to some of my other favorite Mexican places in other states and see if they will make it for me. They could add mushrooms, cilanto, guacamole and cheese inside and call it the Burrito Davy or the Burrito Boggriguez. Man, that is making me hungry!

Biscuits and Gravy and Ma and Pa's! Delicious!
