Special Friend Tammy Ferguson

Tammy Ferguson lives in Riverdale, California. We met in passing on one of our first visits to Riverdale. In May 2009 Tammy let me know that she was keeping up with us via the website.

She had read some of my recent posts and understood I needed prayer. Also she was praying daily for friends of mine that needed it too. I cannot tell you what it meant to me to know she was praying for me even though she barely knew me.

Since then Tammy has become my encourager. She always calls, text or emails right when I need it. I have come to lean on her a lot. I thank God for placing this lovely lady in my life!!!

Here is just one instance where she encouraged me. In August I had several painful days. My legs hurt horribly and I didn't really know why. I have good days and bad ones so I've just learned to deal with it.

One night while talking to Tammy she asked how I was feeling. She asked me to be honest with her. So I told her how I was feeling. Then Tammy said I knew it. God woke her up to pray for me the night before. When she told me the time I realized at that very moment I had been praying hard for relief so I could sleep.

That just reminded me that God really cares for us. He knows when we need reinforcements.

Tammy is a niece to Bro. Don Rich. She is involved in his mission works. Also Tammy teaches a Sunday School class a Riverdale Assembly. I know she has had a great impact on many lives.

So I'm not the only one that she has encouraged and helped.

Tammy I love you so very much!!! Thank you for your friendship!! I am thankful for the privilege to have you in my life!!!!

New Mission Holiness Church

Revival is off to a good start at New Mission Holiness Church near Purcell, Oklahoma. We had a wonderful service last night.

We did not take many pictures as we normally do in the first night but we will try to take several as the week progresses and post them Saturday.

I am working on the Minister's conference sermons from our last visit to Nigeria trying to get them ready for the printer. One of Bro. Shobanke's elders, a medical doctor named Dr. Hunyinbo Kehinde Isaac asked me to put the conferences in book form so they could be more widely distributed there.

I worked several days last week and will devote several days this week to the project.

I am also working on this year's Nigerian minister's conferences and my normal sermon prep so my posts here might be shorter and fewer. Odie is trying to pick up the slack and I think she has a post ready for tomorrow.

Tune in next time to see! God bless.

Travel Day - Pine Prairie, Louisiana to Ardmore, Oklahoma

We had a great travel day on Saturday. There was plenty of Sunshine, mild temperatures and very light traffic except for the normal mess of cars around Dallas. Thank God for helping us today.

It was a super day. We stopped at the Flying J in Ardmore, Oklahoma after nearly 500 miles. I can certainly drive farther, as I did last weekend, but that is enough.

Bro. Larry and Sis. Rosemary Landress are recently back from Mexico and they came and took us to a great steakhouse in Ardmore called Cattle Rustlers. We love it when our travels take us near our friends and we are able to connect.

The food was wonderful and the fellowship was even better.

Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of our friends. Trust me they are nice looking folks!

We will finish the drive to New Mission Holiness Church Sunday morning if all goes as planned. We are looking forward to seeing Pastor Steve Moore and all of our friends.

God bless you all.

Revival In Pictures - Pine Prairie, Louisiana

We have had a wonderful week with Pastor Barry Gautreaux and the great folks at Pine Prairie Christian Tabernacle. We love coming here.

It is late/early and we have a long way to travel today. I will let the pictures tell the story.

God bless you all.

A Blast From the Past!

Bro. Jorge Stevens from Arizona sent me this picture Thursday.

That is me and Bro. Jorge with our 1/2 lb Hawg Dogs.

Bro. Jorge and Sis. Mary flew in for Bond Campmeeting one year and we took them to the Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville that Saturday and Dryden Rd. Church on Sunday.

Odie thinks it was 2004. Whatever the year I know it was the last time we were at the festival.

I also know I was 110 lbs heavier than I am now. Can you tell?

I sure would love to have a couple of those Dogs!

Nigerian Minister's Conference Flyer

Bro. Shobanke sent the flyer for the Minister's Conference today. It is another reminder that our Nigeria trip is fast approaching.

We have two revivals in Oklahoma, two revivals in Texas and one revival in Arizona and then we will be on our way to Nigeria. When I consider how quickly these Sunday- Friday revivals fly by I realize I need to get cranking. We will be in Africa before you know it.

Long time readers of our Mile Markers may remember that I was excited about Nigeria in 2007 by the prospect of preaching to the lost in the outdoor Gospel Crusades. I love preaching Christ to those that need him so desperately.

The Gospel Crusades are still a big attraction for me and I am sure that we will see many come to Christ in those Crusade and revival meetings. The Tent Revivals the last two summers have intensified my hunger for souls more than ever.

But my heart was captured in 2007 by the preachers as the Holy Ghost fell the first day of the Minister's Conference. I realized at that moment that God had given me an opportunity to reach multiplied thousands of people through those few hundred preachers.

Those men of God will minister to people I will never meet in places I will never have a chance to go. If I can inspire and equip them for service then many more souls can come to Christ than I can imagine.

Each time we go to Nigeria I pray that God will fall on the preachers and change their lives and ministries forever. Some of the men that will attend are working in areas where it is probably unsafe to do so.

They are on the front lines and are constantly in the enemy's crosshairs. They need all of the encouragement we can give. Pray that the Holy Ghost will saturate us in that conference.

Thank you for always lifting us up before God in prayer.
