Revival In Pictures - Forts Lake Assembly

If you missed yesterday's post with me surfing near the Gulf of Mexico you can see that HERE.

Sis. Ruthie "Angel" Cauley is one of the best cooks in the nation so it is only fitting that the first picture in this Revival in Pictures post is a picture of her fabulous shrimp gumbo! Wow! It was so good. Sis. Cauley and all of these ladies have fed us so very good all week long. I will have a few extra pounds to sweat off when tent revival cranks up, that is for sure.

We closed revival tonight at Forts Lake and it could not have been a much better ending. God sent conviction into the service and a man was gloriously saved tonight. It was wonderful to see a wife embracing her brand new husband and daughters hugging a brand new daddy. I tell you that church nearly came apart at that moment. Watching somebody get saved makes every mile driven, every dollar spent, every song  and every sermon worth it all! Praise God for His help.

We had some visitors from other churches and we snapped a few pictures of some of them through the week. I sure appreciate them taking time to visit revival. It is always a blessing to have friends that think enough of us to come and see us. God bless you all.

Pastor Tim Cauley and all of his folks treated us like royalty. They really did spoil us and we loved every minute of it. Thank you all for taking us in and making over us like family. Thank you for receiving the preaching and responding in the altar. It was a great week.

It is very late (or maybe early Saturday by now) so I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. Have a great weekend.

Fun With Friends! - Video and Pictures

It is great to have fun with friends. A couple of weeks ago we were blessed to spend the day in Mobile, Alabama with Bro. Scott and Sis. Kim Morris. We ate and laughed and ate and laughed some more. It may not be legal to have as much fun as we had that day but it sure was a blessing. It felt good to laugh so hard.

We were putting Odie's new wheel chair in the car that night and removed the chair part. We realized that it looked like a scooter and decided to ride it standing up. It was absolutely hilarious. Bro. Scott's laugh is about twice as funny as the visual. I hope you enjoy!

I have posted a few pictures of Bro. Scott below as well. It must have been funny hat day at Dirt Cheap! At least it was funny from our point of view. Store security was watching us pretty close. It think he was jealous that we were having so much fun.

Revival at Forts Lake is going great. We had one saved tonight. (Thursday) Praise God for that. We will try to postsome pictures from revival tomorrow night or Saturday morning.

Lighthouse Holiness Tabernacle - Shreveport, Louisiana

Several years ago Bro. Stacy Holden began pioneering a church in Shreveport, Louisiana. To their knowledge there is not another conservative Pentecostal church in the Shreveport area. They have rented buildings and are now in the process of trying to build a church of their own. They have experienced miracle after miracle to bring them to the point they are now. Their land is paid for and their building is very near completion on the outside.

They have not been able to do anything at all on the inside of the building. Bro. Terry Coker from the Fairland Holiness Church near Fouke, AR (This is Bro. Stacy Holden's home church) is trying to raise $100,000 to go toward completion of the inside of the church. He is holding a 20 mile bike-a-thon on April 13th in an effort to raise these funds. He is contacting churches in their area and many have already pledged to participate. As of yesterday (March 19) $25,000 has been committed to the bike-a-thon.

This has only been in the works 4-5 days so $25,000 is a huge start. With that kind of momentum I can definitely see Bro. Coker meeting or even exceeding his goal. I appreciate Bro. Coker's vision and zeal to help this young church complete their building without being saddled with a big debt. Kelly Jo, Odie and I have always had a heart for new churches and we plan to do our part to help them meet or beat this goal.

Whether you could sponsor a rider for $1 a mile, $5 a mile or $1000 a mile, I know that every donation will be a help. You can send donations for the bike-a-thon to the Fairland church address below. I have been assured that 100% of the money will go toward buying the materials necessary to complete the inside of the church building. It is amazing what each one doing a little can do. I will be sure to pass on the final total in the weeks to come.
