Landmark Holiness Church - Revival in Pictures

We have had a tremendous revival this week in Lawton, Oklahoma. Every service has been great. Pastor Brandon Murray and his folks are working hard to affect this area for Christ and it shows.

Friday night was youth rally and we had a wonderful crowd and service. It was good to see friends that we had not seen in a while.

We have had great fellowship with the Pastor, his family, the church and the visitors. It is a little sad to leave but it is time to move on and do it again.

I will let the pictures tell the story.

A Prayer For the Northeast

These pictures give us a small measurement of just how serious the monster storm in the Northeast was and is.

Hundreds of thousands are still without power and the electric company said yesterday that the majority of them may not receive power until November 11.

Much of the public transportation is closed and lines for gasoline are a mile long in some places. Most stations either have no electricity or have no gasoline at all.

Traffic is bumper to bumper in all the major cities and tempers are flaring every where.

Some cities are still flooded and tens of thousands of homes and businesses have suffered water damage.

The clean up will take months and the reconstruction might take years.

One neighborhood lost 110 homes to fire after the storm because the firetrucks could not get there.

One 88 year old resident described it all in two words, "Jesus, horrible."

One story said yesterday that at least 88 died in the US and many are still missing. Among the missing are two boys age 2 and 4 that were swept away from their mother.

The damage goes on and on. The heartbreaking stories are endless. People are going to be hurting for a long, long time.

It is sunny and beautiful where I am today in Lawton, Oklahoma.

My bills are paid and my home is still sitting upright on all eight wheels.

I have electricity for heat at night and air conditioning during the day.

I have access to clean water. I have enough and to spare.

Gasoline is down near $3 a gallon and I can purchase all I need. Diesel is still expensive but there is plenty available.

I have more than enough to eat and still more available at restaurants and stores close by.

My family is healthy and we are able to go to revival every night. I can hug my girls each night and know exactly where they are.

I should be so thankful! I should praise God for his help and protection.

The fact that all seems well in my life should drive me to my knees to pray for those whose lives have been turned upside down.

I should be moved to compassion for families that will not see "normal" for months or years if ever.

I should be moved to pray like never before. In fact I really am moved to pray. I hope we all are praying.

Father, thank you first of all that you hear me when I pray.
Thank you for the sunshine in my life.
Thank you for my family and all we have been given.
Thank you for salvation and the joy and contentment that goes with it.
Thank you that you have spared me so that I might pray for others.
God, help the people in the Northeast of our nation.
I have read of destruction and disaster in New Jersey, New York and beyond.
Help O God!
Comfort, heal, encourage, provide, protect, save and deliver.
In the midst of the heartache, make your presence known to millions of people.
In the hardest trial that many of them will ever face, reveal your grace to them.
Hear them when they call out to you.
Help them when they pray.
And for those that do not know how to pray or do not believe enough to pray, I pray for them.
I cry out for mercy.
I cry out for grace.
I believe that you will help the helpless.
I believe that you will give hope to the hopeless.
I believe that you will guide their steps.
I believe you will provide for their needs.
I believe that you will bring peace to their minds.
I believe that you will bind up the broken hearted.
I believe that you will set at liberty them that are bruised.
I believe it all and ask it all in Jesus name, Amen

Special Friend Javonia Searcy

Javonia is the daughter of Bro. Rickey and Sis. Sharon Searcy and she is a friend to everyone she meets. We have been friends for a very long time. I could tell many funny Javonia moments.

Javonia has a gift to make me smile and her laughter is contagious. Because of our travel schedule I only get to be with her a few times a year but I cherish the times we've had together listening to music, looking at pictures, or working word search puzzles.

Once Javonia gets something on her mind there is no changing it. Most of the time we have a lot of fun with it.

Every year she decides what she wants to buy me for my birthday or Christmas and that's what it has be. She will not be talked out of it. For my birthday this year she was set on getting me lotion. So I got bath gel and lotion from Bath & Body Works.

Several years ago the initial purses were big. The letter O was hard to find. Well Javonia set out to find me one. Right before Christmas I got a package in the mail. Yes it was an O purse. Funny thing is Javonia don't like shopping. I think she had the whole church looking everywhere they went for my purse.

I am blessed to count her as a dear friend. I love her so very much. Javonia has taught me to laugh at myself and enjoy life.

Many times as I try to get up off a bed or couch. I have to try more than once to accomplish the task. And most of the time we both end up laughing over my failed attempts to get up.

I will close with the chorus that has become our song. We've sang this to each other since 1999. I don't know why this has stuck with us. We have had a lot of fun with this song.

It is from Jeff and Sheri Easter's project Work In Progress. The song is "Been There Done That"

Been there done that
And I ain't ever going back
I've walked through salvation's door
And there's nothing worth returning for
I'll never live that life again
No I'm never going back
No way been there done that

Hunter Safety by Hank the Church Dog

Hank the West Plains Church Dog loves all you deer hunters out there. He is very concerned about your safety while in pursuit of that record buck or meat for your family's table.

Hank wanted me to encourage every one to observe safe hunting practices at all times. You can never be too careful.

Remember it is not just you in the woods. There might be some crazies out there. Take every extra precaution. Even when wearing orange some idiot is liable to mistake you for a deer.

Please be very careful! Do not let this happen to you!

No animals were harmed in the making of this picture although Hank was probably a little irritated.

Hank is dedicated to going the distance to get the word out about hunter safety. You are a hero, Hank

Lawton, Oklahoma Landmark Holiness Church

We pulled into the church near Lawton about 1:00 Monday afternoon. It was only about 2 hours down here from New Mission. We had a very smooth drive and we are always thankful for that.

We began revival Monday night with an amazing service. God was blessing and helping from the very beginning. Praise God for His goodness to His people.

It was so good to see God meeting men and women in the altars. If the first service is any indication of the revival we are going to have a time.

Pastor Brandon Murray and his family are doing a great job building a church here in Lawton. We are so thankful they have invited us to preach revival. It is an honor.

Pray that God will save a bunch of folks this week.

Davy

Here are a few pictures from Monday night.

Sunday October 28, 2012

Sunday morning we were scheduled to preach for Pastor Rickey Searcy and the Mt. Vernon Holiness Church in Oklahoma City. We had a wonderful time with all of our friends.

We have probably been to Mt. Vernon more through the years than any other church in Oklahoma but we have not been there much lately. It was so good to be there.

We slipped in a quick visit to Chelino's for some great Mexican food. Oh my was that super good!

Sunday night we went to Blanchard church and heard Bro. Don Tabor preach. We had not been to Blanchard in several years although we see their pastor and people pretty regular at campmeetings and revivals.

Pastor Lendell Birdsong and his wife Sis. Cindy have always need so kind to us. it was good to be in service with all their folks and also fellowship afterwards. It was a great evening.

Oh and Bro. Tabor preached great and a young man was saved! Praise God.

We start revival tonight in Lawton, Oklahoma tonight so we will be moving the BoggsMobile down there this morning by God's grace.

We are looking forward to being with Pastor Brandon Murray and his church again.

God bless,

Davy
