Wrap Up in Waynesville/Dodds Homecoming

Tent Revival came to a close on Friday night and with it came the close of our Summer of Tent Revivals. We have enjoyed the summer so much. I plan to put my thoughts about it all and our plans and dreams for next year in a post soon. Perhaps I can get it all down a week or so from now after Dryden Rd. Campmeeting.

Speaking of campmeeting at Dryden Rd, it begins this Tuesday (23rd-26th) and we are very excited about it. Bro. Kevin Webster is preaching the night services and Bro. Dwain Galiher is preaching the morning services. The morning services start at 10:00 am on Wednesday. Night services begin at 7 on Tuesday. Hope to see you all there!

Friday night there was a heavy dew so the tent was too wet to take down after church. Everybody pitched in and packed up the PA system, chairs, platforms, lights, cords and carpet that night but we had to wait until Saturday afternoon to take the tent down. Once we started at 2 pm it only took about 30 minutes and it was all packed away. We sure appreciate the help.

In fact, we appreciate all the help this week. The Millikins helped with the music, singing and preaching and did an outstanding job all week. The folks here really loved them and I am so glad to see the people embrace the Millikins so warmly. We enjoyed working with Bro. Jimmy and Sis. Shauna four wonderful weeks this summer. I am sure I will have more to say about that later as well.

The churches supported the meeting very well and we are thankful for that. We had Pastors there every night and every one chipped in with prayer, worship, attendance and finance to make the Tent Revival a success. My family; Mom and Dad, brothers, sisters, inlaws, outlaws and cousins were all instrumental in pushing the revival over the top. I could not have done it without them at all. Thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart!

So many from our community were a blessing to us as well. We received a lot of encouragement from people in town before, during and after the tent revival. Some of them did not even attend but they were glad and thankful for us to be there and they let us know it. The men who own the property where the revival was held especially the owner/manager of the property Steve Foley were a great blessing to us too. I could go on and on about many acts of kindness to make the vision of mine a reality but I must stop some where. Thank you to every one. May God bless you!

The Millikins had to pull out Saturday morning. They were preaching Homecoming service for Bro. John Eaton in Evansville, Indiana this morning and revival this week. I hated so much to see them go and the folks around here hated it as well. I am already looking forward to seeing them and working with them again.

It was also Homecoming here at Dodds Pentecostal Church today. Pastor Rex Lloyd had invited us to be here to preach the Homecoming and it was an honor to do so. We have been blessed and honored to sing and preach at Homecoming services across the country but it was really special to preach Homecoming in the church where I was raised. We have always been warmly received at Dodds through the years and today was no exception. We had a great crowd, good response to the preaching and a wonderful meal afterward. It was a great day.

With campmeeting the blogging will be pretty sparse. We will try to post some pictures from each day. Many of you enjoy getting to see pictures of folks that attend so we will do our best to post them here. God bless you all...

Pizza and Homemade Ice Cream And Hershey's Chocolate!

Nothing says summer like Homemade Ice Cream! Throw in some pizzza, great friends, family and good weather and you have an awesome summer evening. Of course I think if you top it all off with a move of God in tent revival it is about as close to perfect as you can get! Well, that pretty much describes last night. (Thursday)

We were blessed with a wonderful service in tent revival and a good response from the crowd. Then most of our family headed over to Dad's barn for pizza and Sis. Shauna Millikin's Strawberry Banana Pecan Homemade Ice Cream with some Hershey's Chocolate thrown in for good measure. Wow! What a night!

One more night of tent revival and then the tent comes down for the last time this summer. If its not wet tonight we plan to bring it down and pack it up after service. It has been a great summer but I am sure I will have more to say on that later.

Thanks for your prayers,
Davy

Update on Tent Revival in Ohio

It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of Tent Revival in Waynesville. We started last Friday and the time has flown by. We have had good crowds and good services. The folks from the area churches and the community have been so kind and generous in their attendance and support of the revival. We are receiving good reports each day of people listening in the distance and enjoying the singing and preaching. Several have let us know they appreciate our efforts to reach out with the Gospel. We are expecting great things these remaining two nights as well.

The Millikins have been a great blessing this week. It is so good to work with them again. We enjoy parking with them and getting to fellowship with them as well. They are a talented ministry team with a great heart for God and to see people touched by God. This is our fourth week to work with them this summer and we love and appreciate them more than ever. It is going to be sad to see them pull away and head to their next revival in Indiana on Saturday. Bro. Millikin preached so good Wednesday night and God met us in the altar.

We have been eating and fellowshipping with the Millikins and our families almost every day and every night. That has been fun as well. We have stopped by to visit Mr. Big Boy at Frisch's more than once and he always has a smile for us. Last night I snapped a picture of little Carli and my nephew Jonas with Big Boy. That is the first picture below. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for the prayers and encouragement.

We are parked at Dodds Church with the Millikins. We appreciate Pastor Rex Loyd and the Dodds Church for allowing us to park there. It is a great blessing. We will be preaching the Homecoming at Dodds on Sunday the 21st at noon. If you are in the area we would love to have you there.

Saturday and Sunday Tent Revival Pictures

We had great services under the tent on Saturday and Sunday nights and great fellowship as well. Below are a few pictures. We are so thankful to the people that have been attending and for the Spirit of God that has met with us each night. Please continue to pray that God will help us in these meetings and that folks will respond to the call of God.

First Night of Tent Revival in Waynesville, Ohio

It felt good to be under the tent singing, preaching and praying in our home town last night. I have been involved in outdoor outreach services all over the country and last night while I was preaching I was wondering what took me so long to get here! The weather was near perfect, the crowd was good and the Spirit of the Lord was near. I can't say for anybody else but I really enjoyed the first service.

We had several folks listening in their cars during the service last night. Some even stepped out of their vehicles during the preaching. With the tent being right in town there is no telling how many people heard the Gospel last night and will hear it all next week. If you can't tell, I am very thrilled with the potential of what God can do in this revival. With all the uncertainty in the world, we need to proclaim the message loud and clear that Jesus Christ the Son of God, God in the flesh is the Rock we can depend on! Please pray that many will surrender to the call of the Holy Ghost and give their lives to Christ.

The Millikins made it in yesterday afternoon after a long hard trip from Oklahoma. They are planning to be with us for the whole revival and we are excited about that. They sang and testified last night and blessed the service. I am thankful that Bro. Jimmy and Sis. Shauna are here to take part in this revival. They added so much to the Tent Revivals in Oklahoma and Kansas in June and I can see that God is going to use them in Waynesville as well. We will not be having service on Sunday morning under the tent so our Pastor, Bro. Bennie Sutherland invited Bro. Millikin to preach at Dryden Rd. Sunday morning. If you are in the area and can go to Dryden Rd. I am sure you will be blessed by their ministry.

We will be having church each night including Sunday at 7:30 by His grace. We are looking for great things from God as we seek his face for revival in our home town of Waynesville, Ohio.

We did not take many pictures last night but here are a few. We hope to put more up as the week progresses.
