MPG For 2006 Scion Xb - The Green Machine

Let's talk about gas mileage for one brief moment...

The last time we filled up the Green Machine was on July 1 in Joplin, Missouri. We filled up again during our trip to Glacier National Park on Thursday July 12 just east of Missoula. We put NO gas in the car in between July 1 in Missouri and July 12 in Montana.

For those of you that are geologically challenged, Missouri and Montana are no where near each other even though they both begin with the letter M.

We put 6.6 gallons of gasoline on Thursday, July 12.

From July 1 to July 12 the Green Machine travelled 1812 miles.

6.6 gallons and 1812 miles figures out to be 274 miles per gallon! Isn't that awesome? That must be some kind of record, right?

Now, Please do not ask about the MPG for the BoggsMobile pulling the heavy trailer out here over the mountains. Believe me THAT is depressing.

I can assure you that even if the Green Machine was getting 274 miles per gallon the bus would More than make up for it in the OTHER direction!

The Tent Goes Up Near Florence, Montana

The Blue and White Gospel tent is up near Florence, Montana. The folks from Sun Valley church showed up about 8 Friday morning and by 9:20 the tent was up, the lights were hung and the chairs were in place. These folks really work good together. Bro. Jimmy Radcliffe and his son Zack are here from Tulsa, Oklahoma. They are always a good addition to any work crew. They had a difficult time getting here but I am so glad they made it. They jumped in and worked hard on the tent setup and several other things the church was doing to prepare. The church has set up a second tent to feed meals under during the day next week. I think we are going to have a grand time. God bless, Davy
