#40 Weekend Woundup and Weview

This weekend was all about City Reach Fayetteville. We are having a great time. We are working with small churches this week so the crowds are not giant but we are reaching people. There are several folks that are coming under the tent that attend their regular outreach services on the street. Three of them prayed last night that had never went forward before. We are very thankful for that.

Friday night kicked off the final City Reach campaign of the year. We are super glad to be in Fayetteville with these pastors and churches. We had great services right from the first night as well as Saturday night, Sunday morning and Sunday night. We are expecting it to get better and better.

We do not often have service under the tent on Sunday mornings but it worked this time to do it. The Sunday morning services are always good under the tent and it was yesterday as well. We also had service Sunday evening at 5:00 and that wrapped up the weekend. We are looking forward to the rest of the week.

We are spending a lot of time taking shifts watching the tent as we always do in the city. We have had some help a couple of nights from church folks and that is a huge help. We all sleep in 2-4 hour snatches and it seems like that makes the week fly by in some respects. It will all be over soon and we will be wishing for more time.

Odie snapped lots of pictures from the weekend so they should prove that it all really happened. I hope you had a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the pictures from ours.

Thanks for reading.

View Out The Front Window October 16, 2016

Check out our posts from the last week at the links below.

Odie's post yesterday was pretty interesting to me. She went back through the years and tried to remember where she had spent every one of her birthdays. She ended up with a pretty neat list of cites, states and places where we were preaching when her 31 birthdays rolled around.

Our little girl has turned out pretty good in spite of the dire predictions of the guys I worked with at GM when she was very young. One of them declared she would be warped by not having a TV in the home and he was also pretty sure she would be damaged emotionally by being dragged from "pillar to post" all the time.

We went to church several nights a week even then and he thought we were crazy. Wow! If he could see all the places we have dragged her since then! So far she has been to 48 states and 3 continents.

The verdict may still be out and we may be crazy but we raised a fine young lady by the grace of God!

Our View Saturday Night

Before I get to our view out the front window this past week, I want to share a special view from Saturday night. I was standing outside the tent about ten minutes before service and low and behold I got a view of something beautiful but very surprising.

Walking toward me was Bro. Bruce and Sis. Priscilla Mayhan. They came all the way from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to be with us in City Reach Fayetteville. Can you believe that? I am still in shock. I will have more to say about my dear friends later but here are their smiling faces.

This was our view out the door Sunday night when we were parked at Midway Assembly near St. Stephens, Alabama.

We left Oak Ridge Tuesday evening and this is our view out the front door in a rest area some where along the way. We stopped and had a pretty good night's rest Tuesday night.

This is our view out the front window at a WalMart some where in North Carolina. I think it was Siler City.

This has been our view from the door this week so far in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

We are parked across the street from the tent site in the back drive of a business. They need this drive Monday for deliveries so we plan to move across the street Monday morning.

I hope you have a great Sunday.
