View Out The Front Window November 9, 2014

We are closing four services of revival this morning at Victory Holiness in Hanford and we plan to begin five nights of revival this evening at Souls Harbor in Fresno. Those plans are pretty much the way we had it figured but our parking plans have changed.

We had planned to park at the fairgrounds in Hanford and at an RV park in Fresno. We decided not to move last Thursday since I had to preach that morning at Riverdale Christian Academy and I was not feeling all that well. Driving 30 minutes to Hanford was not all that bad and going to Fresno is not much farther so we are going to stay parked right here at Riverdale.

Pastor Spencer had extended the offer for us to remain parked here so I called him make sure it was OK and he said it was super fine. I am usually very fussy about moving on after revival and not over staying my welcome. But Bro. Spencer and his folks made it abundantly clear that they wanted us to stay and I feel pretty comfortable with it especially since I am not parked right in the way taking up a big portion of their parking lot.

Since we did not move, our view is the same as last Saturday minus the rain.

I hope you have a super great Sunday.

God Bless Our Veterans

Hello friends happy Saturday to all of you.  We have had a great week! Odie here and I am happy to report I am still alive. The sickness junk we have had was no fun. We are all doing much better.

It was wonderful to once again be with Pastor Charles Spencer and all our friends at Riverdale Assembly of God!!  The time passed to quickly.  Wednesday night God came by in the service and gave me a  very special blessing.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's school revival at Riverdale Christian Academy was outstanding. I love seeing young lives touched by the Lord!  This school has had major impact on many lives through the years.

Currently we are in revival at Victory Holiness Church in Hanford, California. Most of these folks have been our friends since our first trip to California in fall of 1992. It is good to be with them again.

This coming week our nation celebrates Veterans Day. I am thankful for every past and current member of our Armed Forces. I know they have sacrificed so that I can enjoy the freedom of being a US Citizen. If you are a Veteran, thank you for serving our Country!

A couple weeks ago when I sent in my absentee ballot for the election I was overwhelmed with gratitude that I could place my vote. Men and women have sacrificed much for my right to vote. It is easy to take that for granted and not properly appreciate it.

I love seeing clips of military families reunited with their Veteran. I cried when I first saw this clip a couple years ago. When preparing for this post I knew I wanted to find it. I cried like a baby all over again. Military families go through so much in support of their loved ones. If you are in a military family thanks for your sacrifices!

Many America service members have made the ultimate sacrifice. Their families were forced to sacrifice as well. They did not get to enjoy a happy reunion. I am always saddened when I hear a soldier has given their life in the line of duty. May God help the families that are left behind.

Regan Morris sent this picture to me from the airport on her way to California to see us. Regan graciously allowed me to use it today. What a sobering moment.

God bless you this weekend!

Transition Day

Thursday was a transitional day but not a travel day. We closed school revival Thursday morning and started revival at Victory Holiness Church in Hanford Thursday night. We had planned to move the bus to the RV park at the fairgrounds in Hanford about one mile from the church. But I woke up feeling about as rough as I did last week so I took Pastor Spencer up on his offer to leave the bus at Riverdale and drive back and forth. It is only about a 30 minute drive.

Revival At Riverdale

I posted pictures from revival at Riverdale Assembly yesterday. We had a wonderful revival in the four short days we were there. We really had a breakthrough Wednesday night and it was a great blessing to watch the people of God enjoy His presence. In fact, our family was busy enjoying the presence of the Lord for ourselves. It was really wonderful.

I appreciate Pastor Spencer and all of the leadership team at Riverdale. They have always embraced us with such kind hospitality each time we have been here over the last 10 years. We always look forward to coming back again. We will get to see a lot of the folks when we go to Avenal in about 10 days and that will be great.

Last Day of School Revival

I love preaching school revival. I wish I could figure out a way to do it all the time. I love seeing the young folks respond to the Word of God and surrender their lives to Him. Preaching revival at Riverdale Christian Academy is especially fun. This year I preached a new series of messages and I was not really sure how it would go. But God helped and the young folks allowed God to work and move in their hearts each day.

We hated to close out yesterday but it was time to move on. Thanks to Bro. Doug Spencer, Bro. Chuck Spencer and all the student body. We had a wonderful few days with you.

Victory Holiness Church in Hanford, California

We left about 5:15 for Hanford. It is only about 30 minutes from Riverdale to the church but we needed to be there early to set up our sound system. We had heard they had remodeled the sanctuary but it was much nicer than what we had heard. The pictures below can not capture all the changes so you will have to take our word for it. It is really nice.

It is so nice to be with our long time friends at Hanford. Victory Holiness was the second church we preached for on our first trip to California in September 1992. I can not believe folks were kind enough to let me in the pulpit back then. I sure hope and pray I preach a little better now. Surely I have a little more sense now.

That means it has been 22 years since that first visit to California. Odie celebrated her 7th birthday in San Francisco that year. Now she has been in California for three birthdays. She turned 7, 25 and 29 in this beautiful state. We loved California that first trip and we have loved coming back ever since.

We only have three nights at Hanford so we jumped in last night and tried to have all the revival we can. We had a good service and God helped some in the altar. We are asking God to continue His work each and every night.

We did not get many pictures last night but here are the few we have.

Thank you so much for reading each day. I hope you have a great weekend.
