A Word For Wednesday, We Are Going To Church, Life Decisions

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

There are situations in life that require us to make quick decisions. That is not my strong suit. I have found it is best to make some decisions ahead of time.

We have made decisions in the past, based upon solid Biblical principles and personal values so that in times of crisis, the decision has already been made. All we have to do is follow through on our previously made decision.

IF I make decisions based solely on circumstances, I am likely to make the wrong decision. It is better to make the decision on principle before the circumstances ever come along!

Thank you for spending a few minutes with us today.

A Word For Wednesday, Consider Him

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Hebrews 12:1
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. {author: or, beginner} 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

When our way is weary, when the path is perilous and when it seems we can run no more, consider Him! Consider the road that Christ walked. He endured the cross. He despised the shame. And He did that for the Joy that was set before Him!

When we are weary and tempted to faint, we should consider Christ. Think about the Son of God that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself.

Thank you for joining us today.

A Word For Wednesday When Your Box Falls Apart

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Do you ever feel like things in your life are falling apart and there is nothing you can do about it?

Does life seem unnecessarily difficult on some days?
Does your situation seem to suggest that God might be unfair?

What in the world is going on here?

Why are we going through all the trauma and drama?

What should we do when our box falls apart?

In today's episode, I go through the process that I follow when my box falls apart. I hope you enjoy this week's A Word For Wednesday. Thank you for stopping by.

A Word For Wednesday, Everything Changes Except God

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with the stuff of life. I am not up to the challenge. I am not as strong as I used to be. I am not as young as I used to be. No, I can not do what I used to do because time has changed me.

But time has not changed God! Hallelujah! God is still the same! He has the same power. He has the same strength. He has the same knowledge!

Everything changes except God!

Thank you for stopping by.

A Word For Wednesday, Greater Works Than These

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I am reading today from "John's Wonderful Gospel" by Ivor Powell. And I am focusing specifically on
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Jesus says the man that believes on Him will do greater works than He, Jesus, has done. Wow! What an amazing statement! It must be true, because Christ spoke it!

Thank you for checking in.

A Word For Wednesday, Let's Go To Camp Meeting!

This is the first of two Mile Markers today. HERE is a link to the second post which contains a bunch of great pictures from Tuesday of Dryden's Fellowship Meeting.

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

This week is the annual Indoor Fellowship Meeting at our home church, Dryden Rd. Pentecostal Church in Dayton, Ohio. On Today's A Word For Wednesday, I reminisce about camp meetings in the past and how they have affected me and my family for good.

Have you ever taken your family and attended a week of a camp meeting? I am not very smart, but taking my family to camp meetings has been a brilliant move on my part, for sure! We have been abundantly blessed!

Thank you for joining us today!

A Word For Wednesday, Run With Patience

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Notice the phrase in the verse below, "run with patience"
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

If I run, I run in haste, not with patience. But the Christian life is not a sprint, it is a long-distance race.

God did not call us to win first place. But he also did not call us to quit. He called us to finish the race. Run with patience!

In this Word For Wednesday, I also read an illustration from God's Gold Mines by C. Roy Angell.

Thank you all for joining us today.

-I acknowledge Him as my savior, my Lord now.

-I bow on my knees and cry holy.

-I fear Him because of his power.
-I love Him because of his wisdom.

-I trust Him because of his goodness.
-I praise Him because of his greatness.

-I believe in Him because his faithfulness.
-I adore Him because of his holiness.

-The Lord is the light and my salvation.
-The Lord is my strength.

-The Lord is my rock.
-The Lord is my deliverer.
-The Lord is my high tower.
-The Lord is my shield and buckler.

-Yes, the Lord is plain and profound.
-The Lord is simple and sublime.
-The Lord is suitable and serviceable.

-Yes, He is Lord.
-The Lord is the fountain of every excellence.
-He is a mirror of perfection.
-He is the light of heaven.
-He’s the wonder of the world.

 -Yes, He is Lord.
-He is time’s masterpiece.
-And He is eternity’s glory.

 -Yes, He is Lord.
-He is a morning without a cloud.
-He is a day without a night.
-He is a rose without a thorn.
-He is a mountain without a valley.
-He is a light without darkness.
-He is health without sickness.
-He is strength without weakness.
-He is truth without error.
-He is life without death.

 -Yes, He is lord.

-And I love Him.
-He is my Lord.
-Yes, He is and I can brag on Him, yes I can.
-Because I have been washed in the blood of the lamb.

-The Lord is my shepherd
-Beside me are the still waters.
-Beneath me are the green pastures
-Before me is the table prepared.
-Between me and home lies the valley and the shadow of death.
-I will fear no evil
-His rod and His staff will lead me through the dark valley.
-And behind me are goodness and mercy.
-Yes, and beyond looms the house of the Lord forever.

-Yes, I am glad that I know the Lord.
-He is not only The Lord, but He is my Lord.
-Is He your Lord?
-Well, if He is not, He can be right now!

-There is a land that’s fairer than day.
-Yes it is!
-And by faith we can see it far.
-And the father waits over the way
-To prepare us a dwelling place there.
-In the sweet bye-bye
-We shall meet on that beautiful shore.

-Where is it, you say?
-I don’t know where it is, but it’s out there somewhere
-Yes, I’ve got a home beyond the hills and the horizon. -Yes, I’ve got a mansion beyond the mist and the mountains.

-I’ve got a possession, beyond the planes and the planets.
-I’ve got a society beyond the stars and the sky.
-I’ve got a paradise beyond the perils and the pain of this present time.

-When I get there
-I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
-I am talking about joy in the house of the Lord.

-Will you be there?
-Don’t you think you are going to be sitting there quiet in His house.
-There’s going to be shouting in the house of the Lord.
-If you are going to be still and quiet, you are going to get run over in the house of the Lord.

-You know this is just rehearsal down here?
-We’re getting ready.
-We’re just practicing down here.
-What we gonna do when we get to the other side?
-If you can’t act right in the rehearsal
-You’re not going to be in the performance.

-We will live in the house of the Lord forever.
-I will dwell in the house of the Lord, yes!
-Jesus Christ is Lord!
-Let Him be your Lord tonight
-Let Him be your shepherd

A Word For Wednesday, Impossible To Done!

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

My dear brothers and sisters, there is nothing too hard for God! No thing is too hard for God! That includes and surpasses anything that you need.

Hudson Taylor, the British Missionary to China said, "Every great work of God has three stages. First it is impossible, then it is difficult and then it is done."
Do you have impossibilities in your life? It is impossible for men, but not with God! Our God eats the impossible for breakfast! If you can believe God, all things are possible to him that believes.

I hope you enjoy A Word For Wednesday. Thank you for joining us today.

A Word For Wednesday - The Man Who Does Nothing

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Matthew 25:24
Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26  His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

God help us to be found doing something in the kingdom of God. Woe unto the man that does nothing!

Thank you for stopping in.

An Altitude Problem

There have been more than a few times in my life that I have had an attitude problem. My parents have adjusted my attitude, My friends and family have adjusted my attitude, My Pastor has adjusted my attitude. AND KJo has adjusted my attitude.

Thank God for people who will take a risk and pour truth into my life when I need to adjust my outlook!

I have not been suffering from attitude problems much lately, but I have been suffering from an altitude problem.

July 5th we left California and headed toward Colorado. That first night we parked in a rest area near 6000' elevation. I was huffing and puffing by the next morning as we were trying to get on the road.

Most of the second day was spent driving up and down mountains and we spent that night at 5300'. KJo and I walked by the Colorado River in the evening and I could hardly make it.

5300' was our low point for the next day and over the course of the day we were over 10000' and then 12000' and later in the day over 12000' again.

On the fourth day, we drove to Colorado Springs which sits at about 6000'. We stayed there parts of four days and the second day went to the top of Pike's Peak above 14000'.

I had not felt good all week, but it did not dawn on me until several day into the high altitude that the very high elevations might be taking a toll on my oxygen saturation.

I took an oximeter with us to Pike's Peak and nearly fainted when I saw the number. Actually, I was about to faint no matter what! I will not tell you how low my O2 level was. Some of you will think I am lying and some of you will think I am dying.

KJo had thought to take my portable oxygen machine and I am happy that she did.

I had not used it since December, but I used it while on the mountain and all the way back to the bus. I did not get my levels anywhere near normal until we got down to about 6500'.

Thursday while at 12000' I had a feeling like I had never had before. Two days later on Pike's Peak over 14000' I felt it again. I never want to feel that way again. I may move to sea level!

Evidently, my lungs or heart or something is still distressed by the long term effects of Covid. Altitude has never treated me bad like that.

Two nights ago we finally slept at 1800' and I woke up feeling great AND my oxygen level was back in the 90s. Much, much better!

I am praising God that I am better than I used to be and I am asking God to complete the work!

Thank you for stopping by.

A Word For Wednesday - Grace In An Unexpected Place

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Jeremiah 31:2 Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

In the middle of the wilderness fleeing from the sword, Israel found grace in an unexpected place!

In the midst of difficulties of all kinds, you and I can find grace in an unexpected place. You may be run smack into the wilderness while escaping the sword, but God will meet you there with grace!

A Word For Wednesday At Ease In Zion

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.
Amos 6:1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion...

I am reading today from The Rudder and The Rock by Charles Conn. He warns us about falling into complacency, peace that kills.

Lord, agitate us! Stir us up! Help us to wake and arise from false peace, peace that will kill us!

Thank you for stopping by today.

When witnessing to people about Christ, you may think that you do not know what to say. You may think you are not qualified. I say, Tell them your story! Simply tell people what Christ has done for you! Your story is exactly what they need to hear!

At the end of this episode, I tell a funny anniversary story. KJo burns my hide!

Thank you, friends, for reading and watching.

God, give us this day our daily bread! We are living in uncertain times. We can dial down some of the anxiety of the future IF we can trust God to give us our daily bread at a time!

I am reading today from C. Roy Angell's The Price Tags of Life. I sure hope it is profitable for you. Thank you for reading and for watching.

A Word For Wednesday -Transformed Rather Than Conformed and Deformed

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

According to Apostle Paul in Hebrews 12:2, we should not be conformed to the shape of this world. IF we are conformed to this world, we are deformed as a Christian. We should be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We have had several hundred friends dropping by Mile Markers every day for years. Thank you for that. We appreciate it very much. Would you consider clicking on the YouTube link and joining us there as well? It would make our day!

Thank you for stopping by. Please feel free to share this Mile Marker today.

A Word For Wednesday - Is God In The Glitches?

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Please stay with me on this today. This may seem like another bus post, but it is hopefully much more. My main goal is to tell you how God is sometimes in the glitches. Press through to the end.

I am on record on Mile Markers explaining why bus glitches, car glitches, PA glitches or any other kind of glitches that suddenly go away are a mixed blessing to me. Often the bus or anything else malfunctions and I do not know the answer and can not "fix" the problem.

All of a sudden, the issue goes away and everything is running smooth and I do not know how to respond. That leaves me lifting my hands in praise while scratching my head in befuddlement.

I am obviously thankful each time that we are no longer having a problem, but there is a nagging suspicion, based on experience, that the complication is gonna show up again when I least expect it and when I am less equipped to handle it. 😊

Twice before now, a dragging tag axle brake, the same thing that turned us around in Tennessee, has reared its ugly head only to resolve itself without us knowing exactly what caused it. The first time was December 2018 and it left us frazzled and thankful. You can read that HERE.

Two years later, nearly the same scenario played out again with the opposite tag axle. One morning it was dragging a bit, but when we stopped it was completely released and we could not get the dragging to duplicate. Again, we were thankful but perplexed and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

When we arrived back at Jeff's shop on May 17, the brakes were not releasing completely when I lifted my foot off the brake, but they did release each time I turned off the parking brake. That gave Jeff some direction and after a few repairs, as described HERE, the brakes were releasing fine.

We believe the nagging situation with the occasional glitches is now solved. Time will tell for sure, but all seems well. We feel a whole lot better about it, I know that definitely.

We intended to drive 400 miles Tuesday and 400 miles Wednesday. That would have put us well on the way to our destination. Instead, we drove a 26 mile circle and finally left Jeff Rowe's shop 18 hours after we originally departed. So by Wednesday evening, we ended up a day late and about 600 miles short of our goal. Why?

Did God do that? Did God allow that? Does He care that we have a schedule to keep, places to go and things to do for His kingdom? The answer is maybe to the first question and yes, yes, yes and yes to the next four questions.

God is certainly aware of every little thing we are dealing with. Please consider, He may have other plans. We need to be perceptive when encountering obstacles on our path.

This may not be the case every time, but sometimes glitches seem to happen so that we can discover and solve another problem OR so that we can be in the right place at the right time.

We pray daily that God puts us in the path of the right people and that He allows us to be sensitive to His work in our hearts and the hearts of people we meet along the way.

When we have difficulties we start looking for some divine opportunity along the way. He may be slowing us down and opening and door for us to minister to a person or in a place that we would have zoomed by at 65 MPH otherwise.

We definitely walked into God's will as a result of our bus glitch last week. A precious family that we had never met before, poured their broken hearts out to us within moments of speaking to them and we spent nearly two hours listening to them and offering a very few words of comfort along the way.

Mostly we listened and wept. The recent difficulties they have endured can only be described as nightmare material. It is the kind of thing you want to wake up from, but you never do. They talked and unburdened their hearts and we tried to help bear a small corner of their heavy load.

They have definitely been part of our prayers since that day and will continue to be for a long time to come. Did God orchestrate that? Maybe.

IF we had been able to drive to our desired destination Tuesday, we would have completely missed an amazing opportunity to love on people and listen to people that desperately need to experience the strength of God at this very moment.

Sometimes God may be in the glitches.

Does that make sense to you? I make sense when I say it to myself.

Are you struggling with unexpected difficulties? Stop a moment, look around and listen attentively. You may find that you are come to the kingdom of God for such a time as this.

Thank you for reading today.

A Word For Wednesday - Full Surrender

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I am reading today from Everyday With Jesus by George B. Duncan. Jesus is our Savior and is also Sovereign. He is Savior and He must also be Lord!

In our very first A Word For Wednesday, on January 6, 2021, I read a sermon from George B. Duncan. You can find that at this link.

Thank you for dropping in today. It is always good to have you.
