So Great Salvation

Monday was a pretty emotional day with Bro. Bill Houston's funeral. I intended to write about it this morning, but I suppose I am still trying to process it. The words are not ready to flow yet.

It is enough to say that God blessed during the funeral service in an amazing way. I am thrilled that we were able to attend and to be a small part. Please continue to pray for his dear wife and family.

Pastor Gary Lee read a version of something Bro. Bill wrote many years ago and has added to and adapted several times. Evidently he added some to it as recently as a couple of months ago.

I typed this version out for Bro. Bill over 15 years ago while we were living in Kansas and he and Sis. Darien were there preaching for us. This will give you a little insight into Bro. Bill's great mind.

Please read and enjoy.

So-Great Salvation

II Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Weekend Woundup and Weview 3/5/18

Friday was our last full day in Mississippi. First thing on the agenda was celebrating the 68th birthday of Pastor Kenny Morris. There were 13 of us at Strick's BBQ in Hattiesburg for lunch. We had an amazing meal and wonderful fellowship with friends.

Here is Odie Friday night before church with the birthday boy, Pastor Kenny Morris.

Speaking of church, we had one more service Friday night to conclude revival. God helped and moved in lives and most of us were rejoicing as the Lord blessed. I love revival anytime but I especially love it like that!

We appreciate Pastor Kenny Morris and Sis. Joan, Associate Pastor Andy Stringfellow and Sis. Tina. May God bless them and all the folks from Ellisville for their love and warm hospitality toward our family. We love you all.

This is Odie with a little miracle, James!

Mr. Anonymous playing the piano!

After service the whole church celebrated Bro. Kenny's birthday and also a belated birthday celebration for Sis. Joan Morris. Odie neglected to take a picture of the cake. This one of Regan goofing off will have to do.

Sis. Joan Morris ( Mama Joan)

We wanted to get on the road by 7:00 AM so I was outside at 6:00 to prepare things to roll. I am used to darkness at that hour and I was super glad to have some daylight to work in. I love longer days! I think the daylight lifted my spirit for the whole day. Boy, it does not take much to make some folks happy.

I hooked up the Green Machine, rolled up the water hose, cranked the BoggsMobile and then unhooked the electric.

Then I stopped to do the work of the evangelist before pulling out on the road at 7:00

Our next stop was a Pilot truck stop in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for a spot of diesel.

It was a beautiful day to travel. This is probably the first significant travel day all year that it was not raining. The sunshine was glorious! We stopped a few more times but our moving average all the way into Kentucky was 68 MPH. That means the roads were clear, the sun was shining, the traffic was light and the BoggsMobile was running like a scalded dog.

We stopped in a rest area in Kentucky after 498 miles and 8 hours of traveling. Kelly Jo cranked the generator, prepared a big meal and then we rested. I crawled on the couch and slept about 3 hours and we were stopped nearly 7 hours.

We finished up the last 210 miles Saturday night and we were backed into the barn, parked, hooked up to electric and I was sitting in my chair by 3:00 AM. Home Sweet Barn.

Sunday was focused on recovering from the trip and attending the Visitation for Bro. Bill Houston at Dryden Rd. We arrived at 4:00 and the line was already very long. There were hundreds of people there and many folks had traveled a great distance. The great crowd was a testimony to a great, Godly man.

Today is Bro. Bill Houston's funeral and we are liable to have campmeeting!

Thank you for tuning in today.

View Out The Front Window March 4, 2018

Is it Sunday already? Yesterday was Saturday so I reckon this is Sunday. Wow, that week flew by!

This was our view out the front window at a rest area in Kentucky where we slept a few hours yesterday.

This is our view now. We backed into the barn during the night and I had to snap a picture of the first time we could see the new siding on the house from the barn. Yay!

That is a beautiful sight!

Here are the links to our posts from the last week. Please take a moment to check them out.

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you have a great Sunday.

A Day With Deidre

Note From Davy:
Bro. Bill Houston's funeral is scheduled for Monday March 5th at 11:30 AM at Dryden Rd. Pentecostal Church in Dayton. His family with receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday night at the church.

His obituary is HERE.

In order to attend the funeral, it is necessary that we cancel our next revival scheduled Sunday through Wednesday at White Plains Assembly near Sebastopol, Mississippi. We regret we are not able to be there. We enjoy revival there so much each year. I do appreciate their gracious understanding. They are incredibly kind.

Now back to regularly scheduled programming.

A Day With Deirdre

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in from Mississippi. I hope you had a great week. Our time in Ellisville, Mississippi was fantastic.  I hate to see this week come to an end. Pastor Kenny Morris and all of our dear friends at First Assembly always welcome us with open arms.

The Lord helped us from the start of revival on Sunday. God moved in many lives. His power and love continues to amaze me. I am blessed to be a child of God. It was special to feel Him so near this week.

Last Saturday was a special treat for me. I was able to spend some time with my cousin Deidre. As Dad mentioned on MondayDeidre married Ben Shoemaker almost five months ago. This was the first time that I have seen Deidre since the wedding. Life has definitely changed in the last little while but she has settled in great. I am proud of her.

Ben had to work on Saturday but I am thankful Deidre was able to come see me. We were thrilled to have some sister time. Our objective for the day was to just enjoy being together.

Our first stop in Hattiesburg, Mississippi was Starbucks. We needed our fuel for the day and it was wonderful!

Then we ventured to Hobby Lobby. It was fun to explore Hobby Lobby again. There was a difference from our normal Hobby Lobby trips in the past. This time we avoided the wedding aisles.😀 We found lots of other things to have fun looking at and dream about.

After that adventure we had worked up an appetite. Our next stop was Chick-fil-A. The food was delicious but the fellowship was even better!

We spotted a Kirkland’s so we were off on our final adventure for the day. It was a great way to cap our time together. I am proud of our shopping Saturday. We did not spend a lot of money. I know we both definitely have ideas for future purchases.

Before long it was time to say goodbye once again. I am so thankful for our time together. I definitely needed to see my little sis! I am glad it worked out for us to catch up.

Deidre, thank you for spending your day off with me! Thank you for taking time to come down for revival in Ellisville as well. It was refreshing to see you again.

Thank you for dropping by to visit us today! Stay tuned for more adventures. We never know what will happen next. It is fun to share our life with you.

Revival In Pictures

We love being in Ellisville, Mississippi. It is a privilege to be with Pastor Kenny Morris and his sweet wife Sis. Joan. They are precious people and have welcomed us into their family with open arms. May God bless them abundantly for their kindness to us.

Our time at First Assembly has been great this week. The food has been good, the fellowship with friends has been good and the revival services have been awesome. I would classify that as a very good week! Plus we have pictures to of all of the above to share with you.

Of course pictures are the most important component of a Revival In Pictures post. Let us get to the pictures and I will provide the color commentary as we go.
