Fun With Friends! - Video and Pictures

It is great to have fun with friends. A couple of weeks ago we were blessed to spend the day in Mobile, Alabama with Bro. Scott and Sis. Kim Morris. We ate and laughed and ate and laughed some more. It may not be legal to have as much fun as we had that day but it sure was a blessing. It felt good to laugh so hard.

We were putting Odie's new wheel chair in the car that night and removed the chair part. We realized that it looked like a scooter and decided to ride it standing up. It was absolutely hilarious. Bro. Scott's laugh is about twice as funny as the visual. I hope you enjoy!

I have posted a few pictures of Bro. Scott below as well. It must have been funny hat day at Dirt Cheap! At least it was funny from our point of view. Store security was watching us pretty close. It think he was jealous that we were having so much fun.

Revival at Forts Lake is going great. We had one saved tonight. (Thursday) Praise God for that. We will try to postsome pictures from revival tomorrow night or Saturday morning.

Lighthouse Holiness Tabernacle - Shreveport, Louisiana

Several years ago Bro. Stacy Holden began pioneering a church in Shreveport, Louisiana. To their knowledge there is not another conservative Pentecostal church in the Shreveport area. They have rented buildings and are now in the process of trying to build a church of their own. They have experienced miracle after miracle to bring them to the point they are now. Their land is paid for and their building is very near completion on the outside.

They have not been able to do anything at all on the inside of the building. Bro. Terry Coker from the Fairland Holiness Church near Fouke, AR (This is Bro. Stacy Holden's home church) is trying to raise $100,000 to go toward completion of the inside of the church. He is holding a 20 mile bike-a-thon on April 13th in an effort to raise these funds. He is contacting churches in their area and many have already pledged to participate. As of yesterday (March 19) $25,000 has been committed to the bike-a-thon.

This has only been in the works 4-5 days so $25,000 is a huge start. With that kind of momentum I can definitely see Bro. Coker meeting or even exceeding his goal. I appreciate Bro. Coker's vision and zeal to help this young church complete their building without being saddled with a big debt. Kelly Jo, Odie and I have always had a heart for new churches and we plan to do our part to help them meet or beat this goal.

Whether you could sponsor a rider for $1 a mile, $5 a mile or $1000 a mile, I know that every donation will be a help. You can send donations for the bike-a-thon to the Fairland church address below. I have been assured that 100% of the money will go toward buying the materials necessary to complete the inside of the church building. It is amazing what each one doing a little can do. I will be sure to pass on the final total in the weeks to come.

Mary Ann Lindsey Goes Home

I really can not believe I am writing these words right now. Friday afternoon our dear friend took her last breath on earth. She is now home with no more sickness!! I know she is rejoicing on streets of gold today.

My heart is heavy today for the Lindsey family. For almost as long as I can remember we've been friends with this family. They are precious people!! I am thankful I had the privilege to call Sis. Mary Ann my friend. I wish we could be home with them at this time. Please keep Bro. Frank, their daughters Sis. Allison and Sis. Jen, the son in laws Bro. Jeff and Bro. Keith and the grandchildren in your prayers!!!

In August Sis. Lindsey was diagnosed with cancer. She fought a courageous battle for life. She loved being in the house of God so last Sunday they took Sis. Mary Ann to church on a gurney. She is now face to face with God CANCER FREE. No it is not the healing we hoped and prayed would happen but part of me is rejoicing because she is suffering no more.

I can just imagine Sis. Lindsey she is shouting and rejoicing with Sis. Donna Maggard, Sis Elizabeth Combs, Bro. Sylvester Carpenter and Bro. Ray Driscoll and many more. Our home church has lost many soldiers in the last few years. I just named a few of them in that list. We miss them all very much!! Thankfully we have a promise of a grand reunion soon.

Travel Day and a Busy Sunday

Whew! What a long travel day. NOT! We only had 22 miles to travel from Allentown to Forts Lake. I love days like that! The whole route was through the country and my maximum speed was 48 mph. That makes for a super Saturday.

After we settled in at Forts Lake, Pastor Tim and Sis. Ruth Cauley took us back to Mobile for supper at the Boiling Pot. You know they had to twist our arms pretty bad to get us to go there! It was delicious and plentiful as usual.

We were back at Tanner Williams Sunday morning for their annual Friends and Family day. It is highly unusual for us to be at the same church two Sunday mornings in a row, especially when we are not in revival there. Pastor Donald C. Williamson called a while back and requested we stay over after the Allentown meeting and be in this special service and we were glad to do it.

The church was pretty much packed out, the service was great and the meal was fabulous! We appreciate Bro. Williamson and the Tanner Williams Holiness church for taking us in as friends and family. We love you all so very much. May God bless you all for your kindness and love toward our family.

Sunday night we started revival at Forts Lake Assembly with Pastor Tim Cauley and his great folks. It has been a few years since we have been here but revival kicked off in high gear just like we had never left. I am sure we will have lots more pictures later in the week but here are a few that Kelly Jo snapped last night.

God bless you all.
