Christmas 2010 Recap

I know this post is long over due, please forgive me! Most of 2011 we have been in Louisiana and I did not have cell signal or wifi so that I could blog.

As I said before we had a great Christmas!!!! It was so good to be with our family! Christmas Eve we were with the Morgan side of the family. Christmas Day the Boggs family gathered at the Dodds fellowship hall. As always we enjoyed lots of food, laughter and fellowship at both Christmas gatherings!

14.Lisa made each of us Boggs kids a stocking, she is so thoughtful and creative! Lisa is a cousin from the Isaacs side of the family, but she is an adopted Boggs.

A note of interest: The Boggs grandchildren in order are: Andrea, Deidre, Victor Isaac, Lauren Jonas and Lucas. If you take the first five initials it spells ADVIL. We jokingly say Mamaw and Papaw need an “ADVIL” to put up with Jonas and Luke. LOL

Revival in Miami, Oklahoma

We start revival tonight in Miami, Oklahoma with Bro. Mike and Sis. Ruth Stephens.  We are so excited to be back here again this year and we are looking forward to God moving in the services.  We had a real special time in Miami last year and we were just getting good and acquainted with these folks when it was time to move on.  We are expecting more good revival services and folks experiencing God this week.

I really believe revival is imperative in these last critical hours.  We must have revival.  We must have a move of God in our personal lives, our families and in our churches.  We can not afford to be complacent as the world falls apart all around us.  Folks we know are going to hell.  They are bound by sin and cannot break the chains themselves.  We must prepare ourselves to meet with God and we must seek God's presence so that those around us will be drawn to God as well.  We must lift up Christ in our lives and He will draw others to Him.  We must have a move of God's Spirit. Revival is Imperative!

Revival is not only absolutely necessary but it is absolutely possible!  Friends, I believe that this kind of revival is within our reach.  God is able and willing to pour out His Spirit in these last days!  God promised that He would do it and He is not a liar.  I know that there must be a great falling away, but that doesn't mean that we have to be a part of it!  The church does not have to falter.  Christians do not have to live cold, uninspired lives.  We do not have to settle for memories of revival and testimonies of God's goodness in times past.  God is just as real today as He has ever been.  We can be just as saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost filled as the Apostles were.

Let's seek revival.  Let's repent of our sins.  Let's seek God's face.  Let's ask God to save the lost, bind up the brokenhearted, heal the sick and bring victory to the defeated.  Let's shake off complacency and ask God to fill us with hunger for righteousness.  I believe God will answer sincere prayers like that and give us revival in these last days.  While others fall away let's strive to be closer to God. 

Pray for us that we will be an instrument of revival in every church we have opportunity to sing and preach in. That really is our desire.  There is no other valid reason for us to do what we do.

Sterlington Holiness Tabernacle-Boyd's CD

Several months ago I posted about the Boyd's new CD "Working On A Building".  They recorded this wonderful CD to raise additional funds for construction of their new church building in Sterlington, Louisiana.  They are so very close to moving into their new Sanctuary and every CD they sell brings them that much closer to completion.  If you have not ordered their CD yet I encourage you to do so.  You will be blessed by Sis. Pastor Tracy Boyd and his wife Sis. Shea have three girls.  They recently went to Nashville and recorded a CD. The recording turned out great!  All the proceeds from the sale of the CD goes directly to the building fund of their church, Sterlington Holiness Tabernacle in Sterlington, Louisiana.  They have been building a new church and they have been building debt free. They need this CD to sell well to raise much needed funds for the completion of their new church.  They are selling the CD for $15 but I am sure they would not reject larger donations.  You will love the CD and your donation would be a great help.  They are super great people and have a wonderful congregation of fine folks. Traveling

We are traveling today and possibly tomorrow. We are leaving Pine Prairie, Louisiana this morning and pointing the BoggsMobile to Miami, Oklahoma.

As you can see it is cold here this morning, very cold for Pine prairie but it is much worse in Miami. Too bad I'm not starting revival in Miami, Florida. Thankfully the forecast for Oklahoma and Louisiana looks much better than this the next 10 days.

Pine Prairie Christian Tabernacle

Bro. Chris Juneau and Pastor Barry Gautreaux

These are the pictures I promised a few days ago. I was waiting for a sunny day to get the best pictures and Friday was beautiful.

Pastor Barry Gautreaux and his folks did an extensive amount of work inside and outside their church the last few months. They worked hard and it shows. It looks great!

Bro. Gautreaux pioneered the church in Pine Prairie over 14 years ago. He and his family have been faithful to the labor of harvesting souls. God has honored their commitment and blessed them with a fine group of folks that love God.

Friday night was Youth Rally. We had a big crowd and a great service. It was a blessing to see the young folks worshipping God. 

Sis. Shea Boyd and her girls sung as the Holy Ghost ministered to the church. 

The four Pastors in attendance: Pastors Tracy Boyd, Barry Gautreaux, Stacy Holden and Samuel Snow. 

May God continue to bless Bro. Gautreaux and Pine Prairie Christian Tabernacle.

John Boggs Revolutionary War

This was posted on a private Boggs Family site that I like to read when I can. I found this very interesting.

John Boggs (1759 DE-1847 KY) Revolutionary War Uniform

Description: Revolutionary War uniform of John Boggs who settled in Madison County, Ky no later than 1791.   The uniform pants (originally a gold color) and coat (originally a deep rust color) are of wool.   On public display at the Irvinton Museum on Lancaster Ave. adjacent to the Eastern Kentucky University campus, Richmond, Kentucky.   The construction of the pants and coat allowed the wearer to comfortably ride a horse.   It is estimated that John Boggs was of slender build about 5'3" or so.   The uniform was handed down through the family (son Benjamin Boggs, to his nephew Robert Boggs Turley, to his daughter Anna Turley Noland, to her son Turley Noland.)   The uniform was donated to the Eastern Kentucky University library about 1977 and believed to be one of only two uniforms in USA.   It was then given to the Richmond Tourist Bureau when EKU dispersed it's collection about 10 years ago.   The uniform is housed in a museum quality glass case in constant humidity and to protect it from UV light.

Homecoming Revival in Pine Prairie, Louisiana

In the last post I mentioned that sometimes the services where it seems God comes so close to us "seem" few and far between. Really there is no reason on God's part that it must be that way. The first three services at Pine Prairie Christian Tabernacle have been proof of that. The Homecoming on Sunday and the services the following two nights have been especially good. Folks have been responding to the singing, testifying and preaching. They have obviously prepared themselves for revival by much prayer and fasting and therefore God is honoring that by drawing us to Him. Praise God for that.

When we as a church get hungry for more of God, I mean really hungry for deeper experiences, God will satisfy that longing in our soul. When we are burdened for lost souls then God will begin to bring them in. When we are genuinely concerned for hurting people then God will bring those people to us and equip us to love them and help them. That is a huge part of revival!

I saw that desire last week in Pastor Jon Issacs and the Zoar church. I see it this week in Pastor Barry Gautreaux and the folks here. That is very exciting. It is an indicator of good things to come because you can count on God to keep His word. God will bring revival to His people in these critical hours if we hunger and thirst after revival. He will save the lost. He will bind up the broken hearted. He will deliver those that are bound. He will bring victory to those that are defeated. Hallelujah!

Can you tell I'm excited about revival? I sure am! I live to see God's people move toward Him because I know He will respond by moving toward us. I am looking for great things this week and next and all year long.

I've posted some pictures below of some the folks here in their newly remodled sanctuary and just a few of the Homecoming meal on Sunday. They have also completed a lot of work outside as well. I will try to take and post some of the outside later.

New Years Eve

We had a wonderful Watch Night Service on New Years Eve at Zoar Holiness Church. The crowd was good and it was evident from the beginning that the people came to worship. It was good from the very start.

The night began with a baby dedication. Pastor Jon and Sis. Heidi Isaacs asked our family to sing and conduct the dedication of Anna Kate Daleis Isaacs. It was beautiful and sweet and we were very honored to take part. She is a precious baby and fits in perfectly to their precious family. It was so nice of Anna Kate to cooperate with me so well as I held her. I will have to thank her for it someday. Here are a few pictures.

Bro. Rick Simpson and Bro. Jonathon Pricket both preached outstanding in the first part of the service. They prepared everything so well and the Lord was so near that all I needed to do was sing and exhort a few minutes. The folks came to the front to pray and God began to minister.

The night ended with a tremendous altar service. So many were receiving help from God that it was hard to keep track. It was a joy to be there and watch (and feel) God move among us. Sometimes those services seem too few and far between so I want to especially praise God for blessing and encouraging in the New Years Eve Service. (More pictures of Friday's service below.)

Hope your New Year is off to a good start. Revival is going great here in Louisiana. I'll post more about that later.
