On the way to church we stopped by the Adelani's to see their
church and home. Bro. Adelani interpreted 6 services for me 2007 in
Abeokuta and in the Minister's Conference this year. Now we are in the
city where he pastors. He is cooperating with Bro. Kuye and other
brethren in Ibadan to hold the Crusade and Conference here.
We are so glad to finally meet his family and see his church and
his home. We sat down in their home for a few minutes and enjoyed
their fine hospitality. We were amazed to see pictures of our family
on their walls and a sign of welcome as well.
May God bless the Adelani family in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Supper on Saturday

I probably get more comments and emails on the food pictures than I do anything else so here is another one. Supper today was in the hotel dining room.  They had quite a selection so it was a little hard to choose. We finally settled on Tender Goat with Spiced Rice.  It was very good and it was very spicy.  Probably a bit much spice for Odie but we liked it.
We are taking it easy this evening in order to be ready for the next four days.  My voice was pretty strong by service last night and of course I took advantage of the strength.  I hope to be completely ready by tomorrow morning.  I am used to preaching 6 or 7 times a week but 2 or 3 times a day for a few days is more than I handle and still keep my voice.  They said that John Wesley used to preach up to 9 times a day!  All I can say is that he was much more of a man that I am.
I will try to update you tomorrow...

Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria

Kelly Jo and Odie in our hotel in Ibadan.

We made the trip with Bro. Shobanke just fine from Abeokuta to Ibadan. It was a
beautiful drive through the country and numerous small cities and
villages. I tried to take pictures with my phone out the window but I
could not capture the beauty.
Pastor Salmon Adelani and Pastor Stephen Kuye have teamed up to
bring us to Ibadan for the Crusade and Minister's Conference. Bro.
Adelani came to Abeokuta to travel with us and Bro. Stephen met us
here at the hotel. We appreciate their fine hospitality and love for
the ministry.
Our first service is tomorrow morning in Bro. Stephen's church. It
will be a joint service with Bro. Salmon's church. Then the Gospel Crusade will begin Sunday night outside the same church. We are thankful to be in Ibadan and we are looking forward to what God is going to do here.

Winter Weather

Thought you might like to see the weather right now in Abeokuta.
12/5/09 and feels every degree of 102. Great day NOT to be in winter
weather at home.

Car Wash

I took this on the way to church last night. This is a typical car

Odie & Pastor David

This is Pastor David from Lagos. We met him in 2007.

Saturday morning

A picture of Odie and our driver Emmanuel. He is Bro. Shobanke's
nephew and is a great driver.

It is shortly after 11 am and we are preparing to leave for
Ibadan. We are supposed to leave around 12:30. We will be in Ibadan
until Wednesday night. When we finish there we will return to Abeokuta
before flying out of Lagos Thursday night.
We have not been to Ibadan in Oyo State but we are looking forward
to it. We have met some of the Pastors from there and we are looking
for a move of God. We will be having the Crusade at one church and the
Minister's Conference in another. Pray that God will help us.
We do not know about wifi there so we may be dependent on Odies
phone service for updates. I will let you know then.
God bless you every one.

The Doctor

Dr. Hunyinbo Kehinde Isaac is the man that challenged Dad to put the sermons from the Minister's Conference in 2007 into book form.
He is the only Doctor that has ever encouraged me to have faith in God for my miracle. We call him the "Good Doctor. ". Doctor Isaac is one of our special Nigerian friends.
Also here is little Isaac Shobanke. He is five years old.

Pastor Isaiah

Pastor Isaiah & Davy
They gave us a beautiful plaque for coming to be with them but the pic
on my phone is blurred. They were so kind to us just like every where
we have been. May God bless them for blessing us.
Bro. Shobanke has had several preachers here from the U.S. through
the years and I am privileged to be among them. It is certainly a
blessing for us to come to Abeokuta. We are sad to say Good-Bye to our
dear friends.
Tomorrow we leave for the city of Ibadan which is a very large
city to the North. I do not know if I will have access to wifi so I
will try to update tomorrow morning before we go.

Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church

Tonight was our last service in Abeokuta this year. We were in
Pastor Isaiah's church. It is a branch of Bro. Shobanke's church and
is also called Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church. We had a wonderful
service. Several young people came to the altar seeking salvation.
They came with tears and my heart reached out for them.
They are working on the road in front of the church and they said
it us an answer to prayer.

Bro. Shobanke came for nearly two hours today. He preached to and
prayed for Odie much of that time. Here's a pic after prayer.
He will be back about 4:30 to pick us up for church tonight. We will
be preaching for Pastor Isaiah here in Abeokuta.
We all rested good last night and are feeling much better than
yesterday.
Thanks for the comments and emails.

Minister's Conference Thursday

Today was the final day of the Ministers Conference in Abeokuta. This is a picture of those that attended the final day. Kelly Jo could not get them all in the pic but she took better ones with Odie's camera. We will post them and many others on our website after we are home.

The sermon today was "God's Purpose For You". It was well received and the altar service was great. We had prayer for Odie and I expected her to be healed at any moment. God moved wonderfully.

We are off this evening and tomorrow morning. Our next service is
tomorrow (Friday) night at another branch of Bro. Shobanke's church.

We are going to eat a snack and rest this evening. Please pray for our strength and the strength of my voice.

Brothers

This is me and Bro. Beckley. He is an evangelist in Nigeria. All the
folks gathered around to see us together. I wish I would have had my
African clothes on.
Speaking of African clothes, we received some more clothes tonight.
The men of the church had an outfit made for each of us. We will
probably wear them tomorrow and take a picture then. I also have two
more new outfits and the girls have two more that will be ready on
Saturday.
These precious people offer us their very best and we are very humbled
by their generosity.

Praying

Praying for the children before the candy is passed out. It is easy to
pray for these children with a genuine burden. They have so little reason to
hope in this world but so Much to hope in with God.

Crusade Candy

All the children the last night of the crusade get some candy from
America. I love to get among the children with the candy. It is mass
chaos and I love it. Once the candy started flowing it was moving to
fast to get a picture with my phone but here is a pic of the children
waiting.

Ruth & Odie

Sis. Ruth is Bro. Shobanke's daughter. She is 24 years old. She and
Odie are 10 months apart. She has a heart for God and leads in the
singing much of the time.

12/1/09 Weather

This was the weather just before church. Not to bad at all for an
outdoor Crusade in Africa!

12/1/09 Crusade

Tonight was the third night of the Gospel Crusade in Abeokuta. We
had several come forward for salvation and the Spirit of the Lord was
present to save and to heal.
One young lady that came to the altar really gripped my heart and I
wept and wept over her. She literally dragged herself along the ground
to the altar. I was only able to speak with her briefly but I asked
one of the pastors to get me her name and information. When I have
that I will tell you more about her.
I feel God's presence here very close but I see so many needs that
it makes me realize I need Him so much more.
The pic is of Bro. Shobanke and the Pastors under him. L-R Bro.
Lawrence, Bro. Isaiah, Bro. Israel, Bro. Shobanke, Davy, Bro. Amos &
Bro. Steven.
Bro. Lawrence pastors the church I preached in Sat. night and
Bro. Steven is his assistant.
Bro. Isaiah pastors the church I will preach in Fri. night and
Bro. Amos is his Assistant.

the conference in Bro. Shobanke's office.

12/1/09 am Altar

I think we had 100% in the altar today. Great move of the Lord.

12/1/09 Bro. Salmon Adelani

This is my dear brother in the Lord. He interpreted in the
ministers meeting last time and is doing it again this time. We plan
to be in his city of Ibadan next week for another Crusade & Minister's
Conference. We had a great time preaching together today!

12/1/09 Minister's Conference

The Minister's Conference is off to a good start this morning in
Abeokuta. It is being held in Bro. Shobanke's church. We had a great
crowd of preachers and church workers. This pic is of me preaching
along with Bro. Salmon Adelani interpreting.
It is now 2:15 pm and we are back at the hotel until 5:45. The
Crusade starts at 6:00. God bless you all.

Weather II

Next week in Ibadan, Oyo State looks more like the weather we
experienced in 2007. Notice Wednesday; 100 will be great with about
96% humidity. Good thing that's my last day to preach!
Heat, humidity, sweat and all, it's still great to be here! Thank God
for the opportunity to be here!
