Revival In Pictures - Amber, Oklahoma

We are having a wonderful revival this week at Amber Mission Holiness Church. We have been blessed with lots of visitor and the presence of God has been here to help each and every night. We have one more night and we are anxious to see what God is going to do in the service. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is going to be good.

One of our regular features for years has been our Revival In Pictures posts. These posts are always some of our most visited posts. We regularly hear from readers who look closely at the pictures from revivals and often see people they have not seen for years. It is amazing how folks we know all over the country are interconnected way back and they love to see pictures of their families.

Other readers view the pictures so they can finally put faces with the names they have heard through the years. They have heard of Pastor so and so but never met him. Or they have seen Pastor so and so but finally get to see his wife and children and the church he Pastors though our pictures.

We also have folks tell us they like to see the pictures of the church facilities, inside and out. They like to see the way the kitchen is laid out or how the instruments are arranged on the platform. Others want to see the actual musical instruments themselves. That is why you will occasionally see a closeup of a bass guitar or an electric guitar.

Now that we are back in the routine of revivals every week, we are back with Revival In Pictures. We sure hope you enjoy the Amber Mission Revival In Pictures.

Thanks for reading.

Odie's On The Road Again! Newsletter - January 2017

       On The Road Again!

Odie's "On The Road Again!" newsletter is being mailed out today but as a reward for reading the blog faithfully, you get the newsletter here first. Hopefully you can read it. As with all pictures on the blog, you should be able to click it and see the picture in a larger format.

Odie asked me about starting a newsletter when we first went on the road in January of 2003. She has stayed at it all this time and it has become a very integral part of our ministry. Thanks for reading and thanks for all the encouragement you give Odie. I hope you have a great day.

Back In The Saddle Again

We are officially back in the saddle again. We left home Thursday and we had four different services in four different churches over the weekend and we had a wonderful time. But revival is where we feel most at home. Revival is where God has called us to be. Revival is where we love to be. It feels good to be back in revival!

Kelly Jo and Odie have never been to the Amber Church and I had only been here once in December 1991. This church was a part of the Oklahoma City Reach and we were thrilled to have them. We knew some of the folks for many years but we met most of them in City Reach.

Bro. Russell Cheek came to be their Pastor later in the summer and the rest in history. We have known Bro. Russell and Sis. Tonya for many years and we are so glad to be here with them and these fine folks.

The service tonight was outstanding! Folks responded from the very beginning and it was wonderful. I love watching people respond to the Word of God and seek God with all their heart. I also love watching God respond to their faith and move in their lives. It is an amazing process and I never tire of it.

It is all part of the wonderful thing called revival. It is what the church needs. It is what our nation needs. It is what our world needs. We must have God moving in our lives and working miraculously in our society.

God send revival to us once again. Give us the courage to turn from sin and turn toward you. Give us grace and forgiveness. Give us a hunger for righteousness and a hatred for sin. Save us, sanctify us, fill us with the Holy Ghost. God give us revival!

Do you desire revival in your personal life, in your family and in your church? I believe that God will give you revival when you seek Him with your whole heart. Let us agree to do that. Let us seek revival together.

Below are a few pictures of our first night here. I am sure we will have more to follow. Thank you for reading.

Travel Day, Monday January 2, 2017

Monday was a long busy day. I intended to begin posting some 2016 in review posts today but I did not get to it. Maybe I will begin tomorrow.

Sunday was the third late night in a row after three travel days so I let the girls rest a while Monday morning. I had some business to attend to but none of it required a super early start.

It was warmish in Wichita and I had intended to wash the BoggsMobile. It needs it badly. Then I heard the rain. There is no since in washing the bus and then running down wet interstate at 70 MPH. It will be toooooo cold to wash it the rest of this week but I should have a chance to do it next week in south Texas.

By mid-morning Kelly Jo and I went to meet Bro. John and Sis. Judy DiZazzo for one last visit before we left town. We love these folks and we are thankful to count them as friends. We may not see them until October so there were lots of hugs all around.

KJ went to fetch tacos from the taco truck down the street since we probably will not see them until October either. Hugging a taco is too messy but there were lots of tears of joy while eating them!

Then we finally hit the road. We had a nice uneventful three hour drive to Oklahoma City, just like we like it. We only had one traffic slow down and that was in OKC. It took us 14 minutes to go 1.5 miles so everyone could look at the fender bender that was COMPLETELY off the road and not hindering traffic at all.

I was a little anxious to finish the trip because we had more Mexican food waiting at the other end. We pulled into Mt. Vernon Church, loaded up in the car with Bro. Rickey Searcy and his family and drove a short distance to my favorite Mexican place out here, Chelino's on 42nd and Robinson.

They know exactly what I mean when I say I want the onions crispy!

It was great to see our long term friends! We have not been with them much lately and we were overdue on a Searcy fix! Bro. Rickey and his church have stuck with us through thick and thin and back to thick again and we love them very much.

Here I am with my sweet little Javonia!

Monday night, Kelly Jo and Odie made a WalMart run to stock up on everything. We must have been near starvation because I think they brought some where around 147 bags in the bus. We are going to need a new landfill for all those bags!

I worked on a bunch of year end correspondence for several hours. I have much more to go but I am feeling better now that I have at least started the task. We should have the new edition of Odie's Newsletter later this week and I am hoping to have these year end letters ready to go into some of them.

I thought that computers were going to do away with any need for paper. How is that working out for you?

All of this computer work is complicated by the fact that I do not have my crashed hard drive restored yet and much of the information I need is still inaccessible. Well, if it was easy, I guess anyone could do my job, right?

I hope your new year is off to a good start. Thank you for reading.
