Post from the Past

Not much time for blogging today so I thought I would go back in the archives and dig up where we were on this date in the past. Three years ago we were in revival in Riverdale, California and we had just recorded our Havin' Church Live in California CD. Those were fun times with a lot of memories.

We love looking at these old pictures. We thought we would share with you.

From October 22, 2010

Wednesday night we closed revival at Riverdale Assembly with a good service. God was working among the lost and a few responded. We appreciate Pastor Spencer and his church for having us for revival and for all their kindness.

Yesterday we worked on correcting some vocals on the recording and hope to finish up this evening. (Friday) It has been so much fun to work with Bro. Chuck and Bro. Dale Spencer. These guys are very talented and a barrel of laughs. It has been our privilege and pleasure to work with these guys the last few weeks.

We hope to have the Live CDs in our hands by March 1. Of course there are many factors involved in putting a project like this together but that is our target date. We are taking preorders and a few churches and several individuals have already ordered. The preorders help us with financing the project and we are very thankful for each one. I'll put the necessary information below.

Health wise we are all doing well. We praise God that our voices are pretty strong. We are praying for so many that are sick and many that are facing difficult circumstances. When I realize what others are facing it is easier to be thankful for the blessings we have even when they are tempered with a few trials.

Mr. Cheap Jeep spent a few days in the hospital again this week but he seems to be feeling better now. It needed the front wheel bearings replaced along with the valve cover gaskets and a few vacuum hoses. I appreciate Bro. Tim Goldsmith from here in Riverdale taking care of Mr. Jeep for me. We have spent a little money on it the last three weeks and will probably have to replace the tires soon but that is still better than having a newer vehicle with a monthly payment. We thank God for Mr. Cheap Jeep.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday and today. Below the pictures is the information for preordering the Live CD.

Thanks,

Davy

The Live CD can be preordered by sending $15 for each CD to our P.O. Box. Make sure you include your address clearly printed. When we receive the project we will ship it to you. We will cover the costs of shipping on all preorders. If a church wishes to preorder 10 or more CDs the cost will be $10 each and we will ship all the CDs to a single address. I have a form for churches. If you would like a copy of the form drop me an email and I will send you one. Make checks payable to Boggs Family Ministries

Preparations For Nigeria Trip

___________________

The dedication service for the new church in Nigeria is scheduled for 12:00 noon on November 2nd. This my official invitation letter.

If you need to see any picture bigger you can always left click on the picture.

Preparations are moving right along for our upcoming trip to Nigeria. We are planning to fly out on October 31st. That means we have about nine days to go. Kelly Jo and I are both very excited about this trip. We were there in December 2012 but we are very anxious to see everybody again.

In preparation we always make a big Walmart run to try to buy all of the things we will need for the trip. Kelly Jo always has a pretty big list of items and this time was no exception. While we were taking care of that we were also buying lots of candy for all of the children in the church and more candy, pens, paper, markers, flashcards and many other things for Bro. Shobanke's Christian school.

I love the Christian school and we want to be supportive of it in every way we can. We are going to spend some time there on Monday November 4th and we hope to put a great big smile on the faces of the students and teachers if we can.

Pastor Larry Lamb and the Full Gospel Lighthouse in Sweeny, Texas donated $200 toward all the candy and gifts for the school. It was a very thoughtful and generous gift. They have always been a mission minded church and I know that God will bless them for that. Thank you all for your kindness to my little friends in Nigeria. I promise to soak up as much of their love as I can and bring some back to you!

The Christian School in December 2012

We normally do not have enough room to take very much stuff when we travel to Nigeria. We usually have our clothes for two weeks plus a couple of hundred books to give to the preachers. Since this is a shorter trip and we will not be conducting a Minister's Conference we think we can get most of our clothes in one piece of luggage. That means we have three pieces of luggage more for candy and such. I think this is going to be a fun trip.

I am sure that we will make one final run to Walmart for last minute items that we forgot the other day but most of what remains is packing. Kelly Jo is the master packer and she will be doing as much of that as she can this week. Thank you for all of your prayers. It seems to all be coming together.

Sunday in Pine Prairie, Lousiana

______________

______________

Sunday started off pretty chilly for this part of the world and Odie has a picture to prove it.

39 degrees! I think winter time is on the way.

It did warm up later and turned out to be a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the temperature was just right and we had wonderful services at the Christian Tabernacle in Pine Prairie, Louisiana. Yes, it was a beautiful day.

We have been coming to Pine Prairie for several years now and Pastor Barry Gautreaux and Sis. Teresa are some of our best friends. They are super great people and they pastor a great church.

Their church folks have embraced us as family and we love to come here for revival. We always have good services and both services Sunday followed the usual pattern. It is fun to sing and preach to these folks and watch them respond. We are expected great things from God the next three nights.

Here are a few pictures of the folks that were here Sunday morning and Sunday night.

Already eating some good food here as usual! I tell it every where I go that some of the best food in the world is found right here in Pine Prairie. It is definitely NOT a good place for a diet.

Bro. Gautreaux and his folks are in the process of building a new sanctuary and it is coming right along. It is going to be an awesome addition with plenty of room for growth.

Kelly Jo has her own room at Pine Prairie Christian Tabernacle. The Kelly Jo Room is the laundry room built on the back porch of the fellowship hall. She is pretty important around here and that is no joke at all!

I am sure we will have more pictures of the folks here before we leave and head toward Pensacola and then on to Africa. Speaking of Africa, I hope to have a post up tomorrow about our preparations for the trip.

God bless you all.
