Nigeria Update #10 - Saturday 12/8/12

Update #10
We were not able to post from Nigeria as we had planned. This is an update that I wrote while there. Please scroll down for additional updates or see a list of Recent Posts to the left.

8:20 AM
We both slept a little better and we thank God for that.

The last day of the Ministers Conference is upon us. It is hard to believe this trip is wrapping up soon. We looked forward to it so long and in two days we will be leaving.

I do hate to leave these folks so bad. I know that it will probably be two years before we see most of them again. I suppose that is part of being an evangelist.

Bro. Shobanke does his very best to treat us well. He is a terrific host. I pray that God blesses him tremendously for the blessing he is to us.

8:05 PM
What a wonderful conclusion to the Ministers Conference. The men and women filled the altars today dedicating themselves to God's service. It was beautiful. I challenged them this morning to walk in purity before God and they responded. I believe God performed a lasting work in some hearts and lives.

It was great to see the preachers and all of the church workers rejoicing and praising God at the end. Bro. Shobanke danced and shouted like a young man. It was a refreshing move of the Holy Ghost.

These were services #11 and #12 today and God helped in a mighty way. God bless all that were praying. I could feel the strength and the help of God. He helped me boldly declare some things I needed to preach and I believe it was in response to your prayers.

When it was time to say goodbye we hugged and wept all over the place. These people have my heart and I sure hate to part from them. They were all declaring that God would send me back in 2013. I told them we will see. If He sends me back I will be glad to come.

We are aiming for bed soon because we must rise early in the morning. Bro. Shobanke will be here around 7:30 AM. It is about a two hour drive to Ibadan if all goes well.

We will be preaching one service for Bro. Kuye there and then coming back tomorrow afternoon by God's grace. I will try to tell you more about his church tomorrow.

I hope you are enjoying the pictures we are posting each day. There is no way to capture the excitement of these services or to convey what we feel while we are there. I am afraid a few words and pictures will never communicate it well but that is all we can do.

This is Dr. Hull and his wife Arleta. They are the Baptist missionaries that I wrote about earlier. Dr. Hull came to the Ministers Conference on Friday morning and they both attended Saturday morning. It was very kind of them to visit the conference.

It is common today to turn a cold shoulder toward those that do not believe just like you but how Christ like is that? We decided long ago to err on the side of compassion and kindness and it has always proven to be the best route. The Hull's extended their hospitality to us and we tried to do the same to them.

God bless you all.

Home Update 12/21/12

I hope you have been enjoying the updates and pictures from our Nigeria trip. I still have several to post. I am still excited about the things the Lord has done. It was awesome to be an eye witness to it.

Pastor Tim Webb had invited us to Waterloo Holiness Church for a service while we were in for Christmas. Wednesday night was the appointed time so away we went to northern Kentucky.

We had a super great service. I enjoyed singing and preaching to his folks so much. They responded very well and we had a great altar service and prayer line afterward.

I hope these good services this week are an indication of what The Lord is going to do in 2013. Our nation needs a move of God and I want to do everything in my power to promote it. I can not bring revival. But I certainly want to be an instrument in God's hand if possible.

Pastor Tim Webb and Davy

After church I "taxt" my Bro. Steve. I knew he had been working late and he was still working at 10:00. We met him at Camp Washington Chili in Cincinnati. It is a one of a kind place near his work like the Gold Star and Skyline franchises.

It was so good and we enjoyed the fellowship too. Camp Washington Chili is just east of I-75 at Hopple St. exit 3. Stop in sometime.

Kelly Jo has not been feeling well since Thursday morning. I do not think it was the Camp Chili since there is a stomach bug going around. We were going to visit some sick folks on the way to church Thursday but decided they did not need a bug if that's what it is.

That pretty much brings you up to date on us this week. God bless you all.

Nigeria Update #9 - Friday 12/7/12

Update #9
We were not able to post from Nigeria as we had planned. This is an update that I wrote while there. Please scroll down for additional updates or see a list of Recent Posts to the left.

There will be a second post today about noon with current news from home.

3:00 AM
We went to bed early and with a little better result. Kelly Jo made it about 4 hours and I made it about 5.

Kelly Jo has been struggling with allergies and combined with the lack of rest she is feeling pretty miserable.

Many of you know how weak her lungs are and I know that you pray for her. She needs it right now.

If I could ask for special prayer right now I would do it. But lacking good communication through the phone or Internet I will depend on something better.

It is about 3:00 AM Friday morning here and 9:00 PM eastern time Thursday night. I believe God is quickening Holy Ghost filled saints all across America right now to pray for us.

I am believing God with other saints that God is going to heal my wife and give her rest.

Praise God for His help and healing power. He is our rock. He is our deliverer. He is our healer. We are trusting that He will do what is best for us.

Thank you for praying.

6:25 PM
God came to us and helped us at 3:00 AM when we were praying for Kelly Jo. She is not completely well but she was able to breathe better and get some more rest this morning. Thank God for it.

We found out today at church that Bro. Shobanke was up at 3:00 AM praying for us. I knew that some one was praying for us. I knew God had quickened some one to pray.

I hope to find out later who was praying for us in the states at that specific time. I imagined different families in each time zone feeling led to hold our family up before God.

Thank you for praying and thank God for answering your prayers. As I said, Kelly Jo is not completely well but she is a whole lot better than she was at 3:00 AM this morning. Hallelujah!

The services were great again today at the Ministers Conference. Thank you to those that committed to pray for services #9and #10.

I am really thankful for all who are coming each day. God moved in the hearts of these men and women again today. Several more men traveled from other cities that had to return home after the services. It is a real hardship for them to travel so far for one day but they are hungry for God to move in their lives. They expect God to speak to them in the preaching. It is a great  responsibility on me to hear from heaven and communicate to these men.

I am preaching on two different themes in the conference. I preach on one theme in the first session of the day and another in the second session.

The second session is divided into two messages so it makes for three sermons a day. I am sure that Bro. Lockwood is hearing enough of me to last him a while!

The ministers and church workers seem to be soaking it up. I am always concerned that I am not clear enough but they assure me that they understand completely.

Pastor Adelani from Ibadan is next to me translating into Yoruba so what they do not understand in English they glean the rest from him. He always does a great job. This is the fourth ministers conference we have done together.

We have two more services in the conference tomorrow and then we go to Ibadan for one service on Sunday. I know that some one is praying for services #11 and #12 tomorrow. I can feel God's help.

I will really be issuing a challenge to the men and women in service #11. I know God is going to give us some great victories in that altar service.

Well it is nearly 6:30 PM in the evening and Kelly Jo is already in bed. She came in after eating and was spent. She is determined to get some sleep when she can get it. I do not blame her. I am not too far from sleep myself.

Here are some pictures from today.

God bless everyone of you.
