El Charro With the Zerbel's and OBI Students

Earlier this week the Zerbel's took us to El Charro for a great meal and fellowship. We have known the Zerbel's for years and always enjoy being with them. They attend Victory where we are in revival and it is good to be in service with them again.

We are having great revival services this week. God has been helping every night. We are so thankful that He is mindful of us. We have been taking lots of pictures this week and we will try to have them ready to post tomorrow.

God bless,

Davy

Several students from OBI came to eat with Odie as well.

Miami Missionary Tent Company

Yesterday (Wednesday) I visited Miami Missionary Tent Company and the tent is now being scheduled for production.

I had a great visit with Mr. David Tromsness and worked out the final details on the tent. I had to order it in December to lock in the price but I wanted to be there to personally go over some ideas before they built it. He is now working it into the production schedule and it should be completed by the week of February 13th. You folks know I am excited about this tent and yesterday only heightened that excitement. Walking into that place, smelling the vinyl, putting my hands on tents, stakes and poles made me hungry to raise that tent and preach the gospel.

That is really what this is all about. It is NOT about Davy Boggs and whether or not I can sing or preach or stir up a crowd. It is NOT about Boggs Family Ministries and whether or not some one has a good opinion of what we are doing. It is NOT about having a new tent or bigger tent or better tent.

It IS about winning souls in each and every way God makes available to us. It is plain to us and our ministry board and to others who advise us that God is leading us down this path for the time being and we are all excited about the souls that were saved last summer under the tent and excited about the souls that are going to be saved under this tent!

I praise God for this new tool for us to use to win souls!

I praise God for every church, Pastor and community that has invited us to set up this tent and to preach to their friends, family and neighbors.

I praise God for every person last year that drove at stake, held a pole, tightened a strap or carried water to those that did!

I praise God for the Millikin Family joining us for four weeks last summer and the three weeks they are planning to spend with us this summer. They were and always are a tremendous blessing and asset!

I praise God for every person that helped to carry the load financially last year and to those that have committed to do so this year.

I praise God for Pastor Phillip Sanders and Faith Church in Salem, Kentucky for bearing the load in buying this new tent. I praise God for Israel Sanders leading that effort and feeling the burden for us.

(You can read about God's provision and direction concerning this new tent HERE and HERE.)

I praise God for each person that is praying for us and cheering us on.

I praise God for my wife following me in this wild and crazy adventure.

I give glory and honor to God for helping us in every aspect of these tent revivals. The planning, logistics and finances of all this is way to much for me. It hurts my little brain to think about it all but God has blessed every step of way!

Can you tell I am just a little bit excited? Yep, I am and I plan to stay that way! We have a long year ahead of us. We have a lot of work to do in addition to our regular revivals and our commitment to missions but I am thrilled at the prospect of each new day and opportunity. I can not wait to see what God is going to do in lives!

I will be writing more about this in the coming weeks. I will be sharing with you my plans and prayer request as well as keeping you up to date with our progress. Thanks for reading and praying for us. God bless you every one!

RV Park/Revival/Tents/Chairs

We are like the lonely little Christmas tree that is the last one on the lot. We are parked in the Neosho city owned RV park and we are the only ones here. Actually we like the solitude and we are only about 3 minutes from the church. No noisy neighbors and the only sounds at night are the trains passing by. The park has ten grass/gravel sites and they all have 50 amps and water. Not too shabby for $12 a night!

Revival is going good at Victory Assembly. We are having a great time visiting with Pastor James Link and his family. Pastor Link has preached in Nigeria quite a bit in years past and has also been involved in tent revivals in Europe so we are gleaning all the information that we can. I love to listen to folks tell about their varied experiences in the ministry. It is amazing the doors of opportunity that God can open. We are certainly enjoying our visits with the Link family and the revival services.

Today I am meeting with David Tromsness the owner of the Miami Missionary Tent Company. We will go over our final arrangements for the new tent and it will be scheduled for production soon. I hope to have more information to post tomorrow. I am very excited!

It certainly looks like the black chairs won the day over the white chairs in THIS BLOG POST. The white chairs didn't stand a chance and for good reason. Who would want 200 silly old white chairs anyway. They will just stain, scratch, scar and mar in a few uses. I can not believe anybody would want that! Can You?

So Black it is!

We hope to order them around February 1.

Have a great day!

A Birthday in Review

Thank you for all the birthday greetings yesterday. It was a wonderful day capped off with a wonderful altar service at church last night. Praise God for his blessings and help. God makes living a pleasure and is the only real joy in our lives.

I am so thankful that God has allowed our family to know Him and serve Him in these last exciting days. There were many times in years past that I wondered if we would ever make it through some of the difficult places. But by God's grace we lived to see other difficult times and many, many more joyous times as well.

Yesterday was definitely a chocolate day. These are from Kelly Jo and Odie.

I am writing a new song. "Hershey Drops round us are falling but for the showers we plead!"

A chocolate ice cream cake from the Victory church folks!

Chocolate covered coffee beans from the Metzger family in Montana hand delivered by Bro. Peter Metzger last night. Bro. Peter is attending OBI here in Neosho. What a surprise!

A gift basket from the church with chips & salsa AND a big bag of Russell Stover Chocolates!

Of course we had some Mexican along the way as well! So good!

Thank you for helping turn a bland January Birthday into a grand day. We have been abundantly blessed with friends and you all are evidence of that.

God bless you all.

January 14, 2012 Travel Day

Today (Saturday) was a long travel day but we made it safe and sound. The screen shot of the GPS shows 387 miles and I can vouch for every one of them. I am going to prepare this to post later and then I am going to bed. We start revival in the morning so I need to have a fresh mind. Thanks for praying for us..

Davy
