Vintage View Vednesday - Paw Creek Ministries 2006

The Vintage View post today brings back some great revival memories. One of the greatest revivals we have ever been a part of began as Winter Camp Meeting for Pastor Joseph Chambers and the folks at Paw Creek Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was a sovereign move of God.

It was actually two revivals at once. We were having revival at night for the church and revival during the day in the school. Both revival experienced a glorious move of God for three weeks.

The second or third night of revival three or four people came to the altar for salvation. The next night, three or four more came. By the following night a soul saving avalanche had begun. Friday night there were six adult men praying for salvation. It was a glorious time.

Bro. Chambers announced on Thursday of the first week that we were going on a second week. It was the first two week revival the church had experienced in nearly 35 years. Early in the second week, Bro. Chambers announced revival would go the third week. They had never had a three week revival.

God saved multiple people each night and also in the school revival during the day. The revival re-lit a fire within me to win souls that still burns bright today. It also filled me with faith to believe that if the gospel is preached, God will do the work of salvation!

I told you that Bro. Chambers announced the extension of revival twice. He did not consult me in the decision at all. I never questioned his decisions because it was obvious I had stumbled into the will of God and I was not anxious to move away from the revival God was pouring out.

I kept canceling revivals until the revival in Charlotte had run its course by divine providence. I knew it was a God sent revival that was not propelled or promoted by my strength or human ingenuity.

Our next revival was as dead as a hammer. I suppose God wanted to make sure I knew it was Him and not me! I definitely received the message and I am very glad to give God the glory.

I told you recently that we were in the process of rolling our original website address, davykellyandodie.com, into this site. Bro. David Johnston completed a big step in that process last week.

When you go to davykellyandodie.com you will be directed here instead of our static website that Bro. Johnston created years ago. We could have let that domain address drift into oblivion but decided against it for two reasons.

First, that is the address that many people have used for years and it is the only way they have of finding us. I could see no reason to muddy the waters and cause loyal readers to lose track of our web presence.

Secondly, davykellyandodie.com does not eat near as much as the real live Davy, Kelly and Odie do so it did not make much sense to drop the domain. It only cost about $10 a year to maintain that domain so cost was not a concern.

I am not finished with the job yet. There are links on some of the main Mile Marker pages that go to old pages on the now defunct website. As I get time, I will take those links down or redirect them to valid links.

Another change is that the old website email address is no longer valid. That old address was davy@davykellyandodie.com. It was the address listed on the website. 

I have no idea how many readers use it because it was automatically forwarded to our gmail address, davykellyandodie@gmail.com. If you send email to us, you might want to check and see which one you have in your address book.

Weekend Woundup and Weview 2/19/2018

Before I launch into a description of our weekend, I want to ask you again to Pray for Bro. Bill Houston. He is is desperate need of a miracle in his body. Please pray Bro. Bill and his wife, Sis. Darien.

We finished revival Friday night in Sweeny, Texas with another great altar service. I sure appreciate the way the folks at Full Gospel Lighthouse responded to the preaching all week long. That really makes the difference in revival.

Here are a few pictures from Friday.

We visited with our friends quite a while Friday night after tearing down the sound system and packing it away. They were asking us to stay and it was a little sad to leave them.  But I always go by the adage that Bro. Bill Houston taught me years ago. "It is better to leave with them wishing you to stay, than to stay with them wishing you would leave!"

Saturday I visited a while with Pastor Lamb and then it was time to hook up the car, crank the BoggsMobile, unhook the electric and hit the road. I did those things in that order and soon we were ready to go.

I usually leave Sweeny at night because we are usually crossing Houston when we leave. Night time is definitely the best time to drive through or even around Houston. Our last time through at night the traffic was light but because of a road closure, we had to pay $42 dollars for the privilege to driving 37 miles on the toll road. Ouch!

I hoped Saturday traffic would not be too bad, but I knew better. I am sure it was better than daytime Monday through Friday but it was a nerve wracking mess. I suppose I was exercising my right to be lazy by not leaving Friday night.

Once we made it to the north side of Houston I needed a few minutes to calm my nerves. We just "happened" to know of a Sam's parking lot right next door to a newly remodeled Golden Corral in Humble, Texas. Score!

About an hour and 15 minutes after leaving Sam's, we were pulling into Beech Creek Assembly near Livingston, Texas. This is our third revival for Pastor Don Goodwin here so we know where to park and we were ready to unload sound equipment in a few minutes.

We might would have taken a nap for a few minutes before loading in, but the weather guessers were guessing rain. We would rather not get us OR the sound equipment soaked unless absolutely necessary so we loaded in.

Kelly Jo and I loaded in, set up and then did sound check and sang. We were there for about three hours and a great afternoon turned into a great evening.

I think we all rested well Saturday night and woke up ready to enjoy a wonderful Sunday in revival with God's people. It was a great day!

We had two great services, two great meals with friends and wonderful fellowship all along the way. We will only be here through Wednesday so we will try to pack in as much revival as we can! It should be fun.
