Another Helping Hand From Mississippi

This week we have had some extra help working on the house. Bro. Marty and Sis. Alicia Estes from Mississippi brought their four children to Ohio and spent some of their vacation helping us. They were an incredible blessing!

They arrived in the night Sunday night and Bro. Marty showed up at the house about 8:00 AM and worked like a mule helping any way he could. He ran wire, walked rafters, climbed ladders, moved scaffolding, fetched tools and a thousand other things over two days. He worked a full day on Tuesday and a very full day on Monday.

We did have a little time Monday evening to take them for a sip or two of salsa. Steve, Karen and Deidre met us at Acapulco too.

Steve hit it off with the kids and before you knew it they were at his house petting chickens.

Bro. and Sis. Estes called several weeks ago and told us their intentions to help for a couple of days. I could not predict exactly where we would be in the building process on their proposed dates but their timing worked out perfectly. It was super great to have them and their gift of labor was a wonderful blessing to our family.

They need to move on south this morning but they drove over an hour last night to be with us on the first night of revival at Pentecostal Faith Church in New Miami. We met these friends years ago in church so it was only fitting that we were in church together again before they left.

May God bless these dear friends for sowing into our lives. We are definitely the better for it!

This is the second batch of workers from Mississippi as well as volunteers from Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. There are more on the way and we are looking forward to seeing them all.

Thank you for kindly dropping in today.

On The Road Again Newsletter - June 2017

Odie's "On The Road Again" Newsletter is going out to churches in the mail today. Because you stop in here each day, you get to read it first.

The Newsletter is two sided this month with more pictures than normal so that churches can see the progress on the house. I will post pictures of each side and post the contents of the newsletter separately as well.

Either Blogger or the internet is giving me trouble and I am having trouble loading the proper pictures in the correct order. Ugh! I do have most of the pictures from the newsletter below but they are all out of order.

I will post the text first.

Exiting Work in Progress

Hey Friends, I hope you are doing well. We are doing very good. It has been a full spring for us. Lots of traveling, a terrific month in Hodgenville, KY and many great services. It has been wonderful to see God move! Also there has been a "little bit" of a project going on at "The Lazy OD Ranch". It is definitely an exciting time at the Boggs Family Ministries head-quarters.

Here is a little recap. Pastor Scott Morris and a lot of our friends from around the world have joined to together to build a house for my future. It will be handicap accessible, designed to meet my needs. I love traveling and working with my parents and plan to do so as long as we are all able, according to God's will.

The first shovel of dirt was dug on April 16th. It was a race after that. Here is a list of things completed over the next month: dirt work, gravel brought in, footers poured, block laid, underground plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and the slab poured on May 17th.

On May 23rd the framing of the house began. It was an amazing sight to behold, watching the house quickly take shape. Bro. Larry Hall brought his framing crew including his brother Joe and nephew Josh. They worked at a greatly reduced rate, some for free, and made this project happen. Pastor Wade Hicks played a huge role in this.

Bro. Scott Morris and Bro. Sheldon Walley drove all the way from Richton, Mississippi to help in the framing. We also had people from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Mississippi here working. I am overwhelmed when I think about all the HARD labor that is going into this project. We even had our friend Bro. Shobanke from Nigeria to cheer us on for a few days.

Currently my Dad and my Pappaw Eugene are working hard on the electrical part of the construction and Bro. Galen Cummins in Sapulpa, OK is designing all the cabinets. It is exciting to behold his designs that will make things accessible for me.

We are happy and thrilled to report that everything is paid for to this point. We give God glory and God's people thanks for making this possible. I sincerely appreciate it all from the bottom of my heart.

We still have lots of work ahead of us this summer. Everyday we are working on something. We will keep you informed on the progress. You can always see our daily posts at www.boggsblogs.com. Please keep us in your prayers!

Well, the engine is not starting today, but I had better get back to work until the BoggsMobile rolls again.

Weekend Woundup and Weview #24

We started the weekend with working on the house, then threw in great visits with old friends and a bowl or two of salsa and ended it with church and a little driving. It does not get much better than that.

Dad and I put in a long day Friday wiring the house and then several more hours on Saturday. About noon Saturday I drove less than 15 minutes to the Warren County Airport and picked up Mitch Boggs Jr. and his friends Kevin and Ken.

Ken owns the small plane, Kevin was flying and Mitch was along for the ride. Well, Mitch was the reason for the ride. He came to measure the roof, look it all over and figure a material list.

Mitch and his crew plan to be back here the last week of June to install the roof and all the rest of the metal. It was super great to see him and we are looking forward to having the whole bunch with us very soon.

After an hour or so he had worked up an appetite and I happened to know about a little placed close by that serves good salsa!

My friend, David Riddell, drove over from Hillsboro to see us and they arrived in time for salsa too, although not coincidentally.😀 David is about the longest of my long term friends and it was great to see him. There had been too much time between visits and we are already making plans to fix that soon.

Mitch is on the right, Kevin is next to him and then Ken.

I was blessed to see two very good friends, make some new friends and drink a bit of salsa too. That is not too bad for short Saturday afternoon.

I delivered Mitch, Kevin and Ken back to the airport and then worked more on the house while Kelly Jo and Odie went to an open house for Brooklyn Coffman. She graduated from high school recently and every graduate needs cake, ice cream and cards!

Sunday morning started early as we drove to Hodgenville, Kentucky to be in service at Hodgenville Pentecostal Church again.

We had a wonderful service and a great visit with our friends! We appreciate Pastor Webb and his folks so much.

After a fine lunch with the Webb family we drove about 2 1/2 hours to West Harrison, Indiana to be with Pastor Wade Hicks and his church for Sunday night service. God touched in the service and we enjoyed it tremendously.

Pastor Hicks received a special offering to go toward the house being built for Odie and we appreciate that very much. Their church had already given many hours in labor toward framing the house so now we are doubly indebted to them. May God bless them for their kindness.

These next pictures were taken by Sis. Chrissy Hicks Sunday night.

We visited a while at Frisch's and then Kelly Jo drove us a little over an hour home. It was a long day but it was worth every minute and mile of it to experience two great altar services. I love to watch God work.

We have today off, except for working on the house, then we begin revival tomorrow night at Pentecostal Faith Church in New Miami, Ohio. We are looking forward to it.

Thank you for reading today.
