View Out The Front Window November 21, 2015

Check out our posts from the last week at the links below.

Here was our view out the front window Wednesday morning in Vonore, Tennessee.

This was our view out the front door.

I usually snap some pictures out the window when the bus is in the shop here but I was gone most of the day. After the work was completed for the day, Jeff backed into a spot along the building and plugged it up to electricity.

Here is the view from the window.

The view out the front door was only inches away from the slide on the beautiful bus next to us so the picture was mostly my reflection.

Here is a picture of the side view.

Here is the view out the door at the KOA in Cartersville, Georgia.

The view out the window at the same place.

I hope you have a great Sunday.

True Bravery

Hi friends,

This Odie reporting once again from a rolling BoggsMobile. The bus is pointed south this morning. We are looking forward to being with Pastor Tony St Cyr this weekend in Adairsville, Georgia. Dad mentioned yesterday that we will be singing tonight at 6:00 and singing and preaching Sunday morning.

I hope you have had a good week. We had four great services at First Assembly in Douglas, Georgia. Our time with Pastor Marshall and Sis. Paige Adcock went by too quickly. We look forward to spending more time with them soon.

Wednesday night we said a final earthly farewell to a precious friend. I miss sweet Sis. Mary Isham and our hearts are so heavy for Bro Joel Isham and their families. We cannot answer the question of why and what right now, but I am secure in this fact, we will see Mary again very soon in Heaven. Mary lived an amazing life, faithful to the Lord!

Dad said something at Mary's funeral that struck a chord with me. "You say you would die for the Lord, but will you live for the Lord?" I want to live a sold out, unwavering, faithful life for the Lord. Living faithfully for God may prove to be a challenge but it must be done.

I have reflected a lot this week on one of my favorite childhood memories. I loved listening to the radio. I remember loving to hear a certain old song by Tom Green played on WFCJ 93.7. Years later they were still playing the song and during a station tour we learned "Forty Brave Soldiers For Jesus" was the only song in rotation that was still played from an actual record album.

Now that I am older I truly appreciate the stand these men took for Christ. Here is a link to the audio on You Tube of "Forty Brave Soldiers For Jesus". You can find their story through Google. I encourage you to look it up and read their story and be encouraged to stand.

What is bravery? "Be Brave" is a cool catch phrase now. It can be found on countless shirts, pictures, or any type of home decor item. But being brave is so much more than a motto.

I am thankful for the forefathers who had a vision for a new land where they could worship God in freedom. Many sacrificed their lives so this great nation could be our home.

We are still reaping benefits from those brave men and women today. Our blessings are so numerous we can not name them all. I do not want to be blinded by blessing to the point that I forget the sacrifice of others before me.

I also want to be ready to make my own stand in the face of opposition if it is required. One dictionary had this definition for "Brave: Ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage." I want to live a life patterned after these words. Today my prayer is for true bravery in Christ.

So during this week of Thanksgiving we will laugh and be thankful with family and friends! I want to remember others are watching me. I do not want just a brave face, but my desire is for a brave heart.

I hope my jumbled thoughts made sense to you. All of this has been percolating in my brain. Maybe my awesome editor, my Dad, will make this post somewhat coherent.

Until next weekend, Happy Thanksgiving!

A Flying Frog!

We left Douglas, Georgia Tuesday night after church and headed toward Vonore, Tennessee. I expected it would be late by the time we were ready to leave but we actually pulled out of the church parking lot a few minutes before 10:00 PM.

There was not much traffic and the weather was nice at first so it was a good night to drive. I did not know if I could drive all night but I really wanted to at least get north of Atlanta. About 40 minutes into the trip I realized we had a stowaway on board.

The little frog must have been sitting on the bumper or something. He had no idea that his new climbing toy had wheels until it was much too late. The first time I knew anything about him was when he crawled into my view on the windshield.

We were going west on local roads and traveling from 40-55 MPH. His little throat would pulsate rapidly like he was scared but he seemed to be doing fine. He pretty much moved around the windshield without much problem at all.

When we turned north on I-75 and increased our speed to around 70 MPH he hunkered down and held on. That was the smart thing to do. But alas the little froggy was not near as smart as he looked. Evidently the bugs looked better a few inches from him. He took a step or two and in a flash, he was flying! Bye little frog! Your take off was spectacular. I hope your landing was fantastic too.

Our first stop was in Cordele, Georgia at Pilot for a little diesel. I love cheap fuel!

We did hit rain just north of Macon and drove in it until well north of Atlanta. That was not much fun but we made it fine. We pulled into East Tennessee Luxury Coach at 5:30 AM after driving 431 miles. It was a good night.

We pulled nose in over on the edge of the parking lot and we were in bed by 7:00 AM.

We left for Oliver Springs, Tennessee at 4:00 PM and arrived at the funeral home a few minutes after 5:00. As I mentioned yesterday, God blessed and helped Sis. Mary's husband, family and friends in a special way. After the service we visited for quite a while and then adjourned the meeting until we could reconvene at Shoney's in Oak Ridge.

Bro. Chris

My dear friend!

Thursday, Jeff here at East Tennessee Coach was doing a little work on the bus and I spent most of the day with Bro. Joel and his family. Sis. Mary's burial was Thursday afternoon in a pretty mountain spot west of Rockwood. It was a hard day on everyone but God helped again.

By the time I arrived back at the BoggsMobile Thursday night, the bus was parked in place, plugged in and Kelly Jo had a wonderful meal prepared. It was a great ending to a great day.

Today is more bus stuff and some practice before we go south again to Adairsville, Georgia. We are singing for some long time friends on Saturday night and then singing and preaching for them on Sunday morning. We would love to have you join us. The church is located at

102C
Public Square
Adairsville, Georgia

The singing starts Saturday night at 6:00 PM. I know that Pastor Tony St. Cyr and his church would love to have you in service and I know that we would love it.

God bless and thanks for reading.

Sis. Mary Isham

The funeral service for Sis. Mary Isham Wednesday evening was beautiful and sweet. That was very fitting and proper for a beautiful, sweet and Godly lady. God blessed her family and friends, especially her husband Joel. Bro. Joel had written a poem about his dear wife and God touched him AND all of us as he read it. Praise God for it!

The nature of our work and the path we travel all over the country makes it impossible for us to attend most of the funerals we would love to attend. That is hard to take some times.

However, I am so glad when it does work for us to be there during times like this. It is a blessing to gather with family and friends. God often provides rest and comfort in the love and embrace of loving people. We love being a part of that, both giving and receiving comfort.

I have been reminded once more that the ultimate comfort comes from God Himself. God gives us our hope and our comfort when He reminds us of the resurrection that is to come.

I Thessalonians 4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

That is our comfort, friends! Christ arose and our loved ones that die in the faith will rise up with Him and we will meet them in the air, never to depart again! Praise God!

Bro. Joel closed the funeral last by playing a recording of a song that Sis. Mary wrote and recorded on her iPad before she knew she was sick. He thought it a little strange when she wrote it but now understands the providence of God.

Final Destination
Verse:Now this world is full of troublSo much worry so much pain But one day we'll see our savior And He will take our pain away.
Chorus:For there's a final destination When we reach our final home Where the angels are rejoicing Where we'll sing a brand new song
Verse:Now if you haven't gotten ready Don't wait too late to pray For the Lord is getting ready He's gonna take his bride away.
Verse:
Now this world where I am living
This is not my final home
I'm just waiting for my Jesus
Soon He will take me to my home!
Sis. Mary Isham

That is exactly what happened. Sis. Mary went home. Very sad for her husband, her family, her friends and for her church. But Oh what a great day for Mary!

Thanks for reading.
