While Plains - Revival In Pictures

The sun actually came out from behind the clouds Wednesday for a few hours and that is a definite change from the last few days. As I begin to type this Wednesday afternoon it is still shining and it is nearly 80 degrees. By 7:00 AM it is forecast to be 28 degrees here with a 90% chance of freezing rain and wintry mix combined with wind at 15 mph. 

We are very seriously considering moving the bus into the parking lot and hooking up the Green Machine so we are prepared to get out of Dodge. It is supposed to be un the upper 50's after church with about a 65% chance of rain.

By the time I finish writing this and post it Thursday morning the decision will be made and I will inform you what we did. It is supposed to be 37 for a high here tomorrow and 22 for a low over night going into Thursday. I know that is not bad compared to the temperatures at home and many other places but that is one reason why God gave us wheels under our home.

While the sun was showing its face I slipped out and snapped a few pictures of the church and BoggsMobile.

Yep, I let the weather guessers convince me it is better to leave tonight after church rather than stay in the freezer tonight and tomorrow. It is going to get cold where we are going but not as cold as here and not until up in the day Thursday. At 4:00 PM Wednesday afternoon Kelly Jo backed the bus out of the parking spot and put in in place to hook up the car. We can pull straight out onto the road from there.

This really is a beautiful place and it is situated in beautiful country. I know that it is probably hot and humid beyond words in the summer but it sure is nice and pretty this time of year. We really enjoy coming here, parking here and having church with all of these fine folks.

They have always been so kind to us and they love to have church. it is no chore at all to get the regulars to attend church and they will stay right with us no matter how long we sing and preach. That is rare these days and it is a great blessing.

We have certainly enjoyed the revival and I hope that you enjoy the Revival In Pictures.

Preaching the Gospel Message to The Lost

Three weeks ago I wrote a post about My View of Evangelism and I followed it up two weeks ago with the first of three deliberate objectives we try to accomplish in every revival, Encouraging the Local Pastor. Last week I wrote a post about the second deliberate objective we try to accomplish, Encouraging the Local Church. Today I want to discuss the third thing we purpose to do in every revival, every camp meeting and every church where we are privileged to minister.

The first is 

1. In every revival we purpose to encourage the local Pastor.

The second is

2. In every revival we purpose to encourage the local church.

The third is

3. In every revival we purpose to give the Gospel message to the lost.

As I mentioned in an earlier post these three things that we purpose to do in every revival do not always happen in a particular order but when we leave a revival we sincerely want to see them accomplished. I earnestly desire to be an encouragement to the local Pastor AND to the local church. I want to leave them blessed in their walk with the Lord and strengthened by the Word of God.

As much as those two objectives are set firmly in our goals, there is also an abiding thirst within us to see men and women hear the Gospel, come to the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of their sins and be born again into the kingdom and family of God. We are passionate about winning people to Christ.

Millions are bound by sin and satan. The chains of sin have fastened them tight and they can not break free no matter how hard they try. The fun of sin is long gone and the pain of sin has taken its place. There is no earthly remedy for sin.

But I know the cure for sin. I know how the brokenhearted can be healed. I know how the captives can find deliverance. I know who can give sight to the spiritually blind and will set at liberty them that are bruised. I know the remedy for sin.

His name is Jesus! His name is Jesus! Jesus came to earth to seek and to save that which was lost! 

I Timothy 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Christ has the power to set men free. He offers deliverance, forgiveness and healing. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I have the wonderful privilege to proclaim that message from pulpits across America and other parts of the world hundreds of times each and every year. I am blessed to stand every night and proclaim with the authority of God's Word that God is longsuffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The Gospel, the good news, must be told far and wide as often as necessary until all have heard. I intend to deliberately tell that message in every revival, camp meeting, tent revival and every church where we are called upon to minister.

I have  in over 30 years of preaching watched many hundreds of people walk the opposite direction when I have given the Gospel message. Some have outright rejected the message and others have chosen to wait for a convenient time. It is disappointing to see that happen but I will do my best to give the message and leave the results up to God.

I have seen many other folks turn and repent and watched God totally and radically change their lives in response to the Gospel message. Just this week I heard of a young lady that prayed for salvation in a revival last year. Her life was in quite a mess and some may have doubted if she was even serious. She is saved today. Her husband is saved today and many from their families are saved today! Praise God! I think I will preach on! 

I desperately desire to preach the Gospel message to the lost. That is what I feel this evangelist is called to do!

Middle Age at 48?

I posted this picture in yesterday's post about our weekend at White Plains Holiness Assembly. This is Sis. Graham with me in the picture below.

Sis. Graham and her husband started this church many, many, many years ago. Bro. Graham was still pastoring the first time we were here but he passed away several years ago. He was in his mid nineties when he died.

I always enjoy visiting with Sis. Graham while we are here. I love to listen to older saints and try my best to glean all the good information I can. I have loved that since I was a boy listening to my Dad talk with my Grandpa Isaacs who was born in 1902. Since we lived closer to my Dad's parents I was also blessed to visit with them and hear the stories they had to tell from decades of living. 

While we were visiting Sunday Sis. Graham told me she turned 96 years old this past December. 96 years old! Can you imagine all of the things she has seen and experienced since 1918? In those 96 years of life knowledge in the world has increased at an amazing and mind boggling rate.

I realized that at 96 she is almost exactly twice my age since I turned 48 in January. I often say that I am probably way passed middle age because I am not likely to live to be 96. I can not imagine living 20 more years most of the time much less 48 more years.

Sis. Graham said that somebody said to her recently that they did not think they wanted to live to be 96. She replied, "Well, I didn't ask for it, God just gave it to me!" What a great sense of humor.

What will the world look like in 2063? I can not even imagine God tarrying that long. In fact, I am looking for Him every day. IF time lasts and IF I live 48 more years, I hope I am able to travel and preach revivals because I am sure the world will still desperately need to hear the Word of the Lord.

In 2063 the BoggsMobile will be 68 years old and will have 969,680 miles on it at the rate I am going. That is not unreasonable for a bus. I think the BoggsMobile has a better chance of making it 48 more years than I do!
