One Last Visit to Humberto's

Wednesday for lunch we had one more visit to Humberto's. We made the burrito run and met at the parsonage for a great lunch and hilarious fellowship.

We love Pastor Noah, Sis. Carla, their three boys and all of the Desert Cove Church. We have had a wonderful time with our friends here in El Mirage.

Some of you have recognized the Martinez family from when we have preached for them in Paducah, Kentucky. You are very observant.

Bro. Noah became pastor here in May and they are loving it. Bro. Noah was raised in this area and attended this church when he was a teenager.

This move is a homecoming of sorts for him. The Desert Cove church is blessed to have this great family. I pray God blesses them with many years of fruitful ministry.

We have one more service tonight and then we fly out in the morning. Kelly Jo has been packing today to minimize the work tonight since we need to leave for the airport before 6:30 AM.

We should be in Dallas before noon and back to the BoggsMobile by 1:30. We would like to drive about 200 miles tomorrow evening but we will see how we feel then.

May God bless you tomorrow with a thankful heart as you gather with your families. We are thankful for all that God has been in our lives and the many friends that we enjoy.

God bless you all.

Enjoying Arizona

We are having a terrific week. As I type this we are headed to church for Tuesday night. Each service of the revival has been really good.

The scenery here is beautiful. Mom and I took a stroll through the neighborhood today. It is a peaceful place to stay.

As Dad says, "we are eating our way through another revival." Every bite has been outstanding!!!

I have to go for now.

Travel Day - Gainesville, Texas to El Mirage, Arizona

\

We had a great travel day today. We left the BoggsMobile about 8:30 and our flight left about noon. The flight from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Phoenix was very good. It was completely full so I am glad we booked well in advance.

They usually board us first and take us off last because of Odie. It was no problem being last today because we had no connecting flights. Straight thru flights are cool!

Pastor Noah Martinez picked us up at the airport and drove us to the church. They were having a birthday party for Sis. Martinez so we were able to see nearly everybody and eat, of course!

It is great to be back at Desert Cove with our dear friends. We have been coming here for ten years last month and we love it.

We will only be here five services but we are expecting God to help and bless His people and save some folks too.

Hope you have a great Sunday!

R. I. P. Hostess

Today is a sad day in our family. It is a sad day in America. Hostess is shutting its doors. The Twinkie is going over the rainbow to see Dorothy and Toto.

We will all miss the great food made by Hostess. Some of the labor force went out on strike and the Hostess company which is already in bankruptcy is closing. Over 18000 people are losing their jobs due to the company closing. it is a sad day indeed for them.

Mom and I made a big Walmart trip tonight for supplies. While there I decided to pick up a few of our favorite Hostess foods.

The Hostess shelves were already pretty empty. The boxes of Twinkies were already gone. I did find the individual packs. At least I will be able to taste one last Twinkie.

Thinking of Twinkies brings back a funny family memory. We were traveling one day when I was about 11 years old.

We stopped in Kentucky at a familiar gas station for fuel and snacks. When we stopped I was asleep in our 1978 Monte Carlo. It just happened to be customer appreciation day and they were having a big celebration and giving away food.

I woke up while my parents were out of the car. I remember sitting up in a daze trying to figure out where in the world I was. I could not see my parents, but they could see me the whole time.

While I was still half asleep a person in a GIANT Twinkie costume saw me. The giant Twinkie decided I was a customer that needed to be appreciated and headed my way with a Twinkie.

Keep in mind that mom and dad are watching the whole thing!

This Giant Twinkie came over to my car and tried to open the door. I am in the middle of waking up and a Giant Twinkie trying to get me! You talk about a bad dream! Let's just say it scared me almost to death. When Dad and Mom returned I was still pretty shaken. I was thankful my parents always lock their doors.

Mom and Dad were about to die laughing when they came back to the car. They still laugh about the day I was almost almost eaten by a Giant Twinkie.

I am sure my kids will one day hear the story from my family. But it so sad they may never get to taste the sweetness of a Twinkie.

Hope this gives you something to laugh about today.

Dad said maybe somebody will buy the brand and the Twinkie will survive. Let's hope so.
