Travel Day - El Mirage, Arizona - Waynesville, Ohio

After church Friday night Pastor Jimmy Munoz drove us back to the Airport in Phoenix so we could fly home. We took the Red-Eye flight (When I looked in the mirror after arriving in Atlanta at 6:00 Eastern and 4:00 Mountain I understand whey they call it the Red-Eye) from Phoenix to Atlanta and then on to Dayton, Ohio by around 10:00. We actually like the overnight flights most of the time and this one was very smooth.

We were very glad to arrive at the BoggsMobile! We have been gone four weeks. That is the longest we have been away from our home on wheels since we moved in. My bed, chair and familiar space were calling my name. We had a wonderful trip but it is good to be back. My mother, sister and both my brothers were here when we arrived but Dad was delivering Thanksgiving baskets. I'm sure I will see him tomorrow.

I didn't get to rest right away because the battery in The General was dead when my brother Tommy tried to start it. He was on his way to pick us up in Dayton but had to change plans on the run. After we dropped KJ, Odie and the luggage at the bus we went to Tommy's  house and cranked The General with the help of jumper cables. My brother Steve just "happened" to have a brand new battery that was the exact size and post configuration as the old one. Isn't that awesome?

So I slept for a few hours then Kelly Jo and I went late to Frisch's (Sorry no pictures) and now we are ready to crash again. We are supposed to start revival Sunday night (technically that's tonight) for Bro. Randy Brown in Sharonville, Ohio and I may sleep until it's time to go there.

Heavy Duty Seat Belt Extension

When we fly I have to ask for a seat best extension. One of the reasons I fly in a suit and tie is that I am treated much better by the airline employees and TSA than I would be in jeans and a pull over, especially considering my size. I am always treated with the utmost respect by the flight personnel.  But last Saturday they slipped in an insult under the radar... Or should I say under the seat belt??

Rated for 3000 lbs! Wow! I know I'm big but do I really look that big? "Hey we got a huge one coming your way. Better break out the heavy duty extensions! You think the 1000 lbs one will hold him? No, you better find the 3000 lbs extension. I think its in the back of the cabinet."   Lol

I know this must be a photoshopped picture but it is absolutely hilarious. I want to go on record and say that I love Chinese food!

Taxes and the Price of Gas

I took this picture of a gasoline pump in Mississippi.

Now, I will be the first to say that the price of oil is too high. Obviously if oil was alot cheaper then gas would be alot cheaper too since the price of oil accounts for 44% of the price.

But here's what gets me.. Taxes (at least in Mississippi and probably every where else account for 30% of the price of each gallon. Think about that for a moment. The government takes 30% of the price of every fill up. That's about $1 a gallon in Ohio right now. 

When gas prices go up the liberals in government and their partners in the press scream about big oil making  too money. They say,"Big oil is oppressing the little people that can't afford it." But big oil is taking all the risk, drilling all the wells, shipping all the product, paying all the employees. For all of that they get a 44% share of the end product.

Government hinders and taxes drilling, transporting, refining and selling the oil every step of the way. Government restricts drilling, regulates everything and reduces every ounce of profit they can. Government does nothing to drill for oil, refine oil or transport the oil or the finish product. Government does not build gas stations, install pumps or take any risk in the marketing, buying or selling the gasoline.

Yet they take 30% of the price of every gallon of gas that is sold? Tell me, who is making an ungodly profit? The oil companies, refineries, gas stations and clerks behind the counters are working hard for their money. It's the government that is getting an insanely huge profit and doing nothing for it. I say do away with that 30% and America can roll on and the economy can flourish.

To fill up the General it is always $60 and usually $75-80.  The BoggsMobile fill up is between $450-650. That means the government gets $20-24 every time I fill up the General and $135-195 every time I fill up the BoggsMobile. (Actually the taxes on diesel are usually even higher still.)

Can you imagine how much money Americans would have left to spend on things we really need if government would quit trying to punish business for earning a profit and stop confiscating all of our profit?

Desert Cove Assembly - El Mirage, Arizona

We are back at Desert Cove Assembly for another revival and we are having a blast. We love these folks so good.  They know how to have church, how to have fun, how to treat people and they know how to feed a fat boy! With my strong passion for Mexican food this is a perfect place for me! You can see some pictures from Humberto's at the bottom of the post.

We are eating our way through another revival AND having good fellowship and good services too. I told you yesterday that Sunday services were good and Monday night was good as well. I wish the preaching was better but I have no one to blame for that but myself. I am working hard to correct  that situation...

We not only enjoy being at Desert Cove but we enjoy being in the valley of the sun. We love the Phoenix area. This week the temperature is supposed to be in the 70's during the day and around 50 at night. Since December and January will be spent mostly in Ohio, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas we are really savoring the nice weather. It will probably be a while before we are this warm again.

Kelly Jo and Odie enjoy the malls and stores in this area even when they are not buying. It is a really pleasant place to shop although I don't have much experience in that area. Although the Phoenix area is huge and the traffic can be a bear, it is pretty easy to get around. Bro. Jorge Stevens has provided his truck for us to use this week so the girls won't have to walk to the mall! lol

Desert Cove has a house a few miles from the church that we are staying in this week. We miss the BoggsMobile so bad so it is nice to have a private place and some room to stretch out. We have had nice accommodations on this trip in every place but having your own place is best. Changing beds is hard on me and I have been reminded why I spend the money to take my bed with me. We pray that every home is blessed for opening their doors to us. It is a big job to keep me especially if they have to feed me!
