The Tent Going Up In Colorado Springs

The first night of tent revival at Souls Harbor Church in Colorado Springs went off without a hitch. Praise God for His help and grace. I was nervous about the first service, as usual, but God visited us as He always does. I love tent revival!

It was super great to have first time visitors responding in the altar seeking God and asking for prayer. That is what tent revival is all about for me. I am super excited to see what God is going to do the next few nights.

Today I am posting pictures from the tent set up and a time lapse video as well. The video was posted to the church You Tube site and hopefully it is embedded below. I think it is really, really neat.

The set up went well with plenty of help from the church folks. We try to be as prepared as we can be, but the ease of set up all depends on the help that shows up. The people came out in force and in a little bit of time, the tent was standing in the air.

I love it when a plan comes together!

I hope you enjoy the video and the pictures. Thank you for stopping by today.

Vintage View Vednesday - Durango Silverton Railroad

When we were in Oklahoma a few weeks ago I heard that Bro. Joe Dodson had been rushed to the hospital and was not expected to live. We were only a few blocks from the hospital so I swung by to see him on the way out of town.

He as very low, but he knew me when his daughters woke him up. I had a good visit with him, shared a few memories and watched his face light up with laughter. We also had a sweet conversation with the Lord and I said goodbye.

Bro. Joe went home yesterday morning. He was a good man, great preacher and a wonderful friend to me. He took up for me when I needed it and he loved to help me preach. I loved him dearly and will miss him. We are praying for his precious family. They are very dear to us as well.

Hold a place for me, Bro. Joe, I am on my way.

Secondly, thank you to all of you that sent greetings to Kelly Jo for her birthday. She loved it all.

Vintage View Vednesday

Since we are in Colorado Springs, Colorado at Souls Harbor I am posting a few pictures from part of our first brief visit to the church and of our adventures afterward.

We only took a few pictures while at church in June 2010.

We did take a bunch more pictures in the days following. Read on for those.

I had wanted to ride the Durango Silverton Railroad for a long time and that is exactly what we did. It was awesome and even better than we imagined it would be. Odie was saying the other day that we ought to go back. It is not possible this time, but maybe in the future. It sure would be nice!

I hope you enjoy these great pictures and a little bit of the description of the ride.
