A Summary of Our Week

Most of this week revolved around the house, Bro. Shobanke and church with family, food, fellowship and fun thrown in for good measure. I will try to hit the highlights and a few pictures along the way.

The plumber passed his final inspection last week. He came Tuesday and knocked out a few remaining items including sending a young man up on the roof to remove the caps from the vent pipes. The caps were there for a pressure test. Scott Hines Plumbing

They put van on the other side of the house and pulled him up the roof.

Bro. Jayme Carter worked a long day with me Tuesday punching out a bunch of items that needed to be completed. I could not have finished without him, Dad and Kelly Jo!

The day included a trip to Acapulco to drink some salsa of course.

Tuesday evening Kelly Jo's parents and some of the rest of the family came to visit. It was really good to see them.

My brother Steve drove his tractor to the Lazy OD Ranch and Bro. Shobanke was ready to drive!

I snapped a picture of part of the crew at Golden Corral.

Wednesday included more work on the house. Dad helped me so much. By the end of the day I was pretty sure we were ready for the final inspection.

We went next door for church at Dodds. Bro. Shobanke preached great and we really enjoyed the altar service. It was service with him this visit so it was a little bittersweet.

I want to take a moment to thank Pastor Kelly Rogers and the Dodds Church for always welcoming us with open arms. They are so good to us and they have embraced Bro. Shobanke too. We are looking forward to being back with them for Homecoming on August 19.

I was up early for the inspection Thursday. It was the first time this inspector had been to the house. He asked a lot of questions and checked pretty carefully. Ultimately I failed the final inspection.😞😢 There were two areas that the inspector wanted receptacles to be GFCI and they were not.

It took less than 10 minutes to change them to GFCI and now I await his return today. The one day delay did cause me to change our plans for travel today, but God knows what is best. None of this surprises him.

That was about all of the work completed on the house Thursday but we kept busy running all day. Kelly Jo worked on getting Bro. Shobanke ready to fly home and after one final meal together we took him to the airport in Dayton.

Man, I hate to see him go. His plane left Atlanta about 11:00 last night and he should arrive in Lagos about 10:30 to 11:00 this morning our time.

Our Pastor, Bro. Bennie Sutherland, had ask me to preach Thursday night so after the airport we made our way to Dryden Rd. I think the service was outstanding. I know that we loved being home.

That brings us to Friday morning. It is time to go to the house and pace back and forth a little.

Thank you for reading.
