Odie Is One Week Post Surgery

 Hey Friends,

One week ago today,  I had surgery. It seems like it was only yesterday, yet it feels like a long time ago.

As I lay here typing this post on Monday night, it is hard to believe that one week ago, I was prepping for surgery. Now, I am well on my way to recovery. Thank the Lord for standing by me!

I had my one-week post-op visit at the doctor's office yesterday. We saw one of the Nurse Practitioners in the office. She removed the bandage that had been covering my incision. She told me everything is healing nicely. I have to continue taking it easy for a while.

I have another follow-up at the end of December with the other surgeon who was involved in my surgery. We did not discuss any of the details of my surgery with the NP yesterday. From what we have read in the MyChart app, everything seems OK.

Thank you again for all of your continued prayers and concern! It means more to me than I can even express! The Lord has helped me so much! I am so grateful! We still have several more weeks before I'm completely recovered, but I am Glad to be this far along in my recovery journey!

Mom has been a fantastic nurse! She is by my side anytime I call her! I am thankful for the other family and friends who have helped us.  The food, gifts, visits, and love are so appreciated!

My cousin Lisa came to sit with me for a little while on Sunday. My mom had to go to church for some Christmas practice. On Sunday afternoon, my cousins Courtney and Kayla surprised me by visiting. Apparently, they had planned with Mom to visit me! It was great to spend a couple of hours with them!

In closing, please continue praying for our baby, Beckham! He is still in Cincinnati Children's. They are doing more testing on him today, trying to figure out what triggers his issues!

We hate to see our precious baby suffer! He is still a cutie! My Uncle Tommy FaceTimed me the other day so I could see Beckham. He smiled at me a few times, and it made my heart melt.

See you tomorrow!

Post Op Day 3 Update

 Hey Friends,

It is Odie, hopping on here for a quick update. Yesterday was my third day after surgery. I have heard it can be a hard day.  People were not lying; I had a rough day.

I am glad day 3 is history. Hopefully, it can get better from here. Today is a new day! Hopefully, I will make more progress in recovery.

Thank you for the continued prayers! We appreciate all the calls or texts checking up on us. I apologize if we have not been able to get back to all of you.

My aunt Theresa supplied us with food yesterday. It was all so good. I am slowly getting my appetite back.

In the evening, my grandparents brought a pumpkin pie! Mamaw's pumpkin pies are the best! That will help me feel better, I am sure.

I also had sweet friends send  us surprises yesterday. Thank you all very much!

My Oklahoma Family, the Cummins Family spoiled us.

Bro. Bruce and Sis. Priscilla Mayhan sent a DoorDash gift card. We will certainly use that!

Y'all gave me something to smile about yesterday! May God bless you for your kindness!

As I write this post, I am ready to say good night to day three. I am looking forward to day four being better!

Thanks for reading!

Good Changes

 Hey Friends,

I hope you are having a fabulous Friday. Thank you for spending a moment of your day with us!

How do you usually read our blog posts? Several people get notifications of a post in their email. Others come HERE straight to the website to read the daily post.

If you are a website reader, have you noticed the changes? This has been a week of updates. We changed the overall look of the website, earlier in the week.

Then, right HEREwe added the online store for our music.

There is another new tab at the top of the page, and a link at the side of the page, HERE where you can find the digital artwork for The Next Step album.

One last update to share with you: I added some new photos for use in service advertisements.

Thank you for being one of our readers! We appreciate several of you who let us know you are faithful readers! I do my best always to have something ready to post.

It is almost the birthday of our blog. Dad created the blog so that we could update family and friends on our second trip to Nigeria in November 2009. Over the years it became a daily thing for Dad to post. I have tried my best to carry it on.

See you tomorrow!
