A Word For Wednesday Distributing Joy On Purpose - I want to be a brother like that!

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

We have been incredibly blessed by others who were going through situations that seemed much more difficult than our own. Reasons for happiness may have been in short supply for them but they were distributing JOY to others on purpose. That is amazing. I want to be a brother like that!

Near the end of this episode, I relate a story from the C. Roy Angel book, Baskets of Silver. I think you will enjoy it.

A Word For Wednesday, Try A Little Kindness

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

The people around us could use a little more kindness and we as Christians should be leading the charge. Kindness can become contagious but so can rudeness, anger and animosity. What will we choose to spread to those we encounter this week. The people in our path could probably use a good dose of kindness.

I related a story today and this is the source: Hilla Benzaken, “How a Hidden Note Spread Ripples of Kindness,”

Thank you for stopping in today.

Life Gets Real For A Seven Year Old Boy 50 Years Ago Yesterday

It is hard to remember when in life I became aware of certain aspects of the world around me. I am not sure what I knew about tornados early in life but I know exactly the day I learned about their destructive force and that it was a force that was to be respected and even feared.

That day was exactly 50 years ago yesterday, Wednesday, April 3, 1974.

YouTube Video

It was dark in the afternoon at our house in Waynesville, Ohio. It was frightening. However. it was much worse in several states and perhaps worst of all less than 15 miles away from us as a storm cell with an F5 tornado decimated Xenia, Ohio.

The tornado was part of the largest supercell known at that time and the most destructive single day of tornado outbreaks for several years after that. It was a horrific day.

When the storm was gone from Xenia 32 residents were killed, over 1000 were injured and hundreds of houses were completely destroyed. Schools were hit directly and the downtown area was devastated. The tributes I have read and watched this week about those who died have touched me deeply. May God bless their families.

If I had not realized the power of the weather by age seven, I knew it that day and the days following. 15 miles is close enough to shake people up and I remember the emotional impact.

Kids at school had family there or they went to church or shopped or ate in Xenia. The teachers talked about the storm and all of that brought the possibility of trouble much closer than it seemed before.

Of course, there was no internet and the pictures and news spread much slower then but the Xenia tornado was the main topic of conversation for days and weeks.

Near the 25th anniversary of the Xenia tornado, we visited a temporary museum display with hundreds of pictures, videos, newspaper articles and archived news broadcasts. It was moving and nearly overwhelming. One of the most moving parts of the museum was the personal accounts of survivors.

I have always been glad that we took the time to visit that display at the 25 year mark. I had never seen or heard much of what we saw and heard that day in 1999.

I was kind of taken back Tuesday when I realized that Wednesday was the 50th anniversary of the Xenia tornado. Yes, it does seem like a very long time since I was seven but the last 25 years have passed in a moment or two.

Several states, dozens of towns and cities and thousands of people were directly affected by the storms that day, but the knowledge that emerged from the intensive research that followed the tornados has saved many thousands of lives since that day. It really is an amazing story.

Maybe there really is a silver lining in the dark clouds of life.

Thank you for reading today.

A Word For Wednesday - Watching God Put Things Together

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I have quite a story to tell you today about watching God put things together in lives that would not have been done otherwise.

This is a story over sixteen years in the process and is still unfolding in the life of a young man we became acquainted with late last year. I am excited to behold what God is doing and will do in the days ahead.

I wonder what God is doing in our lives right now that we know nothing about. Can you give God some time and space to work? He is worth waiting on, friend.

Thank you for watching today.

A Word For Wednesday, There Is No God Like Our God!

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I love this verse. It has spoken deep into my heart the last month or more.

II Samuel 7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

Hallelujah! Our God is great. There is no God like our God. There is no God beside our God. According to everything we have heard with our ears, there is no God like our God!

A Word For Wednesday-The Miraculous Process of Healing

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

There are numerous and varied processes by which the body fights disease, repels invaders and heals itself. Old and sick cells are replaced while the body is mending skin, bones, organs and every part of the body.

Modern scientists and great researchers are still seeking to understand how hormones and enzymes are produced by our bodies to effectively fight for the health of own bodies.

This is no accident of evolution. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Therefore, I say healing is a natural process in the body instigated by supernatural means. It is miraculous!

Thank you for joining us today.

A Word For Wednesday, Peaches And Frost

Good Morning!Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Peaches do not need frost to grow but sometimes men do! There are times in life when a good frost will help men to mature and grow. A frost may kill a peach harvest physically but that same frost may prosper a man spiritually.

Hardships thrust on us by the world and the devil to kill us can speak life into us instead by the grace, power snd providence of God.

Thank you for joining us today. It is always good to have you.

A Word For Wednesday - Trusting Our Lord to Lead - He Maketh No Mistake

Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I am talking about John the Baptist today and the crisis of faith he experienced briefly in prison. Christ had a message tailor made for John and John received it.

Have you ever wondered what God was doing while you were in trouble? We must learn to trust our Lord to lead us even when we do not understand Him. God makes No mistakes!

Lord, We Want To Hear Your Voice

We had great therapy sessions on Monday including the final hour which was speech therapy. I have had quite a bit of congestion in my chest for about two weeks and we have not been able to sing and do the vocal exercises as much as we need to do.

Even though my voice was very weak on Sunday, when I began to warm up my vocals and do my breathing exercises early Monday morning, I noticed it was considerably better. The therapist asked if I would like to try to sing after completing the breathing exercises and I said yes.

She has a small keyboard there, so Kelly played the keyboard and we sang a little bit of Amazing Grace in a very low key warming my voice up a little more.

Then Kelly suggested an Isaacs song that Ben sings, If That's What It Takes. It has become one of our favorites and we have sung it in many revivals and have been blessed by it.

While singing If That's What It Takes Monday, I was overcome with emotion as my mind drifted back a few weeks. While I was in ICU we were trying to sing this song one evening. We were so overwhelmed that I ended up just speaking the words. However, the Spirit of the Lord brought so much comfort to us that day and that has been a high watermark in this whole experience.

We constantly try to be faithful to listen to the word of the Lord and he certainly does not have to give me a stroke to get my attention. However, through every test and trial, I want to be sensitive to the voice of the Lord. The enemy trials to kill but the Lord often speaks to us and works the bad for our good and in our favor.

Many of you have heard me say, that when trouble comes our prayer is often, “Lord how can I get out of this?” That is a reasonable prayer.

Maybe our prayer should be one word different from that prayer. Instead of "Lord how can I get out of this?” Maybe we should pray “Lord what can I get out of this?” Is there something we can learn from while we are here?

Let us pray together today, “Lord whatever it takes, we want to hear your voice,”

Thank you for reading today. The video and lyrics are below.

If That's What It Takes lyrics © Emi Blackwood Music Inc., Great Day At This Music, Beattyville Music, June Elephant Music

1st
This place that I'm in
Feels so unfair
This weight on my chest Seems more than I can bear
I can't see where this is gonna end
But I'll stay on my knees till then.

Chorus
If that's what it takes to break my will
To make me still enough to hear your voice
Then I'll trust in you Oh Lord
If that's what it takes
To realize without you I'm just going the wrong way
Living life in vain
Lord humble me a little more each day
If that's what it takes

2nd
This is not the path
I'd ever choose for me
But Lord you see the bigger picture
And the man that I can be
So Lord I'll give you all my fears
And I'll cry a few more tears

Chorus And
Final Chorus
If that's what it takes to give my all
And totally surrender to your plan
Though I may not understand
Lord give me strength to make it one more day
If that's what it takes
If that's what it takes

Friday Night Revival at 8:00 PM Eastern

Today is a reminder of our third and final night of revival from Nigeria on Friday night at 8 PM Eastern.

This is the last night of the Gospel Crusade was on a Saturday night in December. I preached to those in need of a miracle from God.  The response at the end of the preaching was tremendous

The people in Nigeria honor me and respect me way beyond what I could ever earn or expect. Bro. Shobanke has loved me greatly and he has passed that love on to his people.

They seem to listen close to every word and are immediately ready to come to the altar and believe God is going to give them their miracle. It really is a sight for us to behold.

I have never preached good enough in Nigeria to merit the response that they demonstrate, but I love preaching in that type of environment. wow! What a wonderful relationship and wonderful amazing services we have enjoyed since 2007.

Thank you for making plans to join us Friday night at 8 PM Eastern. It will be great to have you and to hear from you.

Thank you for reading today. May God bless you.

YouTube Revival Announcement

We have a Revival announcement today. Beginning Friday night and running a total of three Friday nights, we are going to post revival videos on our YouTube channel.

These are NOT current revival services but services from the Gospel Crusade in December at Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church in Abeokuta, Nigeria. Please take note of this. These services are from December.

This was the final revival for us in 2023. The crusade ran on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights outdoors at the church.

I had already edited these videos before Christmas hoping to post them at sometime in January. Now is the time.

The first night I am preaching to people who are hurting, the second night I am preaching directly to those who need to be saved and the third night I am preaching to those who need a miracle.

I am preaching with an interpreter and that will be included in the video. I hope that you enjoy the videos. We had an awesome time those three nights in Nigeria.

I think that you will see how much I love and enjoy preaching to the Nigerian people. They are sitting on the edge of their seats, pulling the preaching out of me and I love every moment of it.

I added some bloopers from Odie at the end of Friday's video. She was recording an introduction for me this week and we laughed so hard I thought I was going to pop the feeding tube out of my stomach. I posted the bloopers video this morning separately. Let us know what you think.

Thank you for joining us today and I hope you will join us Friday night at 8:00 Eastern/7:00 Central time.

Thank you.

A Word For Wednesday, A Well of Water-Testimony

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

A church and community needed water badly and now they have water! Praise God! I received a video of the well on Christmas Eve!

The church that needed water is Landmark Christ Mission and the Pastor is our dear friend, Pastor Stephen Kuye. By God's grace and the help of His people, we were able to take resources to drill a well on their property. They struck water at 100 meters down! They are so happy and my heart is overjoyed.

Now they have an abundant supply of water for their church and for the muslim community around their church in Ibadan, Nigeria. Hallelujah!

Thank you for joining us today.

A Word For Wednesday, A Christmas Journey

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I love to see the Christmas scenes portrayed by the children in our churches. The angels talking to Mary and Joseph, no room at the inn, the manger scene, the angels singing to the shepherds, the shepherds going to see the Christ child and many more.

These scenes made me thing of another Christmas scene. I was considering the 100 mile journey by Joseph and his wife great with child. God was drawing them to Bethlehem so they would be in the prophesied place for Christ to be born. What an amazing Christmas Journey!

Thank you for joining us today.

We have had a super great trip to Nigeria. It has been wonderful visiting friends, making new friends and preaching my heart out. We love these people so much and it is always a joy to be with them.

Today I am giving you an update from our second week in Abeokuta including a few pictures and about 40 seconds of preaching at the Gospel Crusade.

The short clip is from the second night of the Crusade. I recorded a few of the sermons in whole, but I have not had a chance yet to review them. IF you would like for me to post the videos in complete form let me know.

I hope you enjoy.

A Word For Wednesday The #1 Reason For Revival

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

There is one main reason we are spending our lives trying to be and instrument of revival across America and that is that souls might be saved!

Paul said of Jesus, This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. I Timothy 1:15

Christ came with one great aim and that is to save sinners. That is our one great aim in life!

In September, Milton was saved under the Blue and White Gospel Tent in Richton, Mississippi. Pastor Scott Morris baptized Bro. Milton recently and I have a video of it for you.

If you would like to argue the technique or formula for baptism, please move on! This is neither the time nor the place. This is how we do it, but today we are celebrating the salvation of an 80 year old man during revival! Wow! It is a beautiful thing!

I appreciate Bro. Milton and Pastor Scott Morris allowing me to post the video of the baptism. Sis. Felicia Cochran provided the video and I appreciate her permission to post it.

Thank you for stopping by.

A Word For Wednesday-Be Not Weary In Well Doing

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I have an encouragement for you today.
II Thessalonians 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

Be Not Weary In Well Doing! You are struggling to maintain. You are struggling to keep your head above water financially, emotionally and spiritually. You are fighting with everything within to be the person you need to be to thrive and survive.

It is very easy to give into despair, but Paul encourages us and I want to encourage you today, be not weary in well doing. Your reward is still ahead. When God settles the final accounts, we will hear Him say,
Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Hallelujah!!!

Thank you for watching today.
