The Weekend Dispatch 7/31/23

We have had another great weekend in Massachusetts. Wow! Praise God for His help and grace. Hallelujah!

Friday, I rested mostly during the day, but I did take time to go to lunch with the girls.

Saturday we all did as little as legally possible and Sunday we hit the ground running. We went to church about 6 miles from us in Rhode Island Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon we drove back to Boston. While we were there, we ate a meal at Polcari's one more time.

Then we went to Pastor Marcos Fabiano's Brazillian Church in Everett.

Odie was not able to go because of the stairs. This is a picture of only one set of stairs. There were two more smaller sets.

Odie is no longer able to crawl up steps and we are not able to pull her up or carry her. We sure missed having her with us, but that is the reality of our situation at present.

We absolutely loved being in the service though. The sanctuary was full and they responded wonderfully to the preaching. Three came to the altar for salvation and the Lord really moved while the church was praying for the sick. It was a super great night.

A young lady named Esther was having a birthday celebration before church.

We ate and visited with Pastor Marcos a couple of hours after church and then began the long drive back to the bus.

Some of the critical onramps were closed for maintenance late at night so we had to finagle our way through Boston traffic at midnight. That was a fun way to cap off a long day. We made it back to the BoggsMobile and Odie at about 1:00 AM

That wraps up the weekend. Thank you for joining us.

Happy Birthday Mamaw Martha 2023

Hey Friends,

This is Odie coming to you for another Saturday post. I hope you are doing well. We have been loving this tour of the northeast this time around! It is not over yet, and I am looking forward to the adventures ahead.

Can you believe we have reached the end of July? 2023 is zooming by, and it seems every day goes by in a blur. How in the world is it time for August already? Ready or not, August is knocking on our doors.

July has been a busy birthday month for many family members and friends. Every day or two, there has been another birthday or multiple birthdays to remember. I always try to call or text my family and friends. I like to celebrate their special day, even for a moment.

They are way too many birthdays for me to name them all here or post photos of those people. I will say Happy Birthday to the people celebrating in July. I hope you had a fantastic birthday and a blessed year ahead! We are thankful to have each of you as part of our lives!

Tomorrow is an extra special birthday in the Boggs family! This person deserves an extra shout-out today.

79 years ago, Bessie and Godfrey Isaacs welcomed their 16th child into the world. Martha Emma Isaacs was born on that very special day; she was the final girl in their family. One thing about it her birth had a significant impact on our lives!

Martha grew up to be a fine young lady and a beautiful woman. She is still beautiful today!

60 years ago, she caught the eye of Eugene Boggs. Soon they fell in love, married, and their family grew from there.

Today Mamaw, Martha Boggs, is the matriarch of our family. She is sweet, caring, loyal, and loving. We can not imagine life without her. Mamaw is always there to love on her family, pray for us and encourage us.

Happy Birthday, Mamaw! We love you to the moon and back! May this year be your best year to date! Thank you for being so wonderful!

Aunt Theresa recently sent the family this photo below of Mamaw and Papaw. I thought it was too good not to share in this birthday post. Theresa, thanks for the picture!

Many of you helped us pray earlier this year for Mamaw! Thank you so much for those prayers! Each and every one is very much appreciated. She has recovered exceptionally well from her fall. We thank God for helping her tremendously!

Please keep praying for both of my grandparents. I would love to see God heal them of several afflictions! I know nothing is too hard for our God, and He can give them new strength!

Thanks for stopping by to spend a portion of your time with me. See you next Saturday.

Revival In Pictures, Everett, Massachusetts

We have been preaching revivals for Pastor Orville Plummer at Bethel Revival Center in Everett, Massachusetts since 2016 and we love coming back as often as possible. Pastor Plummer and Sis. Jennifer and their folks have been so kind to us through the years and this year was no exception.

This storefront church is perfect for us and in a perfect setting. Every night there are new people wandering in that folks have invited and I love getting to preach to a varied crowd each night.

I told KJo and Odie just now that I think I would put up a neon sign on the building like Krispy Kreme and turn it on for the neighborhood during church.

Except my sign would say " Gospel Hot Now"!

Today is Revival In Pictures so we have a bunch of pictures that Odie snapped for the week. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

You may recognize this couple from last week's pictures. We met Paul and Tomi in Arundel, Maine. They live much closer to Boston, so they came two nights to revival. It was great to have them.

The church lot has enough room for about four cars strategically parked. The rest of the parking is on the street.

The street is always crowded.
