Foodie Friday 7/25/25

 Hey Friends,

I need to start today’s post with an apology! I know several of you read the blog early in the morning. Yesterday‘s post did not go up at 2 AM, which is usually my scheduled time for the new post each day.

My cousin Lisa text me yesterday to check on me. She was worried because there was no blog yesterday morning. I am so thankful that she did text me and tell me. I checked the post and accidentally scheduled it to go live this morning. Thankfully, I was able to correct my mistake!

Yesterday was a very special Throwback Thursday! I shared a YouTube video Dad posted two years ago this summer. Click here if you missed yesterday's post!

Foodie Friday

Now it is time for Friday's post. This is when I like to focus on some good food!

Wednesday morning, Lisa and I made last-minute plans to have lunch together. She had some extra time in her busy day and chose to spend it with me!

Somehow, her car found its way to a couple of our favorite spots! We ended up in Springboro. First, we visited our favorite Cassanos pizza!

I wish you could taste and smell Cassano's pizza through the pictures! It was amazing and hit the spot!

Before heading back to my house, the car found its way to Dairy Queen Drive thru!

This was the perfect way to conclude a great lunch with a very special person! The ice cream tasted wonderful. The fellowship was even sweeter and we were able to beat the heat on a hot July day!

Lisa, I love you! Thank you for always being there for us! You are amazing! I appreciate you spending some of your downtime with me!

Thank you for reading!  I hope you are able to stay cool on this beautiful Friday! I will see you all tomorrow!

Throwback Thursday, 7/24/25

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for stopping by to spend a moment of your Thursday with us! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

I appreciate all of you, but let me know you enjoyed Throwback Thursday 2 weeks ago! You can find that post by clicking here

Two years ago, we visited Kennebunkport, Maine. We absolutely loved this town. We had been there before but knew we had to return for another visit!

Saint Anne’s Chapel was one of our favorite spots that we ever visited as a family. This church is located near the Bush compound in Kennebunkport!

The beautiful chapel and the views surrounding it brought us much peace! We treasured our memories made on this particular day as a family. The day was a gift from God! I treasured it even more today! I truly do not think I will ever forget this special day!

As I reminisce, I am reminded of how blessed I am! I love that we were able to travel and experience so many wonderful things with Dad! I miss him so very much, and my heart aches and wants to be with him! But I hold these memories. I thank God for every special moment!

I will forever be grateful for all the memories we catalog on the blog and YouTube! On our last visit to Saint Ann's Chapel, we were able to sing two songs as a family and capture them on video. The post above has one of the songs. The second one is listed below.

Daily, I am reminded of God's great faithfulness toward me and my family. Thank you, Lord, for your tender mercies! He is truly our rock and provider. We would be lost without Him!

Thank you for reading!

Throwback Thursday 7/17/25

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for stopping by for a quick visit. I am always glad to have you here.

My Gran was looking for a recipe in her box, yesterday. Then she came across an old piece of paper.

It is the invitation we sent to family in 1998. We were celebrating my 13th birthday!

This was definitely a blast from the past. I never imagined seeing this invitation again! This brought back memories of this fun afternoon spent with our family!

Thank you for reading! See you next time!

Throwback Thursday, 7/10/25

 Hey Friends,

I am so glad that you chose to spend a moment of your day with us! Thanks for making my day a little brighter!

I am missing my Daddy today. 8 months ago today, his home changed to Heaven. I have been in a reminiscing mood the last couple of days!

One of our YouTube videos came up on my suggested videos a few days ago. I couldn't help but smile! This was a great day spent with my parents! We love St Anne’s Chapel in Maine! It was one of our favorite places to visit! I will forever cherish our time here.

I thought this was a good video to share for Throwback Thursday! I am beyond grateful that my hope is built on Jesus Christ! The waves and storm of life have rocked us this year, but Jesus has been steadfast!

2025 should have been the summer that we made our bi-annual summer trip to the Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont and New York. Next month we wiill visit Boston, Massachusetts area for a few days.  Sadly, we do not have time to make it to the other Northeast states this time around.

Thank you again for reading!

Amazed By God’s Creation

 Hey Friends,

I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday. Here are a couple of photos that I have loved this week.

The first one I captured was in my grandparents' backyard on July 1, 2021. To this day, it's one of my all-time favorite photos.

The second photo came from Bro.  Andrew Blevins. He took this picture while walking in our local cemetery this week. I am so glad that he thought of sharing it with me! We love it!

God's creation amazes me! There are no words that can truly describe the awesomeness of our God! I am blessed when we get to see the beauty of His creation, with our feeble human eyes!

Thank you for taking time to read today's post I will see you all tomorrow!

Goodbye Green Machine

 Hey Friends,

Take a moment to rewind to May 2012 by reading Dad’s old post here. He introduced you to our newest mode of transportation.

The Envy Green 2006 Scion XB became a beloved family member. My parents drove it countless miles, and it was towed behind the BoggsMobile for 8.5 years. It also rode thousands of miles in the tent trailer for many years.

We loved the car that we lovingly called The Green Machine. It was a blessing from God! We prayed for the right car, and God answered our prayers!

We loved the ability to load it down and haul a bunch of stuff. The little thing was so roomy. We got majorly spoiled. It was easy for me to get in and out of. The gas mileage was great!

Some people hated the green color. Believe it or not, we adored it. We could easily spot our car in a crowded parking lot!

By the end of 2020, the green machine was tired of road life! It was worn out and needed lots of TLC. We retired her to living at home.

The KJo Jeep joined our fleet of vehicles, and the Green Machine lived on. Dad used it locally and could not part with the beloved family member.

Bro. Whiffen in Florida loves Scion XBs, too. He always wanted The Green Machine, but it needs much work on many issues.

A few months ago, we told him he could get it now. He plans to restore it. I can't wait to see it fixed up!

Florida and Ohio are not neighbors, so getting it to him was a little difficult with his and our schedules.

Finally, we decided to have it transported to Florida. Now, he did not have to spend money, time and strength on a trip to Ohio to retrieve the car.

Mom found a company, and the price was reasonable. We scheduled the pickup for sometime this week.

On Monday morning, we found out the driver was on his way. Mom said he was a very nice young man. He worked diligently to load the car on his truck, which was not easy.

Here are some pics I took from my porch. Mom had him load it in the Dodds Church
parking lot.

The transport driver left Ohio Monday afternoon. By Wednesday morning the car was delivered safe and sound to its new home.

Thank God for a great vehicle! It served us well!

Thanks for reading!

Throwback Thursday 5/29/25

 Hey Friends,

I am glad you stopped by today. We are doing well. It has been a busy week.

For today’s post, I'm throwing back to May 2021, the day we bought my porch furniture.

This memory brings me joy! Dad wanted me to have nice porch furniture. It is extra special now.

I love sitting on my porch!  The weather has been so yucky this spring. Hopefully next week I can enjoy so sunshine on my glider.

See you tomorrow.

Throwback Thursday Memorial Day 2023

 Hey Friends,

I appreciate you stopping by for a visit today. Since I have been reminiscing this week, I thought it only fitting to share some throwback Memorial Day pictures today.

Two years ago, on Memorial Day, we celebrated my Papaw Eugene's 80th birthday and Mamaw and Papaw's 60th wedding anniversary.

The whole day was fantastic! Family came from near and far to join us for the celebration! The weather was perfect, and we were all glad to be together!

It is one of my happiest memories from recent years! I am so glad we could be home to be part of the celebration! I love looking back on these pictures!

Thank you for reading as I take a drive down memory lane. I am so thankful for the memories collected on this day!
