Oklahoma Travel Day

 Hey Friends,

I am popping in to say hello. Thank you for checking in today. We are now in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.

Yesterday, was a shorter travel day, as far as miles go. We took our time. It was a beautiful fall day. I'm grateful to God for getting us here safely.

Last night we visited with the Landress’ and Mayhans for a while. Then more of the Landress crew came to visit with us. It is wonderful to be with our wonderful friends again!

We plan to get lots more visiting time with friends while in the area. I will report more later.

See you tomorrow.

Beach Cottage Ho

 Hey Friends,

We left Richton, Mississippi, before 5 AM yesterday. It was time for us to get out of dodge before Hurricane Isaias arrived.

Mom was concerned about storm-related traffic. All in all, things were smooth. We were making excellent time until the Nashville area. That's where things went south.

We lost an hour in traffic for no apparent reason. Then we diverted around Nashville proper.

Things dragged on from there. With only 4 stops total, we made it home 14 hours later. I was so thankful to see the lights of home.

Thank God for protecting us! I'm grateful that He helped us get home safely!

Bro. Scott Morris reported to us yesterday afternoon. They got the tent down and packed away yesterday morning. That was an answered prayer!

Now it is time to hibernate. See you tomorrow.

Thursday‘s Travel Day

 Hey Friends,

We traveled to Alabama yesterday. Thank God we had a great travel day! I never want to forget to be thankful for a smooth travel day. We really do thank the Lord for protection and for going with us.

We left the Beach Cottage in the morning. By lunchtime, we were near Nashville. We stopped in Franklin, TN, for a couple of hours.

Our lunch at J Alexanders was scrumptious!

Our visit with family was even better! Aunt Lily, Sonya and Becky took time out of their busy day at home to meet us!

We greatly enjoyed catching up with them. It was good to get hugs, I  love any chance we can see them.

Then it was back to the road. We were hoping to make the whole trip yesterday. Once we lost an hour in traffic in the evening, we decided it was time to stop for the day. Today will be a much shorter travel day.

See you tomorrow.

Away We Go

 Hey Friends,

All is well! We are on the road to Mississippi. Yesterday was a full day of packaging and trip prep.

I forgot to get a post ready for today.
This morning, as I was getting in the car, I remembered my blunder.

Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you in advance! We are anticipating a great trip.

I will leave you with a couple of pics from lunch yesterday. It was good to spend a few hours with Mamaw and Papaw.

Bye for now.

Boggs Family Ministries Team Is On The Move

 Hey Friends,

KJo and Karen are traveling for ministry over the next several days. They are making up the BFM team this time. Today, they will fly to Boston.

I decided to stay home this time around. October, we will be on the move most of the month. I wanted to rest up a bit.

Mom took Aunt Karen with her on this current trip. They will be in Everett, Massachusetts, at Bethel Revival Center on Sunday. They are excited to see Pastor Orville Plummer and our friends in the Boston area.

Pastor John DiZazzo of Wichita, Kansas, is scheduled to preach both Sunday services at Bethel. Mom and Karen will minister in music and song.

Then they will also be visiting the David DiZazzo family in Vermont next week. On Wednesday, they will minister at Lowell Bible Church.

I am excited that they will be seeing our friends. These are two of our favorite places. I know the scenery, fellowship and weather will be beautiful.

Pray they have safe travels and a great week. Hopefully, they remember to take pictures!!! Mom and Karen tend to forget that we need pic.  We want to see their trip! Text Mom and remind her to take pictures on her phone! 😄

See you tomorrow.

Home Sweet Home

Hey Friends,

I left you hanging in yesterday’s post HERE, but I promised the rest of the story today.

On Tuesday, we flew from Jackson, Mississippi, to Atlanta, Georgia. We had a few hours to spend there before catching our next flight. We enjoy a longer layover.

It is nice not to be rushed. I have to be carried onto the plane in the tiny aisle chair, since I cannot walk. Therefore, I am the first one on the plane and the last one off. My layover times are often cut short because I need to board the plane first.

We were also keeping our eyes on possible bad weather, but we thought it was all going to be fine. We boarded the next flight to Cincinnati around 2:30 PM. My last restroom stop before getting on the plane was a few minutes after 2:00 PM. I have to pay attention to the clock and time everything just right.

Once everyone was on the plane and we were ready to go, bad weather in Ohio grounded us. For 2-plus hours, we sat on the plane unable to fly. Thankfully, we had good seats with plenty of legroom. The flight was completely full. All we could do was hurry up and wait.

At one point, I fell asleep for a while. When I awoke, we were sitting on the runway. I could not remember if we were still on the tarmac in Atlanta. I thought we might have flown all the way to Ohio while I was asleep, and we were waiting to pull into the gate.

I had to check my location on Google Maps to see in which state we were located. It was hilarious! I honestly did not know if I was coming or going. At least the nap was good!

I snapped a quick selfie with Mom during the whole memory-making flight! You just have to roll with the punches.

After 5 PM, we were finally cleared to take off. We were within a half an hour of having to cancel the flight by law. By the time that we took off, I had been on the plane for over three hours. Originally, we had been scheduled to land at 4:45 PM.

Then we had to fly the long way around to avoid bad weather. Needless to say, I was very ready to get off the plane once we landed in Cincinnati. Without hesitation my first stop was the restroom. People had to get out of my way because I was about to run over them with my wheelchair in my hurry.

It was good to be closer to home! And a funny turn of events our luggage took an earlier flight to Cincinnati. While we were in the air, I got a message, letting me know that my baggage had arrived in Cincinnati. Sure enough once we got to baggage it was there waiting on us.

Around 9 PM we rolled into the beach cottage. I was thankful to be home and closer to my bed. Now you can see why I cut yesterday's blog a little short.

On a sidenote, the weather did get really bad close to some of my family! I am thankful to the Lord for protecting them. I am also grateful that Mom and I were safe. I am thankful for His protecting power over us!

Diverting For Deidre

 Hey Friends,

Saturday, I told you we took a red-eye flight Friday night. What I did not share was our flight diversion. We had an Atlanta layover, as planned. Saturday’s final destination changed.

In Atlanta, we boarded a plane and headed to Jackson, Mississippi. Mom and I were able to surprise Deidre! The shock on her face was amazing when we came through the door.

She thought DoorDash was bringing dinner. She had no clue that she had personal Dashers for a couple of days. It was a sweet moment.

We visited them Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We were able to love on her and pray for her! I needed to see my Sissy!

God has helped her tremendously. Her faith is strong. We are believing with her for grace to endure and a complete miracle.

Last I heard, she was still awaiting test results to confirm the possible diagnosis. NOTHING IS TOO BIG FOR GOD. We are choosing to thank Him in advance for a miracle! Please pray with us for Deidre and Ben and the family!

So that brings me to yesterday. It was our day to go home. Bright and early we were headed to Atlanta. Then home after a good layover.... I think I will tell the rest of the story tomorrow.

 Hey Friends,

Here's my fuel for my overnight flight.

Now, I will close with a quick airplane selfie.

See you tomorrow.

Please Pray For Deidre

 Hey Friends,

This our last day in Arizona. We are supposed to take a red-eye flight overnight. Your prayers are appreciated!

Today, I am coming to you with a special prayer request. I know our readers are prayer warriors. You have helped us get through lots of rough places!

My cousin Deidre Boggs Shoemaker has been facing health issues. My cousin/sister heart is breaking. She needs a touch from God!

They have been battling the health care merry-go-round for days. Still the questions out number answers.

Thank you for the prayers. I know Deidre, Ben and the whole family appreciate every prayer!

See you later.

Arizona Time

 Hey Friends,

Yesterday we drove from California to Arizona. The travel time was around 5 hours.

It was a smooth travel day. God answered our prayers and got us safely to Arizona.

It was dinner time when we arrived. Soon we were meeting up with our longtime friends the Stevens and Martinez.

We had a fabulous visit with these dear friends. I am so thankful for precious people that are in our corner.

Mom and I ended our day with a stop at a new Buc-ee's in Good Year, Arizona.

It was fun to add another Buc-ee's to my  visited list. I need to count up all the ones that we have been to through the years.

I am looking forward to seeing more friends over the next couple days, before flying home. We get to be in church tonight at Desert Cove Assembly.

See you tomorrow.

Hello From California

 Hey Friends,

We woke up dark and early yesterday. The car was headed right back to the CVG airport for a 7:12 AM flight.

The travel day went great. We had another layover at the SLC airport. We were right back in some areas that we were in on Tuesday afternoon.

After 2 hours on the ground, it was time to be back in the air. We were bound for Fresno, California. It was good to visit the FAT airport once again.

Once we were off the plane, we headed to baggage claim. Everything was right where it was supposed to be. That is always when I can breathe a sigh of relief.

The rental car process was easy. Soon we were headed to the hotel. A long nap was calling my name. It felt so good to lie down! We both were able to sleep some on the planes.

We had beautiful sights out of the plane window today. The sky was clearer today. I love seeing God's creation from above.

I will close with pictures. See you later.
