Mind-Boggling Gift of Friendship Then and Now

Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by for a visit! I hope you are having a good day.

I took a trip down memory lane last night. I am so glad that we have Blog archives! I begin to wonder what we were doing 10 years ago this week?

Well, we were in the midst of City Reach Phoenix. My trip down memory lane brought back lots of happy memories last night!

10 years ago yesterday, Dad wrote a very special post honoring an extremely special friend to our family! Pastor Scott Morris had taken time out of his extremely busy schedule to come be with us for the first tent revival of City Reach 2016.

Bro. Scott Morris caught Dad’s vision for City Reach. He bore the burden with us! His friendship and prayers helped us immenselyl always, but it was extra special during the year of City Reach.

Pastor Scott Morris is not only a friend, but The Morris Family adopted us. We are forever family!

10 years later, they are still our dearest friends and family. Our love for the Morris family is enormous! Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for them!

Mom and I have leaned heavily on their friendship for the last year and a half. We have walked this road of grief and transition together. It is amazing to have wonderful people like them in corner.

We love you, Bro. Scott and Sis. Kim! Thank you for the bottom. I'm on my heart for standingwith us always!

I can not say it like my Daddy could. He had away with words. I am going to let him finish up this post. Let's rewind to April 8, 2016.

The Mind-Boggling Gift of Friendship - Pastor Scott Morris

“ It is raining as I write this and the wind is blowing pretty good too. We had to put up two short sections of side walls during church Thursday because of the wind. I really hate to do that but we had to.

Otherwise we all would have swallowed a pound or two of dust. We did have a great service though. Thank you for praying for us.

It has been amazing to have Pastor Scott Morris with us for several days this week. He flew in Friday night and flew back home Thursday. He was here for the tent set up, Sunday morning service in the church and four services under the tent.

Bro Scott bought a ticket, took time away from his family, left his church and school for several days including a Sunday, to come out here and work like a mule. I knew Bro. Scott was my friend but all this is way beyond the bounds of mere friendship.

This is a mind-boggling gift of friendship. It is hard to believe that a man would love us so much, believe in us so much and love revival so much that he would do all this. What an amazing gift.

Words are cheap and there are lots of us that talk a good game. It is something much higher to walk the talk. We realize that we have been abundantly blessed when it comes to friends. Bro Scott's actions this week are living proof of that blessing.

Thank you Scott Morris for making our week so memorable. Thank you for caring for us. Thank you for helping to carry our vision. You have done many things to help promote City Reach but this week was one of the best.

Thank you as well to Sis. Kim, Regan and Rylee and the saints in Richton for loaning us your husband, father and Pastor. May God bless you for your sacrifice.

Thank the Lord for surrounding us with such friends as Scott Morris and the many, many others that would be here if you could at all.   May God send revival to all of you for doing everything you can to promote revival here.

Here are a few pictures of my dear friend while here.

Thanks for reading.

Throwback Thursday 3/19/26

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for checking in today. I hope I can get this post to load for you. My phone signal is weak.

Let's throw it back 8 years today. Bro. Eddie Deane recently sent me this memory. I am thankful for my family, friends, and wonderful memories.

8 years ago this month, Bro. Phillip, Bro. Eddie and Bro. Jordan Deane came to visit us in Ohio. They laid the LVP flooring in my house.

It was a cold, snowy March week in 2018. We laughed until we cried. I am thankful for the memories collected that week. I am also grateful for their hard work getting the floor prepped and flooring laid!

This photo was taken in my living room. Pictured below are the following people. Front row: Jordan Deane, Odie, Eddie Deane and Phillip Deane.
Back row: Lisa Isaacs, Davy, Kelly, Eugene Boggs, Martha Boggs, Theresa Osborn, Karen Boggs and Steve Boggs.

See you tomorrow.

Throwback Thursday 1/29/26

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in. All the talk about bad weather recently reminded me of 2011. We experience the Tulsa Blizzard. Fun times that I will never forget.

We are throwing it back below. This is a post Dad published on February 1st 2011.

Dad would not have been excited about this week’s weather! His weather is perfect I am certain. Who knows, maybe just maybe Dad is loving snow in Heaven?!

I will let Dad close out. See you tomorrow.
Odie

“We are in the midst of a historic blizzard in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As of 3:00pm the snowfall is at an all time record of 13.8 inches and it is still falling. The wind is gusting up to 40 mph and will be for quite a while so the blizzard is still on. As you can see from the pictures below the snow is drifted several feet. The BoggsMobile has drifts of several feet on one side and the door has 2 feet in front of it. It won't be going any where for quite a while and the Cheap Jeep is stuck as well. We are warm, well fed and hunkered down. There will be no church of course.

So far we are having fun.

Then And Now With Carli Millikin

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by to visit with us. It is great to have you in our space.

Our blog archives hold a treasure trove of memories. I am grateful that I can look back and relive those memories from our blessed life. Last night I decided to look back at January 2010.

There I found this photo of me and Miss Carli Rose Millikin. She was trying to push my wheelchair. Carli proceeded to tell me that I was too heavy. 🤣

I know the quality is not the best, but I love this picture! The Millikins have been dear friends of ours for so many years! We have watched their children grow up before our eyes!

Here is some proof for you! This next photo was taken in October 2025. Miss Carli is now a freshman at Heritage Bible College.

15+ years later, she's still my buddy! I love her so very much and I'm proud of the young lady that she has become.

Thanks for coming with me on this trip down memory lane! Who knows where we will end up next time?

Throwback Thursday 11/13/25

 Hey Friends,

First off, today let's celebrate! My precious Aunt Theresa Boggs Osborn had a birthday today! Happy Happy birthday, Theresa!

We love you to the moon and back! I am so proud of you. You are a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, friend, and pastor's wife!

Thank you for being awesome! You are a blessing too many people! May God give you a wonderful day and great blessings today.

No doubt about it, you will always be Dad's favorite sister!

I have a couple of Throwback Thursday moments for today

This is Dad’s final A Word For Wednesday  He published this on the last Wednesday of October in 2024. It took all of his strength to get this episode recorded, edited and published. In fact, he begged Mom or I to record this episode for him

HERE is the link to the complete playlist for Dad's weekly Wednesday devotional. I am grateful that we have these videos archived! These messages are still thought-provoking and encouraging!

There is one more thing that happened a year ago today, I do not know if we mentioned it here on the blog. It is a memory that Mom and I will cherish forever! We believe that it is a God moment.

One year ago today, we arrived home to Ohio. Mom, Papaw Danny, and my self were in our car making the drive. My Uncle Danny and Aunt Jeanna were following us.

As we came in to Cincinnati, Ohio. A Southwest Airlines plane flew right in front of us. The plane was very noticeable! Dad’s body made it’s final trip home from Wichita, Kansas on a Southwest Airlines flight.

We came in to Cincinnati at the same time as his flight would have been making it final descent. We could not have planned it on our own to see that plane come in to Cincinnati.

In my mind, it was a Godwink that our hearts needed that very moment. I wish I would have snapped a picture, but I was too shocked in the moment. It is a memory that I will carry in my heart forever!

That is just one of the many way we have seen God work over the last year! I am so thankful that we can depend on God to always be with us. He is always working on our behalf even when I can't see it or fill it God is working! I believe it with all of my heart!

Thanks for reading! See you next time.

Throwback Thursday 10/22/25

Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate your prayers for baby Beckham. Please keep praying. He was a bit better at my last update. We are thanking God!

Yesterday was the 43rd wedding anniversary of our dear friends, Bruce and Priscilla Mayhan. They chose to spend the day with us, and we are incredibly honored!

I hope this was a great anniversary for them! Mom and I have loved having our dear friends with us this week.

I will let Dad finish out this post. We were able to attend the Mayhan's 40th anniversary celebration in 2022. I hope you enjoy this Throwback Thursday.

Special Day with Special Friends

"We have written about our dear friends, Bro. Bruce and Sis. Priscilla Mayhan, many times on these Mile Markers.

IF you have been paying attention, you have seen oodles of pictures of them on a pretty regular basis. The reason is, they have made a great effort to show themselves friendly and visit us through the years.

They have made trips to see us in Kentucky, North Carolina, Vermont, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Kansas, all over Oklahoma and several other places that are at the edge of my recollection at the moment. They have completely surprised us in some of those locations.

They have been with us in revivals and other services in all the locations I mentioned above and we have enjoyed their fellowship and their friendship more than we can describe. We have traveled together to Alaska and even to Australia and New Zealand.

We have enjoyed dozens and dozens of meals with them. From tacos and burritos to tremendous steak and buffets. We have laughed and talked and visited our way through restaurants and fellowship halls all over. AND enjoyed every moment and every bite.

They are witty and fun. They are loyal and Godly. Bro. Bruce has talked with me at length about the Bible and spiritual things and has given me the insight that I needed at critical junctures in my life. They are real friends that date back to the 1980s. Yep, into the last century!

We have known them since their boys were very small and now their boys have given them grandchildren that seem nearly grown. They have known us since Odie was a young girl.

Their sons were throwing a 40th Anniversary Celebration for them in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma last week. It just happened to be on the only night we had free in the area on a day when we were traveling right through Pauls Valley.

How easy was that? We try to tell people to schedule weddings, funerals and special get-togethers at least two years in advance so we can be there, but they are hardly ever are able to do that.😍

So, unfortunately, we miss occasions like this nearly 100% of the time. It seems we are always at least 500 miles away, but not this time. It was planned perfectly and we were super glad to be there and help celebrate our dear friends!

Tyler and Zach Mayhan

As a bonus, we were blessed to see some great friends that we had not seen in a long time, including Bro. Kenneth and Sis. Andra Rowe. Bro. Rowe was the first pastor in Texas to have us for revival and we enjoyed many, many nights of revival and fellowship with them in Keller, Texas spread over lots of years.

They retired a few years ago and moved to Oklahoma near Ft. Smith, Arkansas to be near their son and grandchildren. It was wonderful to see them and spend a few minutes with them. We have great memories of these special friends and hope to see them again soon!

Yes, it was a wonderful night. There was no way to visit with everyone there, but we enjoyed trying. May God bless the Mayhan's with another 40 years of happy marriage. I hope to be in Heaven by then, but I will be waiting for them to arrive.😍 We will celebrate then!

Thank you for joining us today. May God bless you too!
