Unwelcomed Visitors

 Hey Friends,

Mom found unwelcomed visitors at the barn yesterday. She spotted hornets swarming and their nest.

She had not seen it on Thursday when she mowed the yard. She was in and out of the barn with the door up and down several times. I am thankful she was not stung!

The nest is located in the upper right corner of the door.

Yesterday, Mom immediately took action and called the professionals to exterminate the hornets. We do not want them hanging out here.

Now, for a zoomed in look at the nest.

We both remembered Dad’s run in with hornets. He often told us this story. By the time I heard it, he was laughing about the ordeal. Yesterday, we just had to smile, thinking about Dad’s Hornets.

This is the story as we remember Dad telling us. I thought he had blogged about it before, but I could find no record of it.

When Dad was a kid, he was with some of his 98 Isaacs family cousins in Kentucky. They were picking blackberries.

Grandpa Isaacs parted a bush, and a big papery nest dropped on the ground. He cried, “HORNETS!!!!”

There were many kids and adults around, but the one kid that ran became the target of the hornets. It was my Dad!

He told us they chased him as he ran as fast as he could. He was being stung all over. They got under a leather bracelet he was wearing.

His dad, my Papaw Eugene was his salvation. He chased him down, tackling him pulled off his shirt and began to get the hornets off of him. I think they made it to the creek.

My Dad hated hornets from that day forward. Also, the daughters of his Uncle Herman Isaacs named him “Hornet”.

Even after they were all grown they would still call him “Hornet”  when they saw him.

Daddy loved his cousins and their memories! I think he loved his Hornet nickname from his beloved cousins.

Dad had to face his hornet fears on different occasions to get rid of a nest. He got stung doing so as an adult, and we heard the original hornet story then.

Let me close today with anniversary wishes. Uncle Jay and Aunt Theresa Osbon got married 34 years ago today!

Happy Anniversary! We love you both so much! I pray God grants you the best year yet!

See you tomorrow.

2LT Lucas Osborn

 Hey Friends,

We are blessed with an incredible family! I love our family members. I am thankful for the tight bond we have.

My first cousin tribe is awesome. God gave me great people to call mine. I have watched them all grow up. It is wonderful to know we have each other's backs. We can cry together and celebrate life’s milestones.

Lucas James Osborn is the baby grandchild on the Boggs side. Now, he is a strong, handsome young man, but will always be my sweet baby cuz. We love our little Lukey! 🤣

Today, I am a proud big cuz. Last month, Luke completed more of his training for the Kentucky National Guard. We are so proud of his great accomplishment! Congratulations, 2LT Osborn.

Uncle Jay and Aunt Theresa and Luke’s fiancée, Allison, were on hand for this graduation in Missouri. Aunt Theresa shared pics with us at home.

Friday evening, we met up with Luke for dinner. He was passing through Ohio for a day. It was wonderful to see him again.

I miss him when he is away!  Now he is off to Kentucky for his next great adventure. Please pray for him, as he embarks on life!

Thank you for reading.

Dodds Praise On The Porch Pics

 Hey Friends,

Firstly, I owe God a huge praise for answering prayers! The weather forecast yesterday had very high chances of rain during setup and church.

We asked God to hold off the bad weather. He did it! We were able to have outside service as planned. We are so thankful! The temperature was hot and the humidity high. We sweated out and survived.

The Lord met us during the service. He rewarded our worship with His sweet presence. Thank you, Jesus!

The amazing Luke Hauri joined us on vocals. He is incredible! We are honored that he will sing with us! It was special to have him sing with us, because he also has family ties at Dodds.

Bro. Carmin Dotry played drums for us. My adopted big Bro. is always ready to assist us! Thank you so much, Carmin!

My cousin Victor Boggs played bass. He is extremely talented! It was fun having him jam with us. Love you, VBoy!

Bro. Aaron and Sis. Candace Berger helped us with the sound equipment and running it for us. They were a huge blessing to us!

Below are a handful of pictures from the evening. These came from a few different ladies. Thanks for sending me your pictures.

See you all tomorrow!

8 Years Of Thankfulness

 Hey Friends,

I have been reflecting on a special memory. Today is a memorable date for me. 8 years ago today, my Beach Cottage home was deemed livable.

That morning, the inspector came for a final inspection. I was immensely thrilled when Dad called me. I could move in.

I did not yet own furniture, so we made a trip to Ikea. There, we picked up some furniture. My Aunt and Uncle loaned me some pieces.

Once we returned home from Ikea, some of our family came to help me get situated. By bedtime, things were set up enough that I could stay in my house.

I was thrilled to spend my first night in my home. I could hardly go to sleep. I was overcome with gratitude to be surrounded by my miracle of a home!

8 years later my gratitude has not waned! God saw the bigger picture when made my special a reality! I needed it more than I ever imagined!

Thank you dear God, for my blessing of a Beach Cottage!!

See you later.

Gran’s Day

 Hey Friends,

I have a couple of pics from our Monday. We spent the day with Gran and Papaw

We could not make our schedules align for Mother’s Day, so we celebrated Gran on Monday. We spent time eating, shopping and laughing. It made for a great day!

Bass Pro even had a “Gran size” camping chair. 😊

Thank you for reading. See you tomorrow.

Mother’s Day 2026 In Pics

 Hey Friends,

Yesterday was a wonderful Sunday. We spent it going to church twice at DRPC.

Both services were very good. God blessed and helped! Bro. Bennie delivered excellent messages that were encouraging and helpful to us!

Sunday morning, at the end of the service, we honored the mothers. They recognized Sis Sutherland as the Mother of the church. Then they honored the Youngest Mother, Oldest Mother present, the Mother with the most children present, and drew a name for the "Prettiest Mother. Then all the Mothers received a gift.

After service, Mom and I grabbed a quick bite to eat. When our family finished their service, we stopped by Mamaw and Papaw's house. We spent some time with some family members.

Then we had time to head home for a quick nap. Quickly, it was time to go back to church.

A special part of Sunday night was the ordination of two of our DRPC young preachers. We are proud of Bro. Jared Hall and Bro. Luke Hall and Sis. Madison Hall.

Then it was time to honor the class of 2026. We have 3 high school graduates this year.

This made for a full but blessed Sunday! Here are some pictures from our day. See you tomorrow.
