Saturday Check In

 Hey Friends,

I hope you are having a super Saturday. Today is a travel Day for us. We are heading home from our getaway this week. I will share more info on our week on Monday.

This week has been terrific! It has been a blessing to spend time with the Mayhans.

They have been our friends for the long haul since I was 4 years old. They have been with us through thick and thin and back to thick again, as Dad said. 😀

It is a blessing to have awesome friends on our side. This week, we made many new memories. Reminisced about lots of past adventure. We even shed some tears and dreamed about the future adventures.

Mom and I love Bro. Bruce and Sis Priscilla so much.  They go out of their way to encourage us and treat us like family! We are grateful they chose to spend the time and money to join us this week!

It is time to hit the road. “We will see our friends again down the road.” See you all tomorrow.

Throwback Thursday 10/22/25

Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate your prayers for baby Beckham. Please keep praying. He was a bit better at my last update. We are thanking God!

Yesterday was the 43rd wedding anniversary of our dear friends, Bruce and Priscilla Mayhan. They chose to spend the day with us, and we are incredibly honored!

I hope this was a great anniversary for them! Mom and I have loved having our dear friends with us this week.

I will let Dad finish out this post. We were able to attend the Mayhan's 40th anniversary celebration in 2022. I hope you enjoy this Throwback Thursday.

Special Day with Special Friends

"We have written about our dear friends, Bro. Bruce and Sis. Priscilla Mayhan, many times on these Mile Markers.

IF you have been paying attention, you have seen oodles of pictures of them on a pretty regular basis. The reason is, they have made a great effort to show themselves friendly and visit us through the years.

They have made trips to see us in Kentucky, North Carolina, Vermont, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Kansas, all over Oklahoma and several other places that are at the edge of my recollection at the moment. They have completely surprised us in some of those locations.

They have been with us in revivals and other services in all the locations I mentioned above and we have enjoyed their fellowship and their friendship more than we can describe. We have traveled together to Alaska and even to Australia and New Zealand.

We have enjoyed dozens and dozens of meals with them. From tacos and burritos to tremendous steak and buffets. We have laughed and talked and visited our way through restaurants and fellowship halls all over. AND enjoyed every moment and every bite.

They are witty and fun. They are loyal and Godly. Bro. Bruce has talked with me at length about the Bible and spiritual things and has given me the insight that I needed at critical junctures in my life. They are real friends that date back to the 1980s. Yep, into the last century!

We have known them since their boys were very small and now their boys have given them grandchildren that seem nearly grown. They have known us since Odie was a young girl.

Their sons were throwing a 40th Anniversary Celebration for them in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma last week. It just happened to be on the only night we had free in the area on a day when we were traveling right through Pauls Valley.

How easy was that? We try to tell people to schedule weddings, funerals and special get-togethers at least two years in advance so we can be there, but they are hardly ever are able to do that.😍

So, unfortunately, we miss occasions like this nearly 100% of the time. It seems we are always at least 500 miles away, but not this time. It was planned perfectly and we were super glad to be there and help celebrate our dear friends!

As a bonus, we were blessed to see some great friends that we had not seen in a long time, including Bro. Kenneth and Sis. Andra Rowe. Bro. Rowe was the first pastor in Texas to have us for revival and we enjoyed many, many nights of revival and fellowship with them in Keller, Texas spread over lots of years.

They retired a few years ago and moved to Oklahoma near Ft. Smith, Arkansas to be near their son and grandchildren. It was wonderful to see them and spend a few minutes with them. We have great memories of these special friends and hope to see them again soon!

Yes, it was a wonderful night. There was no way to visit with everyone there, but we enjoyed trying. May God bless the Mayhan's with another 40 years of happy marriage. I hope to be in Heaven by then, but I will be waiting for them to arrive.😍 We will celebrate then!

Thank you for joining us today. May God bless you too!

Birthday Trip Special Guests

 Hey Friends,

We are having a great time on my birthday trip. Yesterday we drove seeing beautiful scenery and historic landmarks.

Fellowship and food has been a highlight for me. I invited our longtime friends Bruce and Priscilla Mayhan to join us this week.

They accepted my invitation. It is wonderful to have them along. We still have fun plans ahead this week.

Thanks for reading. I will close with a few pics.

40th Birthday Trip with Mom

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for stopping by for a Monday visit. Mom and I have been traveling again. Are you surprised?

Mom gifted me a memorable trip for my birthday. We decided to go to a new to us spot. This is the week for the trip. I will tell you all about it when we get home.

We have some exciting things planned this week. I am anticipating lots of fun, food, fellowship and rest!

I also invited some special friends to join us. I will share more info tomorrow. We are already enjoying spending time with them.

Here are some pics from Saturday’s travel. I love my Mama, and I am thrilled to be on this birthday trip with her. Thank you to our family at home who are holding the fort down at home for us!

See you tomorrow.

Odie’s Actual 40th Birthday In Pics

 Hey Friends,

I survived my 40th birthday yesterday! The day was fabulous! I am overwhelmed by the love of my family and friends! I received many calls, texts, voicemails, emails, comments and cards. Every single one of them is extremely important to me!  I appreciate the people who took time out of their busy days to remember my birthday!

My day started slow, by choice! We arrived home in the early hours of the morning after our trip to Oklahoma.

Uncle Steve came around noon to pick us up. He drove us to Cincinnati so Mom could take care of something. Within a few minutes, we were back on the road.

We then headed toward Acapulco in Lebanon. There we met up with my Mamaw and Papaw for a fun birthday lunch.

Then we had a brief moment at home. We tried to recuperate some more from yesterday's travel.

Yesterday evening, my Mom's parents came to visit. October 14th was also their 58th wedding anniversary. They invited us to join them at Longhorn for a joint anniversary /birthday dinner. We had a great evening with Gran and Papaw! It has been rare for me to be with them on their anniversary and my birthday.

As I type this post, the day has been full of smiles! I cannot thank everyone enough who made this birthday extra special. I know many of you prayed extra prayers for me, and I appreciate it very much. I did miss my Daddy! I am grateful to have a treasure trove of birthday memories from the past.

I am generally not a person who carries the birthday celebration all month. Due to everybody's hectic schedules. My family and friends are extending my birthday celebration even further. The celebrations began in mid-September and might continue through mid-November.

God has blessed me with 40 years of life! My life had a scary start to it! I arrived on the scene eight weeks ahead of schedule. Spent the first 27 days of my life in the Nicu. From my start at 3 lbs. 9 oz. the Lord has brought a mighty long way! I plan to enjoy this new year to the fullest! Thank you, dear readers being part of it!

Below are some pictures we took yesterday on my birthday. You will see the birthday lunch at Acapulco. My birthday dinner at Longhorn, and a few more along the way! I was blessed to receive two beautiful bouquets of flowers! Thank you to my cousin Lisa and my Aunt Theresa, for thinking of me!

See you all tomorrow!
