Goodbye Green Machine

 Hey Friends,

Take a moment to rewind to May 2012 by reading Dad’s old post here. He introduced you to our newest mode of transportation.

The Envy Green 2006 Scion XB became a beloved family member. My parents drove it countless miles, and it was towed behind the BoggsMobile for 8.5 years. It also rode thousands of miles in the tent trailer for many years.

We loved the car that we lovingly called The Green Machine. It was a blessing from God! We prayed for the right car, and God answered our prayers!

We loved the ability to load it down and haul a bunch of stuff. The little thing was so roomy. We got majorly spoiled. It was easy for me to get in and out of. The gas mileage was great!

Some people hated the green color. Believe it or not, we adored it. We could easily spot our car in a crowded parking lot!

By the end of 2020, the green machine was tired of road life! It was worn out and needed lots of TLC. We retired her to living at home.

The KJo Jeep joined our fleet of vehicles, and the Green Machine lived on. Dad used it locally and could not part with the beloved family member.

Bro. Whiffen in Florida loves Scion XBs, too. He always wanted The Green Machine, but it needs much work on many issues.

A few months ago, we told him he could get it now. He plans to restore it. I can't wait to see it fixed up!

Florida and Ohio are not neighbors, so getting it to him was a little difficult with his and our schedules.

Finally, we decided to have it transported to Florida. Now, he did not have to spend money, time and strength on a trip to Ohio to retrieve the car.

Mom found a company, and the price was reasonable. We scheduled the pickup for sometime this week.

On Monday morning, we found out the driver was on his way. Mom said he was a very nice young man. He worked diligently to load the car on his truck, which was not easy.

Here are some pics I took from my porch. Mom had him load it in the Dodds Church
parking lot.

The transport driver left Ohio Monday afternoon. By Wednesday morning the car was delivered safe and sound to its new home.

Thank God for a great vehicle! It served us well!

Thanks for reading!

Weekend Wrap Up 6/23/25

 Hey Friends,

Our Saturday began bright and early. We were on the road by 7:15 AM, heading back toward Ohio. The trip between Sigourney, Iowa and Waynesville, Ohio, takes around 8 hours and 15 minutes. Our goal was to make the whole trip in one day.

We did take it slow. Mom had some stops built in along the way. It was a hot day to travel, but thankfully the sun was shining. The traffic was light on our route. The worst thing we encountered was all the construction zones along the way.

Most of them noody was working, but that did not change the photo enforced speed limits. We did not want to risk the chance of getting a speeding ticket! Mom chose to not exceed the speed limit, in those zones.

Our first stop of the day was at my favorite truckstop! The world‘s largest truckstop, Iowa 80 in Walcott, Iowa. I was happy to be back at one of my favorite places.

We stopped for some breakfast and walked around the store for a little bit. I enjoyed the stop, but missed my Daddy! I know, it is strange to think, going to a large truckstop was a big first for me without my Daddy. I felt weird getting emotional. I held it in until we got back in the car.

I loved seeing how happy it made him to take me to one of my favorite places. I am so glad for the memories that I have with my Daddy!

Here are thr pictures that I took Saturday. When we return to Iowa next year, I will try to recreate some of the pictures Dad took.

You can read about our previous visits by clicking on the blue links below. I had a few laughs going back to read Dad's post. Dad tagged it as my happiest place on Earth. We visited there three other times through the years, 2011, 2014 and 2019.

For any new readers, I grew up as a radio junkie. One of my favorite things to listen to was our local AM radio station that had, The Trucking Bozo. His show, is where I first learned of Iowa 80 Truckstop! I guess I was a weird child!

The next step on the GPS for us, was in Indianapolis area. We did have to make another few pitstops. we spent a couple hours in the Indianapolis area to do a little bit of shopping and grab dinner.

The only other picture I took while traveling Saturday was of our dinner at City BBQ in Greenwood, Indiana.
Man, that was a fine meal!

Home was the next stop! it was great to roll into the driveway on Saturday night. By the time we got the car, unloaded and settled down it was late. It sure felt good to crawl into my bed that night!

I had a thankful heart because God gave us a wonderful trip!  from the start to the finish and everything in between we were blessed!

Sunday, it was great to be back in service with our church family at DRPC. We enjoyed getting to hear our Pastor B.D. Sutherland preach and see so many of our dear friends!

I only snapped a few pictures Sunday.

That wraps up our wonderful weekend! See you tomorrow!

Weekend Wrap Up 6/15/25

 Hey Friends,

Did you catch our posts for Father's Day?  Mom wrote one for Saturday, and I wrote one yesterday. You can see them here and here.

Hello from Iowa! We are here to sing for a revival in Sigouney, Iowa. We are excited to be here with Pastor John Stringfellow and his family!

I will post more about the revival later in the week. Please pray for Mom and me. We desire an extra special anointing this week!

Here are a few pictures from our weekend.
I was craving delicious salsa and Mexican food, so we headed to Alcapulco.

Friday evening, we took a break from laundry and packing. We spent the evening in Hillsboro, Ohio, with Mom’s family. It was a quick but great visit.

We hit the road late Saturday morning. The travel day was smooth. We stopped for lunch, several restroom breaks and we snuck in 30 minutes of shopping. Thank God we had a fantastic travel day.

By Saturday night we were close enough to our final destination. We decided to stop and stay in one spot for two nights. Mom found a good deal on a fabulous room. The hotel just opened. I had to document the room.

Yesterday was for resting. Lunch was the biggest event of the day. Mom ordered Longhorn to go. I did not want to fight the crowds. It was delicious!

That’s a wrap on our weekend. Thank for riding along with us.

Family Anniversaries And Food

Hey Friends,

Thank God we made it safely home last night! We are always so thankful for His protection. God is so good!

We were not in any hurry yesterday, so we could take it easy in the morning. After spending two long days in the studio recording, it was a reward day!

Our travel day was smooth! We were craving a good steak dinner to cap off our trip. Several of our family members were already planning to meet up at Longhorn. They invited us to join them, and we gladly accepted! That was the perfect way to end our day!

Yesterday was Mamaw and Papaw's 62nd wedding anniversary. Today is Jay and Theresa’s 33rd wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary to both lovely couples.

We were celebrating their marriage milestones with an excellent meal and great family time! It was a precious evening!

I can never stress enough how much I love my family! I am so blessed and thankful that God gave me a wonderful family! I love all of them so much!

Now we are home and gearing up for the next adventure that starts soon! Here are a few pictures from last night's dinner.

I will see you all next time!

Tennessee Family and Friends Fun

 Hey Friends,

Hello from the home front. We were gone Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This time, it was time for a road trip with Mamaw and Papaw to visit Friends. We had a great trip! The travel went smoothly, the fellowship was superb, and, of course, we had delicious food along the way!

I failed as a blogger in documenting everything. However, I do have a handful of pictures from our short trip to share.

The weather was gorgeous. On the trip down there, it was terrific to see spring in action! Redbud trees lined the road, and we enjoyed the sunshine.

Mamaw and Papaw wanted to visit a long time family friend, Gladys. It was great to see her once again. Tuesday afternoon we met her for dinner at Cracker Barrel.

Dad often loved to quote the words of wisdom from Garfield the cat. I saw this towel in Cracker Barrel and knew he would have loved this one! It would have become part of his regular vocabulary!

Wednesday we traveled to Oak Ridge Tennessee. Where we met up with Bro. Herman, Sis Margaret Woods and Sis. Sue Nicholas. We enjoyed a great lunch with them at Shoney's. That is where I started forgetting to take pictures.

Before heading back to the hotel. We did stop for ice cream at Dairy Queen. I can not spend too much time with either one of my Papaws without an ice cream.

I did take some pictures of DQ to show Papaw Danny what he missed.

We took a drive to see some of the beautiful scenery along our route. Here are a couple pictures that Mom captured of Papaw Eugene. I thought they were wonderful!

Wednesday night we attended church at Beechfork in Wartburg, Tennessee. It was great to be in service again with Pastor Herman Woods, and all of our precious Beechfork friends! We love those dear people like our family! They have been so instrumental in our lives over the years.

Thursday morning it was time to point the car toward home. We took our time driving home enjoying scenery in Kentucky.

The car magically found its way to Sonny’s BBQ for lunch! Yes, the food tasted just as good or even better than it looks! below our pictures of mine and Mom's meals.

The company was even better!

I love my Mama!

I always have to take a quick picture of Sonny’s sweet barbecue sauce to send to my Uncle Danny Morgan.  He loves it! Well, it is one of my favorite barbecue sauces too.

That is a full recap on this week’s travel. I hope you enjoyed a peek into our week. See you tomorrow.
