Celebrating My Incredible Daddy

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for spending a moment of your weekend with us! First, I wanted to encourage you to check out yesterday's post HERE, if you missed it.

For the Boggs family, yesterday was a holiday. January 16 is the birthdate of the one and only Davy Boggs.

We set aside the day on the blog and in real life to celebrate him! The family text started early in the morning. Memories and pictures poured in until late last night. I hope to share some of those memories later.

I laughed, I cried, I smiled, but most of all, I was proud to be his daughter!
Mom and I were joined by several of our family members at Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner.

All of us were missing Davy Boggs! The delicious food and wonderful family time were a soothing balm to our hearts.

Here are a few pictures from Davy’s 2026 birthday dinner!

Mom and I split his favorite steak, in Dad’s honor.

I know the picture does not look like it, but Uncle Jay was fully there last night 😂. He cut himself half out of the picture

See you all tomorrow!

Old Habits Are Hard To Break

Hey Friends,

This is Odie. Today is another family birthday. A big one for us. 59 years ago today, my Daddy was born. He entered the world at 6 lb 6oz. He lived a full life that impacted many.

I love my Daddy with all my heart! Today, I honor and remember him! We miss him deeply!

Mom is going to finish this post. Thank you for reading.

A Message from KJo

Today, we gather with family to remember and honor the birthday of the best man I have ever known. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a faithful son, and a cherished brother to all of us meeting today.

He never cared much for public attention on his birthday, though he always enjoyed celebrating quietly with those he loved. While he won’t be joining us here on earth this year—having changed his address to heaven—he has left pieces of himself in each of us. His influence lives on daily. He shaped who we are, taught us countless lessons, and if we take the time to look, we can still find him everywhere. So, in a sense, he is with us.

So what made him the best man I have ever known?

First, his deep and unwavering love for his family. Then, his sincere love for God and his adventurous, faithful service to Him. Add to that his care and concern for his friends, and his compassion for the hurting and the overlooked. These are only a few of the qualities that defined him.

Did you notice the common thread?

Love.
Davy Boggs loved—When he did, he did so fiercely.

He taught us how to love. He taught us to be real, to seek God wholeheartedly, and to walk in faith even when the road was uncertain. When we look closely, we can see Davy reflected in who we are.

Some of you were blessed to know him up close and witness that love in action. Maybe you were on the receiving end of one of his preacher to pastor counseling talks, when he helped talk you off a cliff. If so, then you understand exactly what I mean when I say he was a good man—and a loving one.

Before I close, there is one more lesson he passed on to us—one Habit That Is Hard To Break.

This man loved good food and he taught us to as well!
So here we go again…the Longhorn Birthday habit!

Today, we are honoring his birthday the way he would have enjoyed: with one of his favorite steaks from LongHorn.

None of this likely matters to him now as he celebrates in the presence of Jesus. But for those of us still here, life continues. We carry on, bringing our favorite “Davy things” with us, knowing
that when we do, we never truly leave him behind.

Here is a link to a video of Davy singing “If You Could See Me Now.”

Thank you for reading today. I hope these words have made sense as I express a viewpoint I share with myself often.

DRPC New Year’s Revival 2026

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your new year is off to a great start! Tonight is the final night of New Year's revival at DRPC.

Pastor Jon Isaacs has been preaching outstandingly this week. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting see and visit with Bro. Jon and Sis. Heidi!

We had to miss Tuesday night due to recovery from sickness. Wednesday night's watch night service was excellent. We had communion. It is always a special time at DRPC. 2025 ended greatly. Last night, the Lord visited us so sweetly.

Last night, we also attended an annual gathering at the home of Bro. Jeff and Sis. Debbie Roberts. The food and fellowship was grand!

I am excited to see what God has in store for us tonight. Here are some pictures from Wednesday and Thursday nights.

See you tomorrow.

Foodie Friday And BoggsBlogs Birthday

Hey Friends,

Happy Foodie Friday! Today, BoggsBlogs is 16 years old! Let's reflect and celebrate.

HERE and HERE are the first two test posts. Dad shared these on November 7th 2009. I think my memory is correct; we started the blog while in Gainesville, Texas.

The blog was created to update family and friends on our 2009 trip to Nigeria. Little did we know that it would become such a big part of our lives! Dad kept family and friends updated on the happenings of our travels. Dad also wrote about different projects. He was working on whether it was on the BoggsMobile, barn or my house. The blog was his online journal. Through the years, we have been so thankful that we can look back on what was happening.

16 years later, here we are. I thought it was fitting to repost the blog's first two pictures for Foodie Friday.

Double Big Daddy from Ron’s Hamburger And Chili. This was Dad's favorite burger of all time! The last cheeseburger he ate was from Ron's on September 1, 2013! Yes, Dad did indeed go the rest of his life, 11 years 2 months and 9 days without another burger!

This is another family, favorite meal, German Sundaes.

In closing, let's have some cake to celebrate the 16th birthday Of BoggsBlogs! This is a recent picture taken at Longhorn steakhouse in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Thank you for sticking around on this journey! We are thankful for each of our dear blog readers!

Foodie Friday Friends Family And Furry Friends

Hey Friends,

Happy Friday! Welcome to August! 2025 is sailing right by. I find it hard to believe that fall is right around the corner!

I have had an incredible week! It has been wonderful to fellowship with family and friends. We have enjoyed some delicious food along the way! It is a joy to experience laughter and friendship!

My friends Emily and Nathan Roberts came to get me on Wednesday evening. We had wanted to go out for dinner for a long time, and Wednesday was the appointed day. Mexican was on the menu, and I was all for that!

Alcapulco was just as good as ever! Our friends there took great care of us. Pictures do not do the food justice. I apologize that you cannot taste or smell this food!

I enjoyed the evening with Emily and Nathan! Thank you so much, my dear friends for spending part of your day with me! You will never know how much it meant to me!

On the way home from Acapulco, a sudden heavy rain popped up. We had to wait it out for a few moments in the car.

Wednesday, my cousin Lauren Osborn sent me this picture of the beach cottage. This was taken from the Dodds church parking lot.

Thanks, Lauren, for capturing this beautiful picture. I love to see a rainbow! I am reminded of the promises of God every time!

Also, here is another photo that I captured that evening. it was cool enough for me to enjoy my porch and a beautiful sunset!

Thursday, it was time for more family and fellowship! The rain continued so the party came to me! The beach cottage became the party house.

They brought Raising Cane's with them too! It was scrumptious. my friends spoil me! 😂

I was thrilled to have my cousins Sarah, Bethany, Rebecca, Emerson, Grace Brylee and Clayton visit me! I think we all laughed until we hurt. It was just what the doctor ordered for all of us!

I say it a lot, but I am so thankful for these ladies and their families! They have been my heroes since I was a girl. We have grown up together and experienced a lot of life. I'm so thankful for them! Thank you for taking time for me! I love you all so much!

Yes, we missed you, Rodney, Philip, Brandon and Bryson! I knew I would get that question from them. 🤣

Here is one more visitor to the beach cottage I caught on camera this week.

I have seen rabbits often. This little bunny stayed in this spot for a long time! I guess he was being my guard rabbit that night. I usually see them down by our barn, not in front of the house.

Thank you for reading. See you all tomorrow!
