Winter Storm Prep January 2026

 Hey Friends,

We have been in storm-prep mode, just like most of the United States. I hope you have your supplies. Stay safe and warm!

It sure seems as if this will be a history-making weather event!
On Wednesday, we went to Walmart to make sure we had food. Mom has the generator ready.

All the storm prep things are done. I think Mom is all set. She can ride out the storm safely. Hopefully, we are overprepared!

Ryan Hall is our go-to weather guy on YouTube. Our Y'all Meter 3.0 ready to measure the snow.

I also did so personal storm prep. I booked a flight to Florida for yesterday. You see, I have had plans for a months to fly out Saturday afternoon. It's vacation time for me.

Tuesday we decided to leave Ohio a little early to avoid the nasty weather. That is why yesterday found me and Michelle Bostwick flying from Cincinnati to Orlando. We did not want to miss vacation due to weather issues.

It looks like our temps for vacation will be cooler than normal. I will take cooler temps and sunshine instead of the frigid weather of Ohio!

There you have a look at storm prep from one extreme to the other. Praying for everyone to stay well, warm and safe. For all my friends traveling for the Singing At Sea cruise, I hope to see you on the ship!

Thank you for reading!

Christmas Eve Milkshake 2025

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for stopping by. I am here to tell you about a very special milkshake.

Dad and I shared a kindred love for eggnog. Since I was a tiny girl, he would stop on Christmas Eve to get some for us to enjoy together on Christmas morning.

Along the way, it turned into a Christmas Eve stop at UDF for an eggnog milkshake. Dad continued this traditioneven when he would not drink a milkshake himself.

This was a special treat I looked forward to every year. It did not matter the weather; he would stop just for me. This special milkshake was a way Daddy expressed his love for me.

Last year, I decided to go get a milkshake in honor of my Daddy and remember the good times. I invited the family to join us, too.

My Papaw and Uncle Danny were there, encouraging me. It was really sweet! In 2024, a new tradition was born. Last year, 9 of us went to get milkshakes. Then we went to my Uncle’s church to fellowship and reminisce over our shakes.

2025 came, and my family was ready to go to UDF for shakes to wrap up our Christmas Eve festivities. This year, I think there were 12 of us

I was a happy camper to get my eggnog milkshake. It was a sweet way to honor my precious Daddy.

Thank you, Uncle Danny, for keeping this this special tradition alive with me. I love you!

See you next time.

Sunday Sanity 11/2/25

 Hey Friends,

The time has fallen back. Did you enjoy your extra hour of sleep last night? I did my best to make the most of the additional time!

Here is something funny for you this Sunday. Dad would occasionally do something humorous for Sanity. Now it is my turn.

Last Saturday, my Uncle Jay visited me. He was Moses at the Dodds Church fall harvest party. I never had a visitor like Moses on my doorbell camera. His visit made my day.

Thank you for reading.

Interesting Animals Came to School

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by to visit. don't forget our new project, The Next Step, is available for digital download! Click here to find out more information.

This is a fun post. While we were in Richton, Mississippi they had a fun day at the church’s Christian school.

They had a lady come and bring some interesting animals. The animals were rescued or were former pets that we given to Freedom Ranch Wildlife Center in Purvis, Mississippi.

Bro. Scott invited us to come to school to see the animals too. Animals fascinate me at a distance!

Last minute Mom had to work on something, but I went to see the animals. My Papaw Danny and Uncle Steve were also there.

The kids got to see interesting animals and learn fun facts about the animals. It was so fun!

Here are pictures from the fun day. Thanks to Sis. Wanda for some of the pictures.

Uncle Steve even held the snake. I passed on touching the snake. I did pet the lion rabbit. He was cool!

Here is some backstory on this pic. Bro. Scott was helping the lady get set up. He came into the building with his hands full, and my Papaw Danny offered to help him. He took this bin, without realizing what was inside! Papaw got a good startle when he looked down and saw a python! 😂

The Great Iowa Fall Of 2025

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for stopping by! Today, I am going to share a hilarious story with you. I hope you're ready for a good laugh!

As you may recall, Mom and I traveled to Iowa last month. We had a fabulous time with Pastor John Stringfellow and his family! We immensely enjoyed the revival in Keswick, Iowa. I am still rejoicing over the services we had that week.

Our very dear friends, Bro. Andy and Sis. Tina Stringfellow was the evangelist during the revival. It was so wonderful to be with the Stringfellow family! We all made so many great memories during that week!

Probably the greatest of them all happened unexpectedly! Let me give you a little backstory…

There is a wooden ramp attached to Pastor John Stringfellow’s home. That is the entrance that I used to enter the house. to get to the ramp, we had to do a little off-road driving in my wheelchair and cut through the yard.

On Wednesday, it rained, making the yard very soft. Bro. Andy offered to push me through the soft yard to help Mom.

I trust Bro. Andy, therefore, I agreed to his help. We took this picture laughing at a memory made by our friend Mandi Morris many years ago. Bro. Andy was imitating Mandi’s version of leaning me back! 🤣 We had a good laugh!

Then Mom showed him how to properly lean me back on the back two wheels, to make getting across the soft yard easier.

We made it safely across the yard. Bro. Andy decided to keep me leaning back while walking on the ramp. Sis. Tina warned him that there was a slick spot on the ramp.

We found the said slick spot! When his feet hit that spot, they went toward the street and his face toward the ground. My chair proceeded to lay all the way down on the ground. It all happened in the blink of an eye!

Bro. Andy and I bumped heads on our way down. Thankfully, we were both were ok! It is a wonder that I did not come all the way out of my chair!

My dress had migrated up around my waist. Mom said I was laying on my back with my feet pointed toward the sky. All she could see was me lifting my dress up in the air, trying to cover my legs. I was worried about being decent! Bro. Andy assured me that he did not see anything, because his face was toward the ground.

Once we were assured that we both were alright. All we could do was laugh! The Great Fall Of Iowa 2025 happened insanely fast! The memory will last a lifetime! I have not quit laughing about it since that day!

Bro. Andy and I said we needed T-shirts saying that we survived The Great Fall of Iowa 2025. The picture above was taken moments before the fall! My mom still had my phone in her hand.Everyone around us was laughing too hard to get any pictures or video of the actual fall. We were asked for a recreation, but we declined!

Let me just state, I still trust, Bro. Andy! He pushed my wheelchair again the next day. He did not keep me leaned back while going up the wood ramp. We learned our lesson! We also avoided slick spot!

There you have the story of The Great Iowa Fall Of 2025!  Bro. Andy felt horrible! There is no reason to feel horrible! I think it is hilarious! Accidents happened to all of us!

He offered to push my chair at church that night, but I turned him down. The spirit of my dad came over me, “I told him you know after our fall today I can't walk!” 🤣

See y'all tomorrow!

June 6, 2007, Seth Erickson Evans entered this world in Hillsboro, OH. I was so excited for his arrival!

Cinco de Mayo 2025

Hey Friends,

Today is Cinco de Mayo, the fifth day of May. It is a Mexican holiday, which I believe is celebrated more in the USA than in Mexico.

It is Monday is not Throwback Thursday, but I had to share Dad's annual Cinco de Mayo photo. I think one of his all-time favorite pictures. If my memory is correct, Dad first posted this picture in May 2019. It was taken in Gainesville, Texas.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo and my Daddy. Here is this great picture that showcases his wonderful sense of humor!

Thanks for reading! I hope this brought a smile to your face today as it did mine!

This Case Of The Lost Glasses

 Hey Friends,

I am so glad you stopped by on a Saturday to visit with me. How is your weekend going? We are doing well. Today, we are heading to my cousin Kolby’s 1st birthday party.

I am going to share a funny story. Before I start, I want to state that Mom gave me full permission to blog about this. She told me you have to blog about this.

Mom is prone to setting down her glasses and walking away. Well, not just her glasses, her keys, phone, purse, and anything else. Later, I will hear have you seen my…

A couple of weeks ago, the hunt for her glasses began yet again. We looked all over the house in every drawer, pocket, bag, nook, and cranny we could think of. She searched the car, yard, barn, tent, trailer, church, and anywhere else that crossed our mind that she could have possibly left them. She declared them lost for real this time.

Mom was stuck wearing Dad‘s bifocal readers from Amazon. We all knew the old ones would show up After she got new ones.

She needed an updated prescription, so she chose an eye doctor and made an appointment. On Monday, she visited the eye doctor for a check-up and exam. We came home that evening, and she placed an order with Zenni for two new pairs of glasses.

Mom utilized the option of paying for a rush order to be able to have her glasses faster. They arrived at the house yesterday morning.

She retrieved the package from the front porch and then came into to my room. We were admiring her new glasses! As she was standing in my room and we were talking, she put her hand in the pocket of her blanket robe.

Mom does not wear the blanket robe very often when it’s warm outside. When she stuck her hand in the pocket, she began laughing uncontrollably. I to asked her what in the world is so funny? Her reply, I literally just found my glasses!!

I mean, the FedEx truck probably was not even all the way out of our driveway from delivering the package. We both were laughing so hard!

"Mom said I knew I would find my old glasses, but I did not know it would be that quick!" Oh, we had so much fun with that all day long!

She went from no glasses to three pairs of glasses, in just a few minutes. The new ones do have her updated prescription. But she can still see out of her old ones too. It does not hurt to have extra glasses! I advised her to leave a pair in the car. I cannot count how many times we have went somewhere, and she says I forgot my glasses.

I am thankful that we solved the case of the missing glasses! Next time she is looking for her glasses I will remind her to check her blanket robe pocket! Has something like this ever happened to you?

Thanks, Mom, for giving us something to laugh about! Also, thank you for allowing me to share this on the blog! I love you so much!

Thanks for reading! See you tomorrow!

Odie’s Squishy Arms

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by to visit with me today. It is always great to have you in our part of the world! I have a hilarious story that happened to me last month.

First, I would like to say I think this is hilarious! My feelings were not harmed during this incident!

I will be the first to admit that I desperately need to shed some weight. My arms are on the bigger side, not only because I am heavier but I use my arms daily to lift myself. I often say I lift heavy weights every day! I lift myself! I have built up some upper body strength.

If the Mother and daughter I communicated with during this story ever read my post, thank you for making my day! I have laughed a lot since this moment, and instantly, I knew this would be great blog material.

I was shopping before PFYC at one of my favorite places, Zadie B’s. It is a boutique that specializes in modest clothing. The shopping atmosphere is very relaxed. I have found it is common to start a conversation with a stranger there.

On this occasion, I was taking a dress back to the rack when a lady stopped me, wanting to know my opinion on how the dress fit me. She already had the same dress waiting for her in the fitting room. While we were discussing the dress, the lady's little girl noticed my big arms.

The girl said something like look, Mom, she has squishy too! She was pointing to my upper arms. The mother was instantly embarrassed. She began apologizing for her daughter, saying she does not have a filter. I tried my best to assure her that it was fine! I thought it was so funny! The liittle girl said, but mom, I love your squishy!

Needless to say, our conversation ended. I quickly found my Mom in the store to tell her what had happened. We both had us a good case of laughter! Oh, kids they make this world a great place! You gotta love them!

It also reminded me of the time several years ago. I think I have mentioned this here before, but it's been a while. A Pastor's little girl was talking to me, and she began to tell me that they were looking at pictures on our website.

She said that her Dad had pointed out it looked like I was gaining weight. According to her, the Dad had said “Odie's arms are looking a little chunky.”

So the phrase, “Odie, your arms are looking a little chunky” became very popular around our house. I know my Dad would have also loved the story about the little girl pointing out my squishy arms.

I hope this brings a little laughter! I hope you have a wonderful day! See you tomorrow.

One More Odie Mishap For The Books

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting from BoggsMobile. I hope you have had a fabulous week. Thank you for joining me for a short visit.

I remembered a blog worthy story I had forgotten to share. This is a story that makes me laugh and shake my head in disbelief all at the same time.

This moment happened on September 24th this year. I was flying back to Alabama from Ohio at 7:30 AM, which required me to set my alarm for 3:30 AM. My ride to the airport was scheduled to arrive at 4:30 AM. My prep work for the crazy early morning began the day before, making the morning a tad easier.

On Monday evening, I marked several things off both my get ready and house shutdown lists. I set my alarm, laid my clothes out and tried to go to bed early, knowing everything was ready to go.

At home, my Echo Dot wakes me with the news. Tuesday morning, I heard the news kick on and I jumped into gear. I knew my time was valuable that morning and I had to be ready on time. I made my bed, got ready and had just a few more steps to be completely prepared. I grabbed my phone to check something and realized it was only 1:00 AM. I was nearly ready 90 minutes before my wakeup time.

Oh, I was so aggravated! Every second of sleep that is possible is important to me. I just grabbed a blanket to lay across my made up bed and tried to get more sleep. I do not know why my alarm went off so early. I had triple checked the time before I went to bed.

It is better to be ready super early instead of late. At least I could have peace of mind that I would be on time. It just made my really eventful day longer. Thankfully I napped some on the plane.

Dad often likes to say the day I was born 2 months early was the only time that I have been early. Well, that is not always the case and this story is proof!

Hope this Odie moment brought a smile to your day! I think I will go take a nap. Reliving this real nightmare moment to write it all made me tired again.

Thank you for reading. See you next week!

A Beautiful Gift From Home

In normal years we spend months at a time away from home. We miss our families, we miss our home church and we miss our friends during those long absences. It is all part of the job so we deal with it.

We also miss the best salsa in the world from our dear friends at Acapulco in Lebanon. Thankfully, our friends often visit Acapulco while we are gone and they joyfully send us pictures of their good fortune.

We have only been away from home less than five weeks but we are happy to report that our friends are thinking of us. In fact, we had only been gone a few days when Bro Jared and Sis Valerie Burris sent us a beautiful picture to remind us of home.

There is nothing in life better than good friends and we have been blessed with the best. Thank you all dearly. It is nice to be loved!

In Need of Joseph!

In one hour period this week I had two vivid nightmares. Wow!

In the first, Pastor Jimmy Millikin and I were driving around looking for the BoggsMobile. I had parked the bus in front of a church that I had just begun to Pastor. That day was my first service. Some of the time I was driving and some of the time, Bro. Millikin was driving, but we could not find the church.

We would say, "I think it is down this road" or "It must be over here", but we would turn and we were wrong every time. We drove and drove and drove, looking for the bus, but never found it. It was so frustrating!

I knew I had parked the bus right out front.
How could I misplace the bus?
Why had I accepted the Pastorate of a church?
Why couldn't two grown men find neither the church or the bus?
Arg!

In the second nightmare, Odie was driving a small car pulling our huge tent trailer and I was riding in the tent trailer. There was a window in the tent trailer and I was talking to Odie on speakerphone and giving her turn-by-turn directions.

There are so many things wrong with that scenario.

We were going to a preacher's house way out in the country. We barely know this preacher and his wife was riding with Odie. In real life, I am not even sure if I know what this preacher's wife looks like so I have no idea why she was with Odie.

We were coming to the last turn onto a long gravel drive and Odie missed the turn.

Our signal had gone weak and I could hear them talking, but they could no longer hear me. We were on a small country road so I opened the window and then opened the door, flailing my arms trying to get Odie's attention. It took nearly a mile for her to see me and to stop in the middle of the road.

I knew that Odie could not back into a driveway to turn around, but I knew I could. As I was getting into the driver's seat, I woke up.

The first nightmare left me in a cold sweat the second left me a nervous wreck. If anyone receives the interpretation for either, let me know. We need a Joseph to step up.

Thank you. Have a great day.

Odie Broke The Bus

Early this year I reconfigured our 12volt water pump system. I intended to plumb the pex line all the way to the new pump, but found there are no pump to pex fittings readily available. I ran a braided 3/4" hose from the tank to the pump and 1/2" clear tubing from the pump to the water system.

In only a few days I noticed that the 1/2" tubing was a mistake. It needs to be braided. The tube started stretching quickly. I knew I needed to replace it but kept neglecting to do so.

Then, Odie broke the bus.

Odie turned on the water pump Sunday morning a week ago and there was no water in the faucet. When she turned on the pump, the line had split and began pumping all of the water out of the broken line in the water.

Why does Odie get the blame? I am using Odie's own logic when I say Odie broke the bus. She needed water. She pushed the button to turn on the pump. Therefore she broke the bus.

When Odie was little she thought whoever ate the last chip in the bag or the last M&M, ate all the chips or M&Ms. She could eat all the chips but two and then I could eat the last two. Odie would say, "Dad ate ALL the potato chips."

The funny thing is, she was absolutely serious. It has become a running joke in our family. You ate ALL the chips because you ate the LAST one. You drank ALL the Pepsi because you took the LAST swallow. You ate ALL the cookies because you ate the LAST crumb.

Therefore Odie broke the bus because she pushed the pump button when the water line broke. Odie broke the bus. Plus, it was Sunday so Odie pushed the Ox (Bus) in the ditch.

I had not shaved or showered yet so the ox was really in the ditch.

But, KJo and I pulled the ox out of the ditch in a few minutes. She knew where the extra 1/2" tubing was located. She fetched it and I changed it in a few minutes.

Even though the non braided line lasted seven months, I intend to replace this one way before then. Hopefully, Odie will not break the bus before then.😜

Thank you for stopping by.
