Pre-Order for Our New CD

I mentioned yesterday that I would re-post the pre-order information for our new CD. We have started receiving a trickle of orders and every single one helps.

We are right on schedule to have our new CD in our hands by August 1. In fact we are a little ahead of schedule. I am still sticking by the original date because lots of unforeseen things can slow down the process. The master, pictures, designs and all of the information needed for the cover and liner notes have been sent to the manufacturer. The only thing left for us to do is approve the proofs when they are sent for us and then wait.

The new project's title is He Came - The Gospel of Christmas. We recorded 9 tracks. It has 8 songs and a short gospel sermon. I would describe it as a CD with a Christmas theme rather than a pure Christmas CD. Here is the song list.

I Could Not Come To You

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen - Instrumental

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
(Yes, "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" is on there twice. Once as and instrumental and once with vocals. There is a small story behind that and  I share it on the liner notes)

Until He Came

Three Faithful Heralds

Long Time Comin'

Getting Ready For A Baby

He Came - The Gospel of Christmas - Sermon

He Came To Me

The CDs will sell for $15 each and you can pre-order them with free shipping. If you order 10 or more and have them shipped to the same address, we will discount them to $12 each and still ship them for free. We had several churches pre-order 10, 20, 30 or more of our last CD and it really helped with our upfront expenses and plus they received a discount too.

You can send pre-orders to the address below. All of them will need to be received by July 1. We will ship all of the pre-ordered CDs as soon as we receive the first shipment. As I said, we are planning to have them by August 1st.

We are excited about you hearing our Christmas themed CD. We hope it will be a blessing to you and your families.

Anchor of Hope - First Night of Revival

It is good to be back among friends at Anchor of Hope in Lebanon, Ohio for a few nights of revival. Pastor Bill Lamb and his folks have been so kind to us down through the years. It is always a privilege to sing and preach here at Anchor.

Bro. Lamb was the Sunday School Superintendent and a lay preacher at Dodd's when I was growing up there. Our families were very close. He was asked to become Pastor at Anchor's original location when I was 8 years old and I could not believe it. I hated to see them go even though we would visit there a lot and our families would remain in touch.

Bro. Bill and Sis. Norma have been faithful to reach out to us and invite us and we appreciate that very, very much. Their son Bro. E.J. has been serving as the associate Pastor for several years and they make a great team. We are so glad to be here with them all this week.

Last night was a good service and we are expecting good things from the Lord the next two nights.

Real Thing. What happened to the glasses Jo?

Regan and Big Boy make a good match. What do you think, Bro. Scott?

We have been working on details this week for our new recording and we are pretty excited about it. The pictures we had taken on Monday near Lebanon turned out great. Sis. Julies Stephens from Calotype Photography in Neosho, Missouri turned those pictures into a super great CD cover. She is awesome. I hope to post some of that soon.

Our master CD arrived at the manufacturer yesterday and I emailed all of the print package yesterday evening. I am sure we will be looking at proofs in a few days and then a few weeks after that we will have CD's in our hands by God's grace.

We are seeing a few pre-orders trickle in for the new CD. I will try to re-post that information tomorrow. Please keep praying for us.

A Busy Day With Friends

Monday evening we met my brother Steve and some of his family at City Barbeque. It had been a very long time since we had been there and it was great to go back. Kelly Jo and I had stopped in there when my Dad was in the hospital last month but they were out of smoked turkey and corn pudding. Two strikes were enough so we ate something else.

I am happy to report that Monday night they had everything in stock and it was hot and ready to eat! Wow, it was good.

Kelly Jo picked up the girls shortly after 9:00 Tuesday morning and spent the day at the Columbus Zoo. They had never been to that zoo but had heard good things about it. They really liked it. They liked it so good it kind of made me wish I could have went too. I am sure that Odie will have a post with lots of pictures about their zoo trip soon.

I left about 9:00 to go back to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky airport. Bro. Shobanke was flying in from Texas and I was privileged to drive down and pick him up. He had a little hiccup in his original plans but it is amazing how it is all working out for his good and God's glory.

When Bro. Shobanke's plans changed, Bro. Hobert Bowling and his son Bro. Neil went the extra mile to get Bro. Shobanke's ticket changed. It was an inconvenience for them to do it but they did it willingly. A few days later God cause Bro. Shobanke to cross paths with a brother from this area that was passing through Texas and soon he knew why God was bringing him back to Indiana and Ohio this week.

In 1989 Bro. Bill Burkett first introduced Bro. Shobanke to the conservative Pentecostal churches in the USA. Bro. Shobanke had made several trips here but had never preached in the USA. For over 24 years now he has been a great blessing to our churches because of the recommendation of Bro. Bill Burkett.

Bro. Shobanke had not seen Bro. Burkett for many years and had been praying for an opportunity to find out where he was and to see him again. A few days after he was directed back to Indiana and Ohio he was introduced to Bro. David Eldridge. Bro. Shobanke told Bro. Eldridge about Bro. Burkett's kindness and Bro. Eldridge pulled out his cell phone and called Bro. Burkett.

In that phone conversation Bro. Shobanke learned that Bro. Burkett was pastoring in Indiana and the door of opportunity was opened to see and preach for Bro. Burkett. Bro. Shobanke is so thrilled at how God's hand has guided every step of the way.

I am glad to be a small part of it too.

I worked a big part of the day chasing a bunch of lose ends in the CD process. The pictures are taken and now they are in the hands of Calotype Photography for the cover design. We will have more information on all of that as it becomes available.

We start a few nights of revival tonight at Anchor of Hope near Lebanon. Please pray for us.
God bless you all.

Pre-order Christmas CDs

UPDATE 4/30/13 9:30 PM
My Dad came through surgery fine this morning. His heart stayed strong and the surgeon was pleased. He is now resting in a room and hoping and praying for a good night sleep.

Thank you so much for praying. Please continue to pray that he has a full and speedy recovery.

Here is just a glimpse of Kelly Jo at work in the studio last week.

If all goes as planned we should have our new CD by August 1. Ben Isaacs and Mark Capps have a lot of work to do on the actual recording and we need to have pictures taken and finish (start) the liner notes. Barring any catastrophes we should have all of that tied up real neatly by mid June. The manufacture usually needs 4-6 weeks so that should work real well.

As I mentioned in this post, the working title is He Came - The Gospel of Christmas. We recorded a total of eight songs. Here is the song list but the order has not been finalized yet.

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen - Instrumental

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen

Until He Came

I Could Not Come To You

Three Faithful Heralds
(A medley of "We Three Kings," "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Hark the Herald Angel Sing.")

Getting Ready For A Baby

Long Time Comin'

He Came To Me

There will also be a short Gospel sermon titled "He Came."

New Recording - He Came

Thanks for all of the questions and interest in our new recording. Now we just need about 100,000 people to be interested enough to buy it. That would solve a whole bunch of problems! Lol

Pictures from our recording.

This is our first studio record in a few years so it was exciting to get back in the studio. It was also frightening because it reminds us how inadequate we are when it comes to these things. Thankfully folks that are really, really good at these things are willing to surround us and help us all they can.

Ben Isaacs has been so gracious to help us through the years. We can not say enough good things about Ben. He is so talented yet he generously lends those talents, mixed with genuine kindness to so many in the music industry. He is incredibly busy with the Isaacs touring schedule, his family time and playing on and producing records for many others.

He is really too busy to do all of the things he does for us and we are very thankful he takes time to do it. We could not do this without Ben. He uses his amazing ability to help us sound as good as we can and that is a miracle in itself.

We were also working with Mark Capps this week. Magic Mark (er) is a Grammy award winning engineer. He mixed our Havin Church' Live in California CD and was working hard engineering this one. He and Ben work together a lot and they are a great team.

The new CD has a Christmas theme. I would not call it a traditional Christmas CD although it does have a couple of traditional songs. We hope to communicate the great truth that Jesus came into the world to save sinners. In fact, the working title is He Came - The Gospel of Christmas.

If all goes as planned it will have eight songs and a Christmas sermon. Two of the songs are instrumental carols and I think they turned out great. Kelly Jo worked very hard on the piano. This is the first studio record she has played on for us. She felt so incapable but she did terrific.

Ben Isaacs played the bass and Greg Ritchie played the drums and other percussion. There is a possibility we might add a little more instrumentation but I do not think we will. I want to keep it as simple as we can. I think is sounds just fine as it is and once Ben and Mark work their magic it may be fit for public consumption.

We are planning on taking pre-orders as we did with Havin' Church. I will try to let you know more about that in the coming days. That was a huge help to us last time.

We arrived home very late last night or maybe I should say early this morning. We visited with my parents, my sister and one of my brothers for a while today and ate a late lunch at Acapulco in Lebanon. I guess you did not see that one coming, did you ?

We are planning to attend our home church tonight. I am really looking forward to that!

God bless you all.

Pictures While Recording

Another long day, another late night but lots of pictures. I hope you enjoy the pictures from our days in the studio. Some of the pictures have descriptions or names.

The very high dollar mic that I sang into for the recording. It made me sound exactly like me. That is NOT a good thing.

We stayed too late at night. I asked them to stand against the wall so I could snap a picture and this is what I got.
