Just The Way We Like It!

Friday was a longish travel day for us. We drove 336 miles from Paducah, Kentucky to Vonore, Tennessee.

336 miles. For many years, 800 to 1000 miles each day was normal for us and we scheduled accordingly. That is no longer the case.

Two or three years after buying the bus, we started shooting for 550 mile days as our normal "long" day. We kept that pace pretty much until Covid. We have been trying to drive no more than 350 miles a day the last three years unless it is an emergency.

In the last six weeks, we have been able to do much better than that and we love it just like that!💕💕💕

The 336 mile day was our longest mileage day since October 9 when we drove 342 on our way toward Oklahoma. We stopped for the night in Missouri.

Our next travel day was 113 miles.
Then 143 miles.
37 miles.
19 miles.
19 miles.
212 miles.
169 miles.
108 miles.
179 miles.
109 miles.
172 miles.
And finally 68 miles.

That is nearly seven weeks with only one 200 mile day, only three more days over 150 miles and one three week period with less than 80 miles total! That is amazing and we love it just like that.

Plus, the BoggsMobile went from October 9 to November 13 between fuel stops! Yay!

We will ruin this soon by traveling over 6000 miles in less than 24 hours. Thankfully, the bus is not going.

Thank you for stopping by today.

The Weekend Dispatch

This was our last weekend before leaving for Nigeria. It was time to finish our trip to Vonore, Tennessee in order for the bus to be in the right position and to put us closer to the airport.

We had planned to spend Saturday driving between Paducah, Kentucky and Vonore, but we changed it to Friday for good reason. Odie discovered that the University of Tennessee was playing a football game against a Nashville team. That was going to create a horrible traffic situation on I-40.

We have driven in that Saturday football traffic in Tennessee before and that is not something we want to repeat. We intended to avoid 100,000 rabid football fans if we could and we did that by driving Friday during the day.

It was a long drive, but it was made much easier with less traffic. We stopped for fuel near the end and pulled into Jeff's at 4:15 Friday afternoon.

Saturday was spent working on final preparations for Nigeria and Sunday we preached for Pastor Herman Woods at Beechfork Holiness Church about an hour and twenty minutes from us. We had a wonderful service with friends followed by a super great meal and fellowship.

Wow! What a wonderful day it was with friends. We have been preaching at Beechfork since 1987 we love these folks so much.

Thank you all for reading today.

Plans and Prayer

Monday night was Thanksgiving Fellowship Service at Junction Hill and the last night of revival. The Lord blessed us all in a great way and we are thankful for it. It was wonderful to see so many friends and to experience a visitation from the Lord.

We will try to put up pictures of the last few services later in the week, probably on Friday.

We are planning to travel today IF the weather does not prevent it. There has been some severe weather predicted in our path and we want to make sure we are clear of that before we depart. By God's grace, we will be making our way toward Tennessee and our flights to Africa.

I would love for you to pray for my Dad, Eugene Boggs today and the next few days.

Dad will be having a surgical procedure late this morning and we are asking the Lord to help him through it. God is able to guide the process and quicken his recovery. Thank you for taking time to pray for my parents. I know that they are in God's hands and I also know that is the safest place for them to be.

Thank you for checking in today.

The Weekend Dispatch 11/20/23

Our weekend began with a morning of travel, finishing the trip to Junction Hill Pentecostal Church near West Plains, Missouri. By 11:30 AM we were parked, hooked up and loading in sound equipment. Bro. and Sis. Galiher helped us load in and soon we were getting soundcheck and getting ready for the first service Friday.

We had a full weekend of great revival services and we enjoyed every moment. We love these folks and we love singing and preaching here. They have wonderful singers at Junction Hill and Bro. Galiher is a tremendous preacher, yet they are so gracious in embracing our singing and preaching.

Texe Boggs flew his plane from La Russel to be in revival with us Friday night. That was cool! It has been quite a while since we had seen Texe and we were meeting Charlie and Liberty for the first time.

We have enjoyed a great weekend of revival services, wonderful meals and encouraging fellowship. Tonight, Monday is the Thanksgiving Fellowship Meeting here at Junction Hill and we are looking forward to the service. Come see us if you can.

Thank you for reading today.
