Beckham Is One

 Hey Friends,

My regular readers will recognize Beckham. He is my cousins Jonas and Kylee's boy. You all have helped us pray hard for this little guy!

August 30th 2025, Beckham Porter Boggs was born. We were smitten from the beginning. We knew he was a special dude. 

Little did we know the health battles that laid ahead for him in the coming days, weeks and months. God brought him through a lot of stuff in the last year! Thanks for the prayers. Beckham is a warrior. He has rallied and persevered with courage. 

The war is not over. According to doctors he has a major battle to face. His rare genetic disorder makes him a candidate for a bone marrow transplant. We are still hoping and praying for divine intervention. God is well able to turn things around. 

Soon, they have an appointment with the  BMT specialist. Hopefully Jonas and Kylee will know more of a game plan then. The doctor wanted to wait until Beckham is one. Maybe another form of treatment will be available for his age now. 

Earlier this month they celebrated his big birthday. We did not get to be there, but I am so thankful for video and pictures. Thanks to Aunt Holly for supplying party pics! His 1 year photos are adorable. 

We love our little guy so much. He is a miracle boy! Here is a comparison of Beckham and his Uncle Davy the Great. I think they favor each other.

Helping Hands

 Hey Friends,

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. We had a great one, ourselves. It is always good to be home at DRPC for a Sunday. 

Did you see my post on Saturday? You can see it HERE. Our friends the Akers of Beyond Frontiers are working hard to help the Venezuelans. The earthquakes have left massive deviation. 

Sometime things slip my mind because it's “old news”. The life-changing destruction is not “old news” to the precious people trying to to recover. They need prayers and help!

Mom and I have been blessed with helping hands. On Thursday Bro. Bruce Mayhan mowed the yard. He did a fabulous job!

Saturday Bro. Brandon James, Bro. Ethan Rose and Bro. Alan Cartee came to get projects done. Their help

is so appreciated!

Thank you dear brothers, for spending your Saturday working hard for us! I pray God blesses you for your help!

Sunday Sanity 8/31/26

 Hey Friends,

 

We visited a store on Wednesday. They had a wall of nice signs for the home. I read one that reached out and grabbed my soul. 

Once again it it common knowledge. I was not learning something new, but the reminder was food to the mind and soul. 

I thought I snapped a photo, but alas it did not save. So I made a graphic to share with you. 

This has not left my mind since Wednesday. I am hanging on to the gentle reminder. Hopefully it encourages your day too.

Praying And Helping Venezuela

 Hey Friends,

Mom and I have been praying for the people of Venezuela. The recent earthquakes have been horrible for so many. 

The pictures and videos of the devastation have moved us to tears. We have wanted to help the hurting people. 

The Akers Family are friends of ours. They devoted many years of their ministry to Venezuela!

 I remember seeing their missionary slides in our living room many years ago. I was just 7 or 8 years old. They have done an incredible work for God. Now they have mission projects in several countries.

We received a newsletter in the mail this week from their ministry, Beyond Frontiers. Currently, they can not be in Venezuela in person. They do have trusted contacts, and ways to help with the earthquake relief. 

Already they have committed $20,000, with the goal of raising $50,000 more. Mom and I want to help them reach the goal. 

We plan to send an offering from BFM to Beyond Frontiers. I asked permission to share their newsletter with you all. Bro. Akers graciously said yes.

Fun Food Friends And Family

 Hey Friends,

We had a fantastic week with our longtime friends Bro. Bruce and Sis. Priscilla Mayhan. I know I mentioned their visit on Tuesday. 

This week we have done lots of reminiscing, visiting, eating and laughing on repeat. He even mowed my yard yesterday! That was a huge help to us, especially Mom 😂. 

We needed this time with our precious friends. Their friendship and support mean the world to us. They are a special gift from God to Mom and me.

Bruce and Priscilla, we love and appreciate them so much. Thank you all for spending time with us! See you on down the road!
